Ok, I edited my comment because I have a new idea. To your first question, the disguise is possible because Cale has an item to dye his hair and like others. However, this item would immediately be noticed by Rosalyn, the great mage. Therefore, as the inviter, I do like to see what would happen next and help a little bit. (This will be explained on the later parts.) Meanwhile for Cale, I kinda messed up his character as I exaggerated his vicious part. Don't get me wrong tho, he would definitely do it in canon but like won't be that urgent to destroy everything. Like see what he had done in TCF💀

If you're talking at the start, yeah she couldn't really see because Cale doesn't want her mother to know about his trash act because he knows her mother would be upset. On the other, she couldn't read all of it because she just saw some of the lines and immediately didn't want to see. Because she's deep in thought and may or may not skip some part. This is really normal in my opinion because not all people can still focus while they're deep in thought.
