    The floor is not showing up after I click finish edit mode. It goes from the pink color and after clicking finish, it disappears. I can only see it in 3D mode. I tried changing it to being visible in the Visibility/Graphics tab but it still does not show up. So I cannot place walls on top of the floor. I also tried changing the view range and it still does not show. What else should I do?

      Go to View>Visibility/Graphics>"Model Categories" tab. Find "Floors", and make sure it's checked.

    I think its better to draft the basic plan of the floor plan first in autocad then import it to revit.

    HELP!! Hello, this tutorial is great and easy to understand. However, I have Revit 2018, student version; I am using it for the first time, and there are so many things that are missing/different. For example, I cannot put in doors and windows and other components for some reason. Also, following your tutorial, I cannot put on a roof because roof level in the planes set up is different. Could you guys please do a tutorial for student version? It would be much appreciated. Thank you!

    Hello! I have a question
    Is it easier or rather, necessary to start the plans and what not in autocadd then transfer it later on in revit? thanks

      I"d say its all preference but if you already have floor plans made in CAD and you didn't want to remake them in Revit just insert them into your Revit

    Hi guys thanks for the tutorial, I was expecting a comparison with the old REVIT, emphasising the new features. Besides this, I think the video is to RUSH.

    So. Can I use Revit to make construction documents for building homes,
    without any other software?

    • @bai
      @bai 7 лет назад

      Revit is not made to make documentation, so yes, you should use another software. Check this list:

    • @bai

      Probably you have a Work Plane fixed on a floor that isn't properly the correct one. Change the Work Plane and fix it to the top floor plan you have, then try again.

      I would love to know from an Interior design point of view what REVIT can do VS AutoCAD and SketchUP. Video how to make a room from scratch covering scale, measurements, and dimensions, placing the furniture and lighting, finishes and materials, then render and set up for print. THAT would be insanely helpful. The video is nice and that is why agree with the Jae, there needs to be more information on how to actually design a room, a house, or a building. There are lots of interior designers out there who are looking for similar tutorials. Thanks!

      Hi, you simply have to put the colour in black and the rest does the job, I tried it and works fine. The student version actually has the same features than a normal one, but is only limited to 3 years.

    Same old ugly UI. I just can't stand this software, and not only because of the UI...

    • @IvanCapitani
      @IvanCapitani 8 лет назад +4

      1st. Hey keyboard warrior, wash your mouth with soap before you speak to anybody, especially to someone you don't know. The fact that you deliberately insult someone you don't know and who wasn't even addressing you, shows what an idiot you are. RUclips should ban imbeciles like you.
      2nd. I do care about the UI, and that's enough for me. And judging from the dozens of threads, articles and so on I've read on the subject I can safely say that most of the people do care as well. The UI is part of the package, it's not something on it's own, and it weighs a lot on the workflow. To say that the only thing that matters in a software is the CAD is like saying that the only thing that matters in a supercar is the engine, or that the only thing that matters in a computer is the processor. Yeah, go ahead and tell that to Ferrari, McLaren and Apple!
      3rd. Revit is not even good as a CAD program, nevermind the rest. Nemetschek's products are way better, not to talk about Bentley's or Catia's products when price is not a concern. Even SketchUp is better for modelling if BIM is not a necessity, and that's why loads of architects prefer it over Revit. Revit is an overhyped piece of software which lacks thorough developement since years. The information is all out there, and everyone with an objective mind (this is not your case) would understand that. As a Revit user has wisely put it in the Autodesk community "Using Revit to draft and model is like driving a car using a boatload of push buttons rather than a steering wheel". I've studied and used all the above mentioned packages - except for Bentley's and Catia's softwares - and Revit is the very last one I would pick.
      4th. Now go and hide yourself. You've just ridiculed yourself.
