Another really good name would be Greyling, I just feel like it's perfect. If not, I'm fine with Sophia, it just sounds a little weird.
Man i could feel that he really didnt want to let that go. They will renovate their house but he will always stand on his driveway and just feel his heart crack.

I grew up since age 13, watching you Emelia. Your content has always excited me to made me love cars more than I ever did before. And here I am at age 18 going to college to become an automotive mechanic and manager of a shop someday. Without you and your content, I would've not loved cars as much or learned as much as I have so far. Thank you

This video hit home a bit. My dad had a 69 SS with a 396. He had it into the mid-80's. I was born in 75. It was supposed to be my graduation gift, but I had 2 siblings born in the early 80's. Dad had to sell it to help support 3 kids. Many years later, I ended up buying a 2010 SS that was the same midnight blue color. My dad was excited because I got mine from the same dealership that his came from. I felt his pain when I had to sell mine to help our family move. Maybe I'll get another one day. Fun cars!
Sometimes it shocks me how much those old muscle cars have skyrocketed in value in the last 15 years. I remember a time where old camaros or chavelles were a dime a dozen on classified selling for less than $10k. People couldn't get rid of them. Now a really well restored one goes for a quarter million, its wild. Especially since, while hella cool, that platform is not good to drive.
Most of the unrestored classics still floating around the country got destroyed in 2009-2010 when Obama ran Cash for Clunkers, they all got turned into scrap metal :(
Man isn’t that the truth! It was only like 10 years ago I remember the same thing for classics. I saw a Ferrari Dino selling for 30k (around 2010) and this was when people were talking shit about them because they “weren’t a real Ferrari”. Now you can’t find one in drivable condition for less than around 500k

The car had to be registered recently and they only paid $1000. Most cars in driving condition were worth more than 1k.
Classic cars were not even eligible for Cash for Clunkers. They only destroyed cars less than 25 years old. Not a single classic muscle car was less than 25 years old at that time.@@cs83

As usual there was more to it than made it through Republican committees, they only kept the 'tax breaks for new car sales' part.
Gotta take that family on some rides when you get her cleaned up. I though Dean was my new favorite but seeing them get to ride in the Camaro again would be great😭

You are a rare breed of true car enthusiast - rare because you truly seem to love all cars. I haven’t really even checked out your channel, but I will watch the new videos that pop up and I love how you’re into Italian supercars, Japanese, and American. It seems that many enthusiasts only love a certain type, but you seem to love and appreciate everything. And how does someone your age even know what a Daytona is?!!! I love how you’ve only sold one car in your life, and that laugh when you’re blasting through a tunnel to hear the engine - you can’t fake that enthusiasm. You know how to turn a wrench and drive a stick. And you’re an advocate for mental health. And such a good friend - how you hooked up Sandy’s family with a Honda Civic and then fixed up his truck. You inspire me. Simply wow. 👏🏼
As a Camaro enthusiast myself I’m excited to see that you have what seems is a clean palette to work with and can get back to ‘building’ a great car!
I’m 28 and a 67’ owner (inherited shell from my late father) and it’s nice seeing another young owner. A clean first gen is very very hard to find with Chevy not having coated the inside of the panels these were very prone to rotting.

Funny, they took the corner support bars off. Make sure you get them. They go in each front corner under the hood. Might make the front unibody section not rigid.
I am a kid from England, who had a toy one of these as a boy. I am now 60! As a teen on vacation in Florida I remember seeing cars like this for $2K or less? Because back then, they were just 'old' cars. I can't believe that now $40k is a 'bargain'. It's the same in the UK. What were almost 'routine' cars are now $40k or in some cases way more. Anyway, well done to Emelia. These are 'real' cars with no stupid warning lights! And petrol engines!

I'm stoked to see you purchase a '60s classic! But, the first thing that came to mind, is that the more you modify it, the less value it will have. Even if it's just a 307 / automatic, as long as the numbers match, that car is worth more as it sits today than it will be tomorrow if you do a swap. If the numbers don't match, well then, it's open season. Just don't go insane with body mods and 20-in wheels etc. They just don't belong on a classic! Either way, I am staying tuned to watch this build!!

