I'm so tired of new K-stans not giving credit where it's due. Every top 10 list you see mentions SNSD , Twice BTS. What they failed to even realize. Is that even TVXQ would not have had an opportunity to debut. If BOA haven't brought SM out of the brink of bankruptcy. We probably wouldn't even have a SM today. Not my words as is coming directly from SM themselves. So with all due respect to all the great idols. It's time you pay a little respect to those who made it all happen. Furthermore how many Korean female artists do you know which are MC's on Produce 10l lol. I highly suspect BoA to be a producer someday herself. She even has a permanent residence in the Museum of Contemporary History in Seoul. Among others who started the K-Pop Revolution globally. I haven't even gotten to Japan yet which reads like a who's who of K-Pop. Very few K-artists these days. Could ever hope to have even a fraction of the career that BOA has had. So stop shading the real Queen of her legacy.
Those idols that are mentioned credit HER for their inspiration and start. She is the idol's idol. If you ever see her perform at one of Korea's music festivals, when she heads to the stage, it's like the parting of the Red Sea backstage. They KNOW. I just wish their fans did.
She was well known as j-pop artist than k-pop, because how strong j-pop influences on her discography. so I prefer called her muse of asian pop than queen of kpop.
You gotta put some respect in BoA's name and her 22-year-old career, she's the definition of K-pop, the blueprint, she saved SM from bankruptcy at such a young age (13 years old), the others must write it down. That's why she's called the Best of Asia, period. Paved the way for each K-pop generation and influenced so many people and they are too scared to even compete with BoA till this day, let's be real. We also can't forget that she was really the first K-pop artist to burst into the J-pop scene and make a cultural impact, she slays the game in any language. She just outsells, I'mma put it that way 🥰 The others can't relate, not in their vocabulary, anyways... Let's all hail BoA, the one and only Queen/Empress of K-pop 😍 (Although i don't like these labels, since we pretty much know BoA's worth and she does herself, but it just needs to be said.)
This why she is THE Queen of KPop, the Muse of Asia. She's been going strong for 20 years and she's just getting warmed up. If the entire industry doesn't pay homage to their queen on her 20th anniversary, I give up on it.
Seeing this all together like this made me feel old and nostalgic at the same time. Is it sad i know all the songs? Mmmm no. Lol I can't believe it's been 20yrs. I grew up with these songs, from her initial pre-debut snippets of a young dancing girl with hair flaying every where swaying so coolly and gracefully, training so hard to be successful to where she is now. It's almost unbelievable. I remember how in the infancy of the internet it was so difficult to find interesting content yet she more than stood out but jumped to grab your attention. All the jumping BoA's whom have follwed her from the beginning know where I'm coming from. She was my role model, i auditioned for kpop star just to meet her.... lol didn't work, for a long time not saying she isn't anymore but my endearment for her has changed to that of high regard. Her autographed poster is one of my most precious treasures. BoA unni God bless you! Continue to make beautiful music!
