The probability is then 2/10 that the first impostor is from the chosen pair, then 1/9 that the second impostor is the other from the previous round. We then have a probability of (1)(2/10)(1/9) = 2/90 or about 2.2% to repeat impostor pairs. Alternatively, we can find the probability based on how many possible pairs can be chosen. For 10 people where we choose 2 simultaneously, there are 45 unique combinations. Just like the above argument, the probability for any random pair is 1, but now the probability that a specific unique pair is chosen is 1/45 which gives us (1)(1/45) = 1/45 which is again about 2.2%.
