You can see how having Sammata made us look so much better, the runs he made were exceptional. I reckon he'll get 7 goals from now until the end of the season with how we fire balls into the box and Jack being Jack.
Kieran Walker I’m coming back to this comment at the end of the season
TomMurphyMedia ok? lol
Congratulations on reaching the final! You showed great resilience over the two legs. Very happy for Nylund, some fantastic saves in both games. Especially the one he tipped on to the bar! Samatta looked lively and did okay I thought. That cross from El Mohamady at the end of the game was an absolute peach.
Good luck for the final! The other games from the season v City are meaningless for this one. Anything can happen in a final.
Two things we've now got in abundance, character and confidence. We have turned the proverbial corner.
Where are all the Dean Smith Out fans? Fickle aren’t you? I’ve said ALL along he’s the right man and look what’s happening. He’s got are Villa back from a tiny poor streak to a cup final and if we beat Bournemouth on the way to mid-table!! UTFV 🍀☘️🍀☘️🍀🇮🇪
yep i wished they would all just sod off!UTV
Mate, stop. He made some horrendous tactical decisions in the first half of the season. His team selection was questionable right up to Drinkwater starting... and he certainly didn't instill much discipline given all the points dropped late on. Had every right to question his fitness for the job. Come back in May puffin' your chest out when Villa are safe.
Great job again lads, keep it up.
Rewatched the game again and I never realise how good Samattas movement and positioning is, when defenders come up against players with good movement it occupies them, which is what samatta does, something we have been missing, wesley was abit obvious, I for one think we'll be fine, probably won't win the cup final but we'll stay in the Premiership
Upthevilla
Love these podcasts. Great work guys. Fun, informative and realistic.
Yes boys. Wembley, Wembley. Ah brings back memories from going in 94 & 96. Cheers. Glad you uploaded. AVFC VTID TVV UTV
Great job as always, thanks
Of all the Villa podcasts floating around the net these days you boys have by far the best chemistry and insight. Please keep up the good work. Considered setting up a Patreon?
Can confirm knob is worse than arse.
Great podcast as always guys.
So good to get into a final and another day out at Wembley . It was such a special night, everything just felt right and even when they scored I never felt we would lose in the full 90. Maddison had an off night but I believe him and Grealish both need to be in that euro squad and we will have a chance.
Samatta was good, good hold up and seems to have the intelligence to make the runs at the right times. Just would of topped the night of had he scored his chance from Jacks cross. Anyways I look forward to seeing him progress. Would like one more signing if possible but apart from that it’s positivity and onwards and upwards hopefully.
Love your guys work once again, UTVV UTV 💙💜⚽️
Thanks boys 😁❤ x
The upload we were all waiting for😄
Fully fully support your opinion Dan. West Brom play offs is the perfect example of what could have been the other night. Imagine 3 stands of the villa park doing that 😍😍😍
Through the shit spell we just looked shorn of confidence, and were nervously giving the ball away. However he has done it, Smith has turned it around and now I don't panic every time a Villa player has the ball in our half. And through it all we have possibly the best footballer any of us will ever see playing for the Villa, improving and growing game by game. If Grealish want's to stay at VP and the owners are willing to spend we could see something remarkable happen. UTV
Was a fantastic night and good to see us go for it. We got lucky at times but we also got our reward for being positive and defending resolutely. Whether we win or lose it's just good to be in a cup final as it is what football is about, and plus it will be a good first time experience for most of our players. Don't see many of our local rivals being in many over recent times... news of Bowen going to Palace which I would imagine points to Benteke coming back
Nyland was amazing. Jack was superb. UTV
Totally agree about the pitch invasion. A very selfish thing to do knowing the mess it makes of the pitch and also the fine we will get.
If I had to listen to you two sing again to win the cup I'd have to say were out lol
I feel like the lads are starting to meld together now. Keep building on the team and i think we will be fine the rest of the season. VTID
Agreed. Dan and Tom really coming together nicely.
YESSSS!!! Still Absolutely Flying!! 😁 Cheers for the unload lads been looking forward to this!! Wembley here we come 🤞💪💪
How good is nakamba getting aswell
I was surprised to read that in the 23 or so mins that Davis had been on that he had completed more dribbles than any other player on the pitch, it was double the nearest player to him in fact.
For me he's looked our most competent striker this year when he's been on - and he hasn't even scored this year. he just really needs a run of games.
