I purchased the Schmix. It is designed to mix with 4K and gives you more play time. I have covered gray hair, pink brows, used it as eyeliner, mascara, etc. I covered a tattoo and then airbrushed over it and it was seamless. It is a kit must have.
I've been trying so hard to find out more about Sian Richard's palates and found your channel...I've been binge watching it now! Please do more on these!
Could you use this as an under eye concealer or do you believe it’s too thick or could crease? How does it work with layering with other products? Definitely going to buy
Your videos have opened my mind and detached it from the mainstream vortex that is instagram makeup. I have learnt a lot from your videos and I find incredible that these type of products dont get mentioned as much as...i don't know, a tarte concealer for example. I have a question! When you do a whole face foundation and such with it, do you use a lot of product? Do you find it lasts? Thank you!!
Thanks so much Andrea!! That’s amazing! Yes, so when I use it for full foundation I probably use between a dime and nickel size of product. 2/3 of it is SRL and 1/3 is the HD fluid. It is truly the longest wearing foundation I’ve ever used!!
Hi Shannon, I really like these palettes you showcased. It’s seems a bit challenging to order, could you please guide me? Also, in your opinion, what is the difference between Sian Richards makeup to Senna and Maqpro as far as long wear and practicality? I would really love to know you professional opinion.. Thanks
Yes finally a great more indepth review!! I have been hunting reviews down for forever and there is hardly any out there. I bought the Boreal palette for bridal work and LOVE it. I will also be wearing it on my wedding day :) I know that ot can be used in airbrush machines but havent tried it yet. I would love to see you try it and report back ha x
i can't live without it in my kit! i also use it as an eyeliner, in the waterline, as an eyeshadow, a blush, a bronzer or contour and a longlasting lipstick too. i have bought the mixing medium called Shminks (or something like that) from the same company and it's amazing to use as a light coverage foundation. thanks for your videos, take care!
I nearly bough shmix product but I had L'oreal infallible mattifying primer and when i compared the ingrediemts they had EXACTLY the same ingredients so i stuck with L'oreal as its cheap as chips ha. X
I'm taking Terri Tomlinson's Color Theory class! But glad to see review on the cream palettes and what they can be used for. I've never used creams before, I feel like it's a big step for some reason.
Thank you for your tutorial. I am not a professional, just an older lady trying to look as good as I can! I discovered Sian Richards’ products a year or so ago and I have been hooked. I have all the pallets and Schmix. Could you please provide more information about the HD product you mix to make foundation? Where can it be found? Also, I have found that using Schmix sometimes makes a pigment too transparent even if I use a tiny amount of it. Therefore, I’m interested in learning what people mix with it in order to shear it out. I will try alcohol. I use this product as foundation, eyeliner, concealer and lipstick. It is a miracle product and never smudges under my eyes. It lasts through hot humid days, happy wedding tears, windy outside hikes, and any other activity you can think of.
Thank you so much for this video. Can't wait for the more in-depth video about this product you just promised in the comments. I am very interested but i have dry skin and love dewy glass skin so... Love your channel.
Thanks for sharing...I noticed that your SRs product has dried & shrunk up quite a bit, do you find it effects its' use/performance, have you found a way to store it to slow it from drying out? I heard SR in a demo from Nigels (I think...) and she mentioned Embryolisse as a moisturizer that works with her product, have you tried using the two together?
Hey Scouty D! Thank you so much for the question! Yes, they are harder to work with once they've dried up in the palette, especially as a foundation and without a mixing medium. I would say I got a solid year and a half at the same texture. In the last 6 months, they've dried up a lot more. I'm always super aware when I'm working to close them up right after I've scooped product out and I've been curious about depotting my next palette into a Vueset palette...but haven't tried it yet. The melanin and essence palettes are my oldest palettes, I mostly use the Boreal and Ether, so I've replaced those both once! I still hold on to the Melanin and Essence palettes even though they're drier because I can still activate most of it. However, I did have her Vida palette and that dried up to be unusable for me, except for activating with alcohol. I've tried mixing it together with her moisturizer (marvelous moisturizer), but I haven't quite gotten a ratio to my liking. I prefer putting the moisturizer on the face first and then buffing the product in dry. Does that make sense?
