Yes, but Varane is out of contract, and Maguire isn't. I think Mark and a lot of United fans have missed Sir Jim's point. The spending on wages is ridiculous. Players like Varane would never get the salary we offered him elsewhere. So why are we the stupid mugs who offer great players no doubt but on the decline crazy wages. Casemiro is surely the last of this madness. It all started with RVP, and just because he worked, then we continued this mad transfer strategy to bring in superstars and expect to compete.
No more. Varane needs to go, and so do so many others. These guys know what they are doing, let them work in peace and quiet.

It’s clear that the centre back position is going to see a massive overhaul and it’s been well reported that it’s #1 priority for INEOS.
Lindelof, Evans and probably Maguire will leave with Rafa and be replaced.
I suspect Tosin will be our 3rd CB signing and I’d actually sell AWB and sacrifice signing a backup RB, if we also sign Branthwaite and Todibo as we could rotate Todibo as a backup RB when Dalot needs a rest with Tosin or Kambwala as RCB depth.

varane is a great player but can't be relied upon due to injuries. I don't mind him going as long as there's a suitable replacement coming in.
I said when SJR announced they were taking over that he is a Glazer Enabler. I am hoping that Ineos make changes, but I very much doubt it with the Glazers owning half the club. Glazers out!

I can understand the reasoning behind the verane deciaion but only based on us replacing him with at minimum a todibo or similar. If we dont replace him with a quality young prospect then its a terrible decision

How is letting players run there contract down and get no transfer fee at all while paying them all their wages better than selling them for anything and even paying them off in some way. Surely some transfer fee is better than none.
Brailsford worries me. He was great in his time for cycling, but that was years ago and things have moved on dramatically. Just look at where Ineos are now in cycling
Several players will go this summer but we'll still be left with many players next season who are paid far too much, ain't anywhere near good enough or injury prone. I estimate it will take 4 or 5 years to rid ourselves of all the unwanted players unless Ineos can offer some players a financial compromise to go.
