Merci Gilles pour toutes ces merveilles musicales que tu nous as offertes depuis tant d'années ! Et j'espère que nombres d'autres viendront... aucune raison que ça s'arrête, n'est-ce pas ? Keep up the good work Sir !
2:18 that stuff is so smooth. You know how when the music's good, you close your eyes and kinda frown? So like that, but ×10 so that I had to laugh when I realized how stupid my face looked. Repeat 20× but without laughing.
03/10/2023: I'll be seeing Timara tonight for a Riverdale sunset - I'm not sure yet who'll be carrying who home. Then one more run and it's curtains on this long lonesome summer that I finally, irrevocably, and graciously lost my marbles. Life in the big city
can someone tell me what's so good about this song? Ina good way! I'm starting to listen to jazz after being used to classical and I would love to hear the opinion of someone used to this type of music. Have a great day!
the Groove of this guys is incredible, but is not strict jazz, more like a mix between afrobeat, jazz, funk...pfff, great musicians with an incredible sound; if you want to go into pure jazz there´s an entire world out there!! :)))
At the least, this is my opinion, but I’ve listened to both styles...so I still hope you actually read this my sister 😊 With classical music, it’s an unspoken disciplined tone that you have, as far as tempo, the striking of certain chords, etc. During the periods this was popular, (and composed) it was a great sound sought after to mostly gain a sense of the “perfectionist“ and even was well represented of those of the rich, upper-classes to show prestige, exude taste and prove that you had, well, class lol As opposed to this, there’s a more relaxed atmosphere and breathing space. There’s room for error and you find yourself wanting to dance to the beats like no one is watching. Classical music made people cry sometimes, because it is beautiful, but have you ever danced and cried to any classical music? I have cried twice, but let me tell you those jazz notes hit you differently...with my experience with classical music emotions, I had to almost take my tears back, as others were looking, watching me closely and judging...but jazz will make a 92-year-Old bust out in a smooth groove any day. You let go of outside influences, you live. I’ve actually put the genres to the test, in the past, I’ve ask questions to my kids on different types of music, and played classical to rock to jazz, all that. Classical music corrected their posture before they spoke, their body language was calm, even when answering they spoke correctly (eh, minus my 4 year old, who, after a few songs, dubbed it “boring”).........but JAZZ?! They initially smiled, bobbed their heads, got out the chair to dance, they came to life! Even my two year old can recognize the difference, she’s more conservative of energy listening to classical. She comes close to me, but won’t touch me, her eyes sort of dart around the room. Eventually, she will touch my leg, but being her mom it felt almost forced (like she needed my help, but couldn’t ask how). But jazzier songs made her immediately grab my hand as she shrieked gladly and she wanted me to dance with her! (I played a song my dad and I danced to, too. The reaction was priceless, and will stay in my heart!) Might I recommend a song, by George Benson-Breezin’ made in 1976. That’s called “old school jazz”, a classic, it’s disciplined in tempo, but still groOOOovy, baby! I grew up to stuff like this 😎👍🏾 My sister, I hope you enjoy the experience of jazz, that it grows roots, and you find some great artists in the process! Bless you!
