    Hi Christie, great video 👍 I try and plan meals and then make double, so that there is enough for some to go into containers in the freezer. Always handy to have some meals ready to go. And yes I struggle with the cling wrap also lol.

      I'm glad I'm not the only one who is yet to master cling wrap. lol

    Great recipes Kristie! I have lots of trouble trying to open jars they make them so tight, I don’t know how the elderly do it. I don’t prep I just cook each day, but I am going to start prepping as it saves time and especially in Summer I don’t feel like cooking each day. Love your channel 🇦🇺💜

      Sorry for the late reply, Maggy. I'm not a huge meal prep person myself but I am finding myself trying to prep a little here and there. As you say, sometimes we just don't feel like cooking each day.

    Love how you keep it real! Cause I am literally having a vege out day at home. I just buy my groceries and chuck it all in the pantry, fridge - I try to meal plan for the week, but when it comes to the day of the meal, my son and I don’t feel like eating that for dinner - honestly, we can be our own pain in the butt

      Sorry for the late reply, Sharlene. I completely relate to your comment! I usually try to somewhat meal plan based on what I want to use up or what I purchased recently but about half the time, nobody feels like eating what was planned for that day.

    The oyster sauce lid pops off like a beer bottle lid! It's not a twist top, just needs a bottle opener 😁

      Thank you!!! I knew it had to be something simple. I'd never bought that brand before and that thing had me completely beaten.

    I usually do not do traditional meal prep as I have a large organic fruit orchard and veggie garden in the back yard. I do save leftovers in single serves for lazy, sick or busy days. When hubby and I go away I do make meal kits for the boys to just heat and eat. The boys are 22 and 23 and both know how to cook well but I like to have something there is they don't want to cook.

      The fruit and veggie gardens sound amazing! Meal kits are such a great idea. My kids still at home are 20 and 21. Unfortunately, neither can really cook but they do manage to reheat things.

      Hey, Angela. I actually used the Coles Pancake and Pikelet mix in this video. You just add a little milk and sugar to the $1 packet.

    What size are those glass dishes from kmart that you used for the shepherd's pie? Can you put into oven after freezing in the dish?

    • @AtHomewithChristie
      @AtHomewithChristie  Год назад +1

      Yes you can! I have these in a number of sizes now (replaced a lot of my plastics) and have had no issues taking them from freezer to fridge to oven to dishwasher. I do take it out of the freezer and let it thaw a bit before popping it into the oven just incase. I just checked the size I used for this video and I believe it is the 1.4L.

    I agree..the majority of meals prepped and frozen taste terrible..

      Sorry for the late reply, Karolyn. I have a strong preference for freshly cooked and eaten meals. That said, mince based things seem to do okay pre-prepped and frozen but I find a lot of casseroles and other things I've tried tend to become too watery when reheated.
