Datto is so special to me because he’s grown with me. Going back to Datto does happiness, I remember being really invested and inspired by that video. Then when he did his makeover videos a little after that, I remember also being incredibly inspired. Going all the way back to Dark Below, I remember him mentioning how if things didn’t pick up, this whole thing was going to be over for him. I remember him first joining up with the dream team and being mind blown. I remember watching the video where he met Daniel, while I was in study hall. I can’t help but feel that I’ve shared his trajectory in a lot of personal ways, and it makes me so happy to see where his life has gotten to now. He’s come so far from that one room apartment (even if I do sometimes miss it) I suppose that times change, and it’s important that we do as people as well, and I feel like Datto is a shining example of that. So thank you Datto, you’ve done a lot for so many people, over these 11 long and winding years. I was probably only 12 or so, and am now finishing up college soon. It really is crazy how much things change, and how much time has seemingly gone right on by…

Datto, i saw you start the channel when first news of Destiny start trickling and sometime later subbed into your channel (in between D1 and The Dark Below times). I was in college, and in a way your videos, your content, your creativity and all your work has been a constant company even when i wasnt playing Destiny for X or Y reason. You were part of my inspirations to do my little ventures into being a youtuber and video editing (to way less success than you 🤣but i learned a lot and used that for a while to get money)
This year i will be 29, I have your videos in the background when doing office work, cooking or just wanting some good Datto vibes. Sometimes i go back and watch some old content cause i loved the reaction or specific moments.
Even if Destiny would end tomorrow, i will keep looking for the next thing you make. Thank you for this 11 years of virtual company. Here is for another 11 years 🍺 and see you on the next video ❤

It’s a little frustrating for the RUclipsrs I am subscribed to. You for example Datto, I’m a member with all notifications on. And I still don’t get notified when you upload a video. Same for fruit and a few other channels.
That being said though congrats to 11 years and here’s to 11 more!

DAWG the past 11 years been crazy I started playing at 14 after watching my dad fumble around in vault of glass, I SWEAR I was studying your videos mid encounter with raid groups and your guides worked every time. Now I’m almost 2 degrees deep and I’ve been taken in by the deep again because the first friend I ever made and played destiny with is coming back to kill the darkness with me and his cousin and it’s like a family reunion thanks for helping me get so many raid loots, I got my Vex on my second ever hard mode kill, I got the thousand voices twice on my first kill, outbreak prime within the day of the guide releasing along with a day one (or two) clear of Kings Fall when it released just by that guide. So many other guides so much knowledge. Thanks Datto
Much as I hate to admit it, I think Final Shape will be my final stop. It's been a crazy ride since I picked the game up shortly after Taken King, before my first deployment 8 years ago. I got my wife into the game and these last few years have really started to show the cracks in the game. I find myself just kinda... going through the motions with Destiny now but I'm too far invested into the story to quit before it's over. It has been lovely meeting you at both GCX and when you and Danielle came to England, hope you still have the coin I gave you, but I think this is where Master Pluto steps off of the Destiny Train and wishes it well as it leaves the station. What a wild ride this has been since I picked up the game, found your guides, Byf's lore vids and Mr Fruit's silly vids. Thanks for making the last, oh jesus, 9 years so memorable, Datto.
I am so happy how far you have come from "Datto does happiness" video. Gives me hope for my own life, that everything can become better in time if you put effort into it. Thank you Datto for working so hard for so long.
The only other content creator that I've watched for this long is Jerma. Datto content is so consistent and enjoyable. I rewatch the compilation videos at least once a year and its always amazing to see how he changes over the years but somehow keeps the same charm.

Crazy to think I been playing destiny since I was 17 and I’m now 27 and that entire time I’ve always referred to you for guides and my friends were referred. I recently had a buddy who passed away that I was able to get into destiny and I knew he was fully invested when one day we were playing and he said “did you see Dattos new video”

Honestly, dattos ad reads are the only I don't skip, only because there's no jarring transition, so I don't get like a shock reminder to skip it, and then I end up enjoying them

I remember the first time I watched a video from you, Datto. I was sitting in a Subway next to a GameStop, just kinda browsing RUclips on my phone while eating. I wasn't very interested in Destiny based solely on the cardboard cutout advertisements I saw (I recall saying "oh so it's CoD but in space? Not interested") but I had just seen the trailer for House of Wolves and my interest was slightly piqued. You made a video on the reveal and the way you broke everything down made me go "wait...this is that same game?" and I went back to watch your prior Destiny uploads. I picked the game up immediately, and for better or worse, I've been hooked on Destiny to this day.

It's so nostalgic to see you back to that park! That was a video that really struck me back in the day. How is Holtzmann doing? Do you still hang out?
Not sure if you will actually read or answer the comment, but. A couple of years ago, I were rather synonymous with damage testing, weapon reviews and seemed excited on the perspective of Destiny becoming RPG-like to the point you could flesh out this type of content more. Specially in a time were the game was simplified to its bones.
That day has come, but damage tests, build guides and so forth haven't really sprout out on the channel. It seems it has beem generally superseeded by people like Aegis, Llama and to an extent, even CoolGuy. Sure, you did, for example, talk about the exotic changes in the Season of the Wish update, but it felt more like general (and insightful, of course) commentary. Aegis seem to do a full "changes to endgame breakdown" and CoolGuy dips in a video reviewing an exotic with build ideas for every change.
Not saying you don't do any of these, but I was surprised when a friend asked me what weapons he should be looking for in raids after coming from a break, and what Titan builds are currently viable, and the videos I could point to him from you were few and a bit old. You ended up not even doing a Warlord Ruin's guide.
How do you see your approach to this kind of content nowadays, and what are usually your goals with them?
I never comment on videos, but I had to make this one. I watched your datto does happiness video about 1 hour before this one came out, then spent the next hour reflecting on just how incredible I think your and your career have been since. Most importantly, just how much happier you have been in general. Then this video came out… wild moment. Congrats on the milestones datto, keep up the good work

That Suicide Squad review was genuinely an entertaining watch, I've always known you as "The Destiny Guy with very level headed and informed takes" but it was really fun to hear your thoughts an a game that is similar yet different. Hearing you're making some kind of video essay really excites me, because I have a feeling you're going to give it the same attention that you do all your other videos. It's a shame that your variety content wasn't doing too hot here but I am excited to (hopefully) see more of it on the other channel, along with that badass fire stunt video you did. Really glad I found your channel all the way back in D1, and I was so happy when I got back into D2 to see you still holding it down on this channel. Found Datto in Christmas of 2014 when I go into Destiny with the Dark Below. Datto has been the only Destiny channel I've ever subbed to and I'll keep subbed even after I call it quits with the Final Shape.

I think the thing regarding RUclips Shorts with low interaction is if you do notify your subs, RUclips only recommends it outside of your subs if your subs engage with it with decent percentage. If your subs don't engage, YT thinks no one else will either. I remember hearing something about that from Pirate Software