Scouty D Thanks a lot for this question and thanks Shannon for your detailed answer. I’m glad I decided not to purchase other 2 palettes: better to see how much I use the first 2 I bought first. I wanted to buy the Melanin as a “eyeliner” palette. Maybe I can still use it that way if it dries down.
MakeupByShannonMarie I watched all her IG videos and she mentions she uses her mixing medium Schmix to restore the creams to their original consistency
@@MakeupByShannonMarie on this regard, do you still recomend to buy it? im really thinking and thinking wether if is worth to buy something that will dry quite quickly, does the RCMA palette did the same to you??
Great video! Have you tried to mix these creams with the maqpro paris mixer? Is from the same brand as the liquid foundation you mentioned, so i think it will work great when you want a sheer coverage.
Do you like to mix it with 99% alcohol or another percentage? I ask because with traditional alcohol palettes 99% is necessary but since this is a more versatile formula I was curious what alcohol percentage works best with it?
would you recommend these to someone who isn't a pro makeup artist? i've been very interested in buying one of these palettes for tattoo cover as well as mixing it with moisturizer and using it as everyday for foundation c:
You could totally use it! She sells individual shades as well, so you could just get what you need! There's a bit of a learning curve, but I'd recommend it to anyone :)
Hi Shannon! I just watched this video and am curious, what level of alcohol are you using with the product? 60? 70? 99 %? Im wondering if it makes a difference. Thank you for all your videos! Love them!
Loved loved this video!!! Very helpful 🥰 Have you tried, instead of maqpro foundation, the Make Up For Ever ultra HD, ou double wear from Estée Lauder? Kisses from Portugal 🇵🇹😘
Yay!! So glad it was helpful! Hmm, actually I haven’t tried mixing it with either of those foundations 😔 I did pair it with Kosas Tinted Face Oils and it blended nicely! One thing that Kosas and Maq Pro have in common is they’re both super liquid-y. I’m not sure if that’s what makes them work, but I think it helps! Sorry I don’t have an answer for you! If you end up trying it out, let me know!!
Glad you mix it with a liquid foundation coz i do that too. By the way, I have several of these palettes, love them but a few on them have really dried out. Do you know how to rejuvenate them?
Good question, when they get too dried out I end up just using them like alcohol palettes. I’m still working on how to extend their life. My next batch I’m going to transfer in a Vueset Palette.
I want to know more, please. If these products last that long and it is hard to remove, then how do you take it off? and what if the product dries in the container? how can I re-moisturize it? I'd like to use this type of product in my kit. Thank you.
An oil cleanser or double cleanse will remove all of the product! When the product completely dries in the container I usually just re-moisturize it with alcohol and use it for FX. When I use it for foundation I exclusively use it mixed with Le MaqPro liquid so even when it’s drier in the palette, it still works! I usually get a year and a half of life with the palette. But, I recently restocked and am putting it in a Vuset palette to see if it lasts longer 😊
MakeupByShannonMarie Thank you very much for your answer. Another question. So, if it dries out in the container, can I still use a silicone-based moisturizer to reactivate? Because my main purpose is to use it with brides and I don’t think it’s a good idea to use alcohol if I wanna use these products as foundation or concealer. Once again, thank you very much for your time.
Oooo yay!!! You’re going to have so much fun with it! I actually haven’t tried the 4K Schmix, but hopefully someone else in the comment section has!! Sorry I can’t help 😔 If I end up picking up the product or hearing anything, I’ll let you know!
I have the schmix. It is great! In summer I like to mix Sian 4k with her Schmix and in winter I use the maqpro mixing medium or embryolisse... i use Sian for my own face! Schmix gives it a long lasting but drier finish... but it smoothes out pores and everything. When I apply some schmix on lips and the Sian 4k cream... best comfortable matte lipstick!
So I usually get a little over a year at full capacity and then another 6 months of mixing and after that I usually transition them an Alcohol/FX purpose. I'm about to purchase a couple palettes and put them in Vueset palettes to see if I can extend their life! But I rely on them so heavily in my makeup artistry work, I can't imagine my kit without them!
Hey, you can’t sheer it out using the RCMA thinner because these are silicone based while the thinner is oil based. I have both and I tried it and it separated and became this really weird texture.
I really hope you start uploading again, this is so refreshing compared to the usual makeup gurus on here and insta
