  • Picked up an amazing Vintage Craftsman “Circle H” socket set and it was pretty nasty! As with any old tool, I know it can be brought back to its former glory with a little elbow grease and patience (very little patience). Here is my process from front to back, how I use Evaporust with some tips, tricks and DO NOT’s! EVAPORUST SAFE ON PAINT? I’ll explain how to use Evaporust on your painted items and ensure they do not get ruined! Drop me a line below, hit me up on Insta and let me know what you think or what you would like to see a video on!!! Thank you for watching!

Thank you. I just dropped a hammer from the back of a drawer of my 1930’s snap on cabinet and you’ve just saved the day!

Thank you for the tips, I was given my dads tool boxes when he passed, they were my grandads before him. It took my a few year to actually open them up because of the memories, but I’m glad I did!

Got any advice on preserving the logos if they’re decals?

Absolutely! Spray with Rustoleum Clear Enamel or a clear coat. That will do it!

I find Evaporust darkens the metal like old Navel Jelly used to. It polishes out though. Basically, I've been disappointed with Evaporust for the price. Dremel has some attachments now that are incredible for restoring metal shine. A lot safer than wire wheels, I think.

In that condition i would just get a wire brush and a drill take the whole thing back to bare metal and re spray it like new again .

Have you ever compared Evaporust to straight white vinegar as far as a rust removing liquid? I have found 24 hours does the same as far as turning the rust black.

    Why not use vinegar?

Hey out of curiosity is it ok to dump the evaporust down the drain after use? I'm hesitant to use it only because idk if It needs to e disposed differently or if it it'll ruin the drains? Thx just curious, tools look great afterwards!

its supposed to be non-toxic but after being used, it will probably have alot of harmful contaminants. I would dispose of it at any facility that takes used coolant.
