Thank you for your kind comments. I used to sing in a choir with a German soprano who taught German at a local school; any good pronunciation I have is down to her! Bobbie jumped on my lap during filming. Richard: “This isn’t a Bobbie video”. Caroline: “Oh come on, everyone loves Bobbie!” Richard relents 😂
A very fine version of „Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme“ by Richard and Caroline. As German I was very impressed by the crystal clear pronuaciation of Caroline. Only on one second you hear a soft Englisch colouration of the Text.👏👏👏❤. A simplied and shortened version of „Wachet auf“ is in the hymnals in Germany und will be normally sung on the first sunday of advent, so this very joyful arraingement by Richard and Caroline is a perfect start in first Weekend of Advent. Thanks for that four minutes of music.❤
Caroline is learning German language ! God bless you and the whole family, greetings fom Germany ! I always enjoy Richard´s playing and love your channel. Caroline has a wonderful voice. Bach is my favorite composer. I think the reason why he was so successful was his faith in Jesus Christ. He always looked for the honour of God. ❤
Thank you , for everything about this from the Angelic voice, flawless organist, cuddly cat and the joyful yet bitter sweet Alleluia that Bach’s genus reminds of the crucifixion yet to come but The Father joyfully loves us
Bobbie started off so well behaved; but then the fidgets started. I however enjoyed the music right through to the end. I'm writing this comment during my second listening. Very nice. 😊
Thank you Richard for this beautiful arrangement. I love it. Played with such warmth and feeling. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🇿🇦🇿🇦. Thank you Caroline for that beautiful singing. It was so angelic and like an angel voice full of such warmth and feeling. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏. I love Bobby just sitting quietly and listening to the singing and playing.
This video came on as I was waiting for the tram in a freezing cold and pitch dark Rotterdam. I listened to it immediately. Just superb Richard and Caroline. I love how you blended the singing with inspirations from two Bach pieces. I was immediately grabbed by the lovely use of the different divisions of the organ and blown away as soon as the singing of the chorale started. I also love the Christmas themed organ/dining room! Perfect to get me in the spirit for my favourite time of the year!
Incredibly beautiful.. hello from Limerick Ireland .. involved in choirs and church music all my life. I salute you both..I was new here tonight and mesmerized.. cannot wait to spend Sundays of Advent with you lovely people..happy birthday Richard.
A wonderful arrangement but what’s even better is the performance from you both. I will be listening to this again. Joint favourite with the Durufle Veni Creator you gifted us all with. Wishing the McVeigh household a wonderful Adventide.
Wachet auf rulf und die stimier by j s Bach also known in English From German awake thou wintery earth . organ stops mainly used is flute.nazard bourdon16 diapason16 mixtures and lieblichflute and cornet or cornopean8
👏👏👏👏Brilliant. Absolutely beautiful. Your duets are my favourites which I relisten to over and over. Love the Christmas sweaters. Christmas blessings to you both, Hugo and Charlotte 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Well played and well sung Richard & Caroline. This is my favourite Bach tune which I could almost play from memory. My late organist teacher said I was playing a grade 9 piece in my early stages. You have just started my Christmas with that. A big thank you to you both and of course, Bobbie.🎄
I'm walking through the cold winter evening, its snowing. I'm listening to this lovely arranged piece 😌 if you have the words sung, its quiet magical... thank you both ❤
I just love this. All of this - the arrangement, the organ part, Caroline's superb singing, the warm kitty. Putting two pieces together is something that interests me a lot. Is the organ part of the arrangement something that can be adapted to piano? These days I don't have access to a good enough organ.
Wow i am blown away Caroline you are verily a professional and really one of the best i have heard before. You can sing very well in the German language i would love to hear you sing in Welsh. Richard the organ was so good you hit every note just perfectly. Thanks so much this has blessed me and made my day. God bless
Which stop are you using on the top manual Richard? it has a beautiful sound. Caroline sings so beautifully too.... and, of course, the organ playing is magnificent.
This arrangement is in the original key of E flat major, and the lowest note is E flat and the highest is a G which is a 10th above. It may be sung by upper or/and lower voices.
Sehr schön gespielt und gesungen. Sehr toll. Weiß da jemand was darüber? In Englisch: well played and sung. With this pronouncation, Caroline could have be a german-language background, its very good! Only the "Jüngfrauen" instead of "Jungfrauen" (so they will be "younger" / „jünger“ and not only be "young" / „jung“ if we only take the first part of the word). What a little bit confusing is the word "kömmt" - as it isn't typical within german language (correct would be „kommt“ today), but I found a newer score from the 1960s where this "kömmt" is written down, the older scores I found have the better sounding "kommt". Does anyone knows something about this change of a word into a untypically form in the 20th century?
Beautiful voice!!!! With all respect, this is not "new." With the exception of the left hand and text in German, John Leavitt published this in 1993. Love all your work!
Thank you for your kind comments. I used to sing in a choir with a German soprano who taught German at a local school; any good pronunciation I have is down to her!

Richard: “This isn’t a Bobbie video”.
Caroline: “Oh come on, everyone loves Bobbie!”
Richard relents 😂
You sang really nicely. It is a real bonus to hear it sung in German.
Your singing is quite remarkable. The cat was an excellent addition!
Caroline, your cat 🐈 was purrfectly on cue!! 🎶🥰
Magnificent ❤ Angel's voice. Great arrangement. Majestic.