Still no headed goals!! About time for one of our defenders to change that!
too tired to read all the comments, but just in case anyone is wondering btw -
El Ghazi with 6 is 3rd top scorer atm in all competitiions, with Hourihane in 2nd on 7. Hourihane has 3 in the league and 4 in the League Cup, whereas Anwar has 4 in the Prem and 1 in each Cup.
Villa Villa Villa! Villa Villa Villa!
Great podcast I must admit I didn't mind our fan's running on the pitch as they were just celebrating getting to a cup final.
@L V L S Bloody hell who let Five O out I do know it's illegal but the club haven't said anything about given anyone a ban who entered the pitch have they don't say you are going to grass everybody up who went on to celebrate the moment there were lot's of young children with parents I know the law but it's a joyous moment I personally wouldn't do it but each to there own nobody got hurt.
been watchin Jack since he was about 16. He's beginning to reach the potential heights we expected now, but you know what Dan? There are still muppets complaining he isn't 'that good'. Grealish is definately the best player I've ever seen at Villa - and I fell in love with the might Claret and Blue in time to see some seriously great players, and one day when I start calling for a stand to be named after him (hopefully a long time from now after he retires havig never left) I'm pretty sure there'll be plenty of folks joining me in doing so.
Hotel booked for Wembley already. Got my friends flying into London for the weekend again same as last couple yrs and honestly, I'm looking forward to it. Even if we do get battered 4-0.
Revenge vs Manure now that they can;t cheat the refs as easily would have been niec, but if we can somehow beat ManC on a pitch as big as Wembley... what a statment that would be when we're recruiting in the summer...
VTID Come on Villa!
Grealish's assist for Targett reminded me of TWO assists by Yorke for Andy Townsend in 1995-96. Holds the ball up, back flick for Townsend running in to the box and both times a goal. One was Vs Forest, the other Vs Sheff Wed. Beautiful football that I think we took for granted back then but have been starved off in more recent years
Kind of the same thing in a way to De gea with Nyland, not saying hes as good by any means but De Gea had a tough tough start like Nyland when he first joined United, but got used to the rough and tumble of the PL, and became unreal! Hopefully its the same sort of situation with Nyland, because he has been fantastic recently! Most impressive thing I've seen from Nyland was the catch against Burnley from the corner in the 90th minute, which was class, and was'nt something he did last season!
I am not on of these weirdos that have like 2 teams or have team in each league lmao, but I am egyptian. For that reason I do watch aston villa and want you guys to win except when you go against the team I have been supporting for about 5 years now. Hope the richest egyptian can invest well and get you guys back to the top part of the table where yous deserve to be, big club hope you smack the plastic mancs.
Thanks guys for a great podcast I really enjoyed it this week and had quite a few chuckles with some of the banter and jokes especially the love island audition tape. UTV
Davis Platt went in goals against Arsenal once, think we lost 5-1 was the season before he left for Bari I think. Only one I can remember
Yes, came here to say this-
I remember it. He was hopeless. Terrible positioning on some of the goals.
Typical that we finally get a striker and Davis is fit again and looked good when he came on
Been waiting for this 👌 UTV!
Great podcast guys UTV
It’s so sad that’s it’s just assumed grealish will leave at the end of the season
Hes worth the money now so teams will want him. If he stays im sure he will gain iconic status but at the end of the day it all depends how much he want to achieve that or trophies. Im Villa through and through but you couldn't blame the lad for leaving for the right offer because even with investment from the owners i still think we would be still looking at 5 years+ before we could be comfortably challenging for the top spots. Then again i could just be talking rubbish 👍
Time to get on patreon lads. Channel seems to need investment.
I’m SO happy we’re in the Carabao Cup Final! Hopefully we win it and make the blue scum cry as they won’t be able to boast about winning it more recently than us. Let’s hope we don’t do a Birmingham or Wigan where we win it and get relegated, that would be incredibly embarrassing. I do believe if we beat Bournemouth on my Birthday we might stay up this season. I’m not saying we’re gonna stay up but I think it increases the chances greatly of us staying up this season. UTV 🍀🍀🍀🇮🇪
completely agree
we're staying up.
West Ham have an interesting fixture list, with a much easier end to the season than they've got this next few fixtures but go through it and the points you can see Villa taking from those games, honestly can't see any of the bottom 5 getting as many from here on.
So long as Jack stay fit.
Bloody love Elmo!!!! 💜💙
The claret and blue podcast has taken your crown 👑
Jack Minto why?
