Disney doesn’t have the soul and heart that Dollywood has, they USED to but Disney is so commercialized and corporate now that it detracts from the experience.
I have to say I love both Disney and Dollywood. I love how friendly Dollywood is. I do believe the ride discussion just depends on the type of rides you like. I do love a good coaster park; however, I also love a good themed animatronic dark ride. :) We have definitely found ourselves enjoying Dollywood more lately because of the price and proximity to where we live.
Just got back from Dollywood and while Disney/Universal has my heart. I can easily see how one would prefer Dolly to Disney. Its much easier to navigate, cheaper and has way shorter lines even the last week in July. You don't have to be experienced with Dollywood to have a great time. If you don't know how Disney/Universal works you will spend most of your time in line
I think Dollywood is better, but I wouldn't say that Disney World isn't worth it. Disney just hasn't been making many good decisions in recent years regarding how they take care of their parks. Right now, I prefer Dollywood over all the Disney World parks except Magic Kingdom.
As someone one who lives in Florida, and a former wdw passholder of six years, we enjoy Dollywood way more than wdw. We will be back staying in pigeon Forge in June, and going to Dollywood obviously again.
If you are looking for cool rides and good theming you should go to Disney or Universal. If you are looking for one of a kind intense roller coasters then go to Dollywood
I would defiantly disagree, on queuing for rides. I was there on Monday 12/30 and I understand it was the busiest day of the year however every ride was over an hour wait and food lines where also over and hour wait. Forget about mobile ordering all those where full to. Yes ticket prices are more affordable at $99 for any day ticket however Disney Epcot has festivals all year long, including food/wine and flower/garden.
You are not wrong. We love most every theme park we have been too. But Disney parks aren't what they used to be. And Dollywood has become our new favorite for all the reasons you said. Their fall and Christmas events are especially amazing!
I haven't been to dollywood or Disney World but I think one think that makes dollywood special is that while it may not have the theming of Disney parks or the thrills of cedar point it still excels in both areas making it a happy medium for both thrill seekers and theme park lovers. That being said I dont know how dollywood can hold its own against 4 Disney parks like if you like it better than any particular Disney park that's fair but I dont think 1 herschend can compare to 4 Disney parks

i love the rides and all but all the skilled craftspeople they have that do the demonstrations is probably my favorite part about dollywood.

Dollywood is much cheaper but it doesn't really come close to Disney World if you do it right and stay multiple days at a deluxe resort.

I love Dollywood. I been going every year since 2010 I think. Didn’t go 2020 or 2021. But it’s such a great park and has is so amazing