Sheer delight. The very definition of 'helle Munde'. Thank you both!
WOW! Caroline has such an angelic voice. The stops used on the organ really brings it out.
Richard sent me here from Virtual Church! Proving that I obeyed command! Though, I'd already listened to it 5 times before this..!
Bravo!!!👏👏👏👏

Thank you! What a stunning voice! Please more of this...
Bobbie started off so well behaved; but then the fidgets started. I however enjoyed the music right through to the end. I'm writing this comment during my second listening. Very nice. 😊

Great job! You both were exquisite especially Caroline… your German was “sehr gut!
Wonderful to hear Caroline, and especially to hear it sung in the original German. Beautiful!

that was delightful! It was great to hear Caroline's singing voice again. Bravo to both of you for this jewel!
Bravo, a truly beautiful performance.
I love it far more this way than when I just play it by myself as written. Gorgeous, especially with that angelic voice!
Utterly delightful!
Aw, takes me back to my German heritage. Brilliant! Thank you and have a blessed Advent 🙏
Incredibly beautiful.. hello from Limerick Ireland .. involved in choirs and church music all my life. I salute you both..I was new here tonight and mesmerized.. cannot wait to spend Sundays of Advent with you lovely people..happy birthday Richard.
Welcome! We’re so pleased you found us 😊
Fantastic arrangement of this lovely piece of Bach.😁👍
A wonderful arrangement but what’s even better is the performance from you both. I will be listening to this again. Joint favourite with the Durufle Veni Creator you gifted us all with. Wishing the McVeigh household a wonderful Adventide.
How wonderful to make such great music together. It’s the best! Blessings.
Beautifully played, beautifully sung, beautiful Bobbie, this really puts the B in BiS.
That's awesome performance from Richard and wife
Beautifully played and sung. Perfection!
Very beautiful. Love this arrangement. Thank you Richard, Caroline and Bobbie.
Bach would have been proud to listen this version! WOW!!! Absolutely AMAZING!!! Angelic voice, perfect registration on the organ and perfect playing
Beautiful and joyous. Thank you.
absolutely beautiful - one of my favorite Bach compositions and a wonderful and intimate performance
From my Hospital bed just waiting on discharge tomorrow so how to clear people up, that was beautiful.
I wish you a speedy recovery, lots of strength and all the best for your future. Warm greetings from a unknown, also a fan of Richard.

Truly beautiful
That was very beautiful!
❤❤❤❤
Nice work you two. Wonderfully arranged (and played and sung)
Joyous beauty!
Thank you! 😊
Can’t like this arrangement enough. My biggest regret growing up is not learning how to play the Organ. Thanks Richard!
Awesome both of you, Thanks for sharing 😊
That kitteh tho’🥰
❤
Very charming. Well done both of you!
Well played and well sung Richard & Caroline. This is my favourite Bach tune which I could almost play from memory. My late organist teacher said I was playing a grade 9 piece in my early stages. You have just started my Christmas with that. A big thank you to you both and of course, Bobbie.🎄
Well done you two, a beautiful rendition ! 😊
I'm walking through the cold winter evening, its snowing. I'm listening to this lovely arranged piece 😌 if you have the words sung, its quiet magical... thank you both ❤
Lovely music, and the cat was well behaved!
Thks Richard the beautiful version of yours & good to hear Caroline sing in German. Nice to see Bobby again. Where's Nala?
I love it! Thank you!!
nice voice and arrangement. keep up the good work
Really lovely! can you do this with Reger , where the choral words are written in ??
I just love this. All of this - the arrangement, the organ part, Caroline's superb singing, the warm kitty. Putting two pieces together is something that interests me a lot. Is the organ part of the arrangement something that can be adapted to piano? These days I don't have access to a good enough organ.
Thanks! This particular arrangement isn’t practical on the piano due to the importance of both pedals and both hands - they’re all quite independent.
Sehr schön. Eine kleine Korrektur. Bei Minute 02:45 im Video steht „ Wohl auf, der Bräutgam kömmt“ Es heißt in Deutsch „Wohl auf, der Bräutgam kommt“.
Very nice sound indeed, beautiful. I take it the cat was holding the vocal microphone? 😀
Wow i am blown away Caroline you are verily a professional and really one of the best i have heard before. You can sing very well in the German language i would love to hear you sing in Welsh. Thank you. It's the Cornet on the Solo division, along with the Great 8', 2' flutes and the Choir 2 2/3 coupled through (played on the Great)
Many thanks Richard.
It makes such an ethereal sound.
Came for the cat!!!
🐱💞
Singing the original German lyrics! ❤
Bravo! Je croyais que le chat aurait chanté... 🐱😸
I wonder if in your arrangements you could provide the vocal range before we purchase- and are alternate keys offered?
This arrangement is in the original key of E flat major, and the lowest note is E flat and the highest is a G which is a 10th above. It may be sung by upper or/and lower voices.

How did I get here? I only typed in 'cat vids'.
haha I literally have no idea! Although to be fair, RUclips did give you a cat video (please meet Bobbie!)
Beautiful voice!!!! With all respect, this is not "new." With the exception of the left hand and text in German, John Leavitt published this in 1993. Love all your work!