Coffee Revels are the worse?!!!!!!!!!
Wrong.
Great poddy though! 😃
peanuts are worse !
Lovely intro 😂😂😂😂
When he dropped his zip I dropped a like
Platt went in goal, think against Arsenal.
Pretty sure we got thrashed that day, did he come on for a penalty?
Yeh he did. And Neil Cox ended up in goal in 1994, Villa had just won the Coca Cola Cup and on auto pilot, we got beat 4-1 at the Dell and Cox took over for a red carded Nigel Spink. The Villa fans broke the crossbars of the goal at the end of the game if I recall.
It's British Broadcasting Corporation. Tom getting it wrong again 😂
Whats going on with these PodCasts Tom and Dan, sure they are getting released further apart from when last one was released which is a shame because I enjoy them and listening to you guys. Our passing hasn't been good at all for some months, but against Leicester it was on point for most of the game. Cracking game it was, I havnt got a bad thing to say about our team after Leicester game. Nyland played wonderfully, yet i agree with Dan I think PEPE is the main man, even if Heaton comes back, PEP is a cut above the rest and he can pick players and runs out at pinpoint accuracy it seems. I'd like us to keep Nyland no matter what, he deserves the chance at our club and I've always enjoyed watching Nyland and to come back from fan criticism is just amazing from the lad. Jack and Target ruled the nest, it was like Target was prowling when Jack chipped it his way, Targets slow running was very cat like sniping as if he was after his prey. I thought Nakamba4Eva did well, he seemed to be everywhere at the right time. Mings was ace and he makes me nervous when he slides and over stretches. Ghazi I thought was ok, but he's showing signs of not getting any better, I feel he's missing an awful lot of chances. Trezeguet I actually think seems to battle on and on to the point he goes that extra mile over Ghazi, his soft shot though omg and at that point I said we needed two new wingers five mins before extra time, then Trez made me eat my words with his fabulous goal. Samatta I think will be a great signing, he showed signs of wanting to work and make things happen can't wait till his fitness his up. Konsa played ok, his one let down was letting Nacho in unguarded for that nice strike which was unfortunate. Guilbert played very good, he's fast, got some skills and seems to be everywhere, I enjoy seeing him attack. Luiz was playing like magic, I like Luiz and I want to see more of him on the pitch because he's got quality in him. All and all the lads were great and they seem to be hitting there stride now. Everything seems to be falling into place and at the right time for Smith.
Did you notice the corner flag stopping the ball, well the same happened last night in the Manchester semi final, how often do you see one of those happen let alone two hitting the corner flag in both Semi finals.
Jacks running from the right over to the left after being swapped completely threw the foxes game right off. I think our switching completely got to them, even our passes from wing to wing annoyed the foxes.
david rowntree we addressed this in the podcast....
Didn't Ugo once go in goal late on? Something like a big away loss to Southampton or someone.
I was thinkng it had happened vs Bolton or Blackburnm maybe even Sheff Wed, one of the smaller clubs like that, but yeah whoever it was I vaguely remember an away Prem game where we had to put outfield player in goal.
I hope we dont do a Middlesborough in 97! They got to two cup finals and still got relegated!
Try 'The Boys'. I'm not into superhero stuff normally but this show is great, very original, it grabs you in the first 5 minutes and becomes compulsive viewing, well it did for me anyway. It's on Amazon.
Love your podcasts, think if we turn up at Bournemouth and make take the game to them early their crowd will get very nervous, they know like we do how important it is to win this game. Really hope Samatta can score on debut, not many strikers we bought over recent years have scored on debut, cant think of any for sure, but maybe Bent did? And maybe A Young did but he weren't a striker. Win this game and get something from Spurs at home and we will have a little cushion going into tougher spell of fixtures coming up, and will build a little more confidence coming up to the final. UTV!
interstelladwella I’ve actually watched the boys recently!
always remember Heskey scoring with his arse against Wigan the week after we signed him from them... but tbh the ball hit him and might not have been his arse. My memory is shocking
@@geordievillan yeah, now you mention it he did score on debut I'm sure, but I remember it as one that kinda rolled down his leg as he hit it
SAS who dares wins is a very good reality tv show, give it the watch, they don't half give them Sh!t.
In my sick bed and this was a gift from God .( not McGrath)
Cheers boys
Utv
When Grealish leaves, I believe it will either be to Real Madrid or Barcelona. When he goes to the Euros and showcases his talents to the World, he will become a global superstar, trust me.
