James VI at Riddles Court

James VI held a feast (not a banquet, which was something different at the time) at the McMorran family home in Riddles Court in 1598. The guest of honour was his brother in law the Duke of Holstein. This event was part of his campaign to get international support for his claim to the throne of England as heir to his cousin, Elizabeth I.