My favorite year for the Camaros! If you stick with that color (which looks really nice, btw), I think you should name her The Grey Ghost! If it's not all original, under the hood and elsewhere, then a 4 speed, and a late model LS build might be appropriate, although a well-built automatic will definitely be quicker if you plan on running it at the strip.😉

I get how he feels, back in the late seventies I had a pair of '67s that were kinda rough. An RS and a regular coupe, one auto, 1 manual.
In the spring of 1968 there was a '67 in lot of the apartment complex we lived in, 10 year old decided then id own one.
Knew a bunch of guys who had muscle and parts. Had one who had an L88 427, apart in his garage, others with transmissions, body parts and so on. Working in the driveway didn't help living in New Jersey.
In the end I got rid of both.
Over the years I did own a few though. Also had a '74 LT, a brand new '74 Z28, 5.0 H.O., an '85 IROC-Z 5.0 TPI and an '87 IROC-Z 5.7 TPI.
Awesome project! We're working on a 1968 Camaro right now and are milling some custom badging for the front fenders. We recreated the "327" font to update it to the 376 that's in there now. If you end up doing anything similar we would love to send you whatever badging you need to make this car your own! Gratis. Cheers and good luck on this one!

Sweet ride, my dream ride also and it’s in great shape and had a great price. I’d definitely make her a sleeper. I’d have to French the bumpers and have the front and rear glass done without the trim like kendigit does and put a set of his door handles on it also. Possibilities are endless for a timeless classic like that! Congrats!

It's inspiring to see a young woman such as you have a passion for cars and restoration and rebuilding. I'm 68 years old and love the old muscle cars. I'm basically a Ford guy and my dad was a Chevrolet person. Even though I like Ford my favorite car and truck are the 1957 Chevy.

That gray color is really tasteful and I'm glad to hear you're planning to keep it for now. I'm not sure what I think about that color on the bumpers, however. Any plans to restore them to chrome? I kind of like when classic muscle cars look mostly stock on the outside (just wheels and tint), but are completely modded under the hood.
If it was me, I would give it back to them. I know it’s your dream car but you could probably buy another one with the views you would get.

This one hit me in the feels. I sold a 1969 Datsun 2000 I had for over 25 years, tucked away in a garage. Circumstances changed and I had to sell it, but luckily it went to a real enthusiast who is taking great care of it. Still regret selling it though.........

The 1969 Camaro is my all time dream car! I found one sitting at a mechanic shop a few years ago but didnt pull the trigger and now they just cost too much even rusted out shells. Super excited for this series!

That's a really clean looking Camaro, I know how Sergio feels, I had to sell my 1966 Mustang Fastback that I owned 26 years when I was homeless and living in my 1998 BMW 528is, I couldn't afford the storage fees when my unemployment ran out in 2011.

My buddy and I were driving along hwy 35 from Temple to Austin when he noticed what he thought was a camaro.
We doubled back and sure enough, it was a 69 Z28 that had been rolled in a drag race. it had the orginal 302dz engine in the trunk.
He bought it, brought it home and we restored it over the next 3 years. I loved riding in that car, it was extremely fast and reliable.
Building that car encouraged me to buy my dream car (69 427/390hp) vette. I restored that car and sold it. Had a great time owning it, driving it, and selling it.
Follow your dreams, they can come true if you put forth the effort to achieve them.

Congrats. I bought mine as my first car build in 1992. Kept it all these years. The base car I bought I paid $600. No rust but needed everything so I did a full (sub)frame off build. It is the picture in my RUclips id. Have fun. There is an endless amount of stuff you can do. Drive it and enjoy. Sounds like you guys do not play around when it comes to HP.

Great buy. Hope you keep the small block in it and build that. I have a 68 Camaro 3 speed manual and couldn’t ever sell it.
I was finally able to go and watch Gran Turismo. Great movie. Took my 20-something year old kids to see it. We all enjoyed it. The fact that you were in it. Made it worth seeing in the first place. Can't wait to see the things you do in the future.