I despise the feeling of tracksuit tops on my bare skin. At least that one doesn't have a full zip. Can't believe Tom was ok with that.
James Rushton it is full zip!
@@danbardell8616 disgustang
I’d 100% have Nyland over Steer
Smash and grab special. GK MOM in both legs 🤣
Pitch invasion is tinpot for me! Ruins celebration for team and everyone else
We win as a team lose as a team end of. UTV💪we go every year Wembley 🎉🎉keep up the good work lads. Ray Donovan ☘️
Villa fans walk into the Green Man. Bar man says "the usual?"
UTV
Seen the highlights from kally’s debut for toulouse, looked as pathetic as I remember. Get him gone ASAP
Great podcast Dan & Tom. Really look forward to these as you are both quite funny but knowledgable. I agree, Jaz should not go on love island.
She should barely even be on this podcast tbh
I swear Neil Cox had to go in goal once.
could have been Cox. He played for us around '94 when we beat Manu in the Cup (played? ... cant remember at 05:00 lol) and I remember it happening from when I was younger, but really main thing I remember is it being against a team in blue and white... so coulldda been amnyone lol.
Was it maybe the 3-0 away loss at Ewood Park the season before when we finished second?
were the famous Aston Villa And we going to Wembley.UTV
Douglas Luis and Nakamba are starting to control the midfield now I think we will just stay up this season
Great game!! But for me Pepe Reina has to play.. nyland was class against Leicester but you have to play you’re best players. Hence Jamie vardy should have started for Leicester!!
Be criminal if they dont start nyland in the final
lcvilla legend have to decide... do you want more chance of winning or give nyland what he deserves?
Joe Thompson well I think it’s obvious what we all want, we not playing and investing more into the cup if we don’t have a chance to win it. If you ask the players I’m sure they would also pick Pepe to start. We have to pick a team who has more chance to win. What do you think?
Dont really see us having a chance of winning
lcvilla legend dean smith is probably thinking that nyland let 6 in a few weeks ago at villa park against city
Talk about us needing consistency on the pitch, we need Tom and Dan Bloody Consistency in the Booth. We all know you both do the best you can and we appreciate your time, maybe we need subs for you both for when your both having off days due to not having time or other things pop up. What about doing collaborations with the VillaTour lads sometimes.
You boys are slacking, claret and blue podcast will be taking over soon 😁
lcvilla legend they should be, it’s their full time job
@@danbardell8616 oh right i didnt know that
Still the best podcast....
I love both
This is by far the best podcast. Other one’s not worth watching.
Was enjoying this until you started discussing if/when Grealish leaves. Not a fan of the mentality of some fans who just accept him leaving as inevitable. The club, and us fans, should be doing everything in our power to make him stay! Whatever another club offers him, fucking match it!
Sick of fans trying to sell him off to other teams!
lol sorry dan but tom is right. jack switched to the right when trez came on.
Referencing previous stuff like old players is not a 'useless' skill. It's what differentiates real fans from makeweights.
In my opinion Nyland is currently our best keeper. But the issue with Nyland is that he's obviously a confidence player which is not good in the premier league because there's so many Top 100 strikers in this league that you'll always concede every week and lose games here and there (even for the top clubs) which means he will always be so inconsistent. I reckon he would do well in the Spanish/Italian league
Hes definitly better than steer he should be no2 behind heaton
1. Yorke
2. Grealish
3. McGrath
4. Young
5. Merson
Please don't ever sing again lads, Simon Cowell would have a field day with you two.
If Grealish goes then I'm done with football, especially Man United. Absolutely no point in watching if all our players just go to these 'good clubs who have a chance of winning something'. Keep your best players and get the club in a position to win something rather than being a feeder club. It's pathetic.
I was going to dislike just for the very beginning. I'll never get that time back....Thanks :P
🤣
I’m still Smith Out but I’m not going to lie he’s getting me to think he’s the right man for the job again which I thought I’d never say. 💜💙 🍀☘️🇮🇪
Unpopular opinion but i thought Sematta looked poor. Davis looked miles better when he came on.
60 minutes against top opposition after a few training sessions and a winter break. Fuck me.
He got into great positions he was just a bit rusty, you can tell he will score goals
Hadn’t played in the prem before. 1 weeks training. Got 60 minutes. Be’ave yourself, man 🙄
@MegaBarnes1981 Can we give Davis a chance as well? All that i ask for
Pathetic comment
