My IT department likes me because I come to them with actual problems that I can't do on my own and tell them all the details of things I tried. I also had a problem where part of the error message was "contact your network administrator," and in the ticket I said "it said to contact my administrator, I am contacting my administrator." The head of IT said "that's a great ticket, I love it."
Also it’s amazing at how behind people in the US are in learning computers and having the mindset they don’t want to learn. India and China will end up crushing us because they have a mindset that technology is a part of their jobs and take initiative to learn it.
The amount of std in a nurse should be your first concern, second is that the nurse is obviously cheating on their partners and last that nurse will steal shit from their patients
While in the USAF I became the second person in the office. This was well before Windows. The PCs booted up to a DOS Prompt. I received a call for help from one of the Squadrons. After some troubleshooting, I ended up replacing the DOS boot files. I asked if anyone had done anything and a Captain stated that he'd edited a file (for some stupid reason) he'd actually edited one of the 3 boot files. I respectfully and gently informed him that files with either a file name then a (.) With the last 3 letters were either (COM) or (EXE) were not meant to be edited, doing so would necessitate replacing the file. Pilots were great when it came to flying but turned into morons when confronted with a Desktop PC.
@JamesDavy2009 I wouldn't know anything about Airbus pilots, I've only interacted a bit with less than 10 AF pilots and most of those were Okie Dokie, they just had some gross stories from the Vietnam War it was really mostly this one moron that formed my opinion.
I work at a prep school in IT and the programmer story reminded me of this one time when we had some holiday clinics and this chess coach said hey you work in IT, can you create a thing where a poster shows up on all of the kids laptops that says chess is cool or something similar to get them to go to the chess clinic, I looked at him so foul, I'm sure he got the message. I told my boss and he just laughed.
The graphics drivers one reminds me of my friends gf😂 “lately any game that comes out I just can’t play, everything just crashes as soon as I get into the loading screen” …. I ask when the last time she updated the drivers, and got, “update what?” Well the pc hadn’t had a single driver update since the release of the ryzen 1600…. It’s funny how all of a sudden she can play games again after 1 graphics driver update🤦🏼♀️ She is horrible when it comes to computers, while in discord she was deleting apps/files/games coz she was running out of room “hmmm I don’t know what this is, ehhh delete”… proceeds to somehow delete steam off her computer completely… then a year later she deletes a windows file and had to reinstall windows 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
I work in software development. The business team keeps asking us desktop support questions. Which would be OK I guess, but we don't have enough staff to do our normal work, and absolutely don't have the resources to also be the secondary IT support team.
During the pandemic I did one of these jobs and I made 8k a month. Not saying which one because AL is always watching and I would love to work for them again.
My own IT fail Was setting up windows hello on my laptop Closes the lid This locks the windows session you were just in and needs the still unconfirmed windows hello data for login I proceeded to try brute forcing it by creating another account in recovery mode logging into that one and removing the stuck account Ended up resetting it since it would be faster and I hadn’t done much to it at this point that I couldn’t immediately get back
I do computer repair and my pet peeves are when people double click hyperlinks. The blue ones that are under lined you know like webpage links. The over the shoulder hover people I will not allow. Even if the issue is something I can fix in 2 minutes I always tell them to leave it to be picked up the next day.

I work in IT and cannot believe how stupid most people are and how unwilling they are to learn.

The story about the French dude who stole the kid’s identity is literally the plot of Orphan: First Kill

The amount of nurses who did not know what a browser was… it made me very nervous for their patients.

The fact that they had to explain 7 different times that lawyers quit if you don’t pay them is hilarious.

Unless they're Airbus pilots.

I’m currently learning IT and I guess this is preparation for what I’ll have to deal with in the field
Be prepared for a lot of PICNICs.

My favorite advice we got often from the IT dept was Turn it off then back on. It worked majority of the time 😊
As someone with a family friend who does I.T work . This made me lose brain cells and face palm profusely .

Sounds like a UI issue

ADS BE SHORT IF YOU ARE GOING TO REPEAT OVER AND OVER
You know that story about keeping files in the recycle bin? It’s an actual thing. I’ve seen it happen too. Government employe, even. Dear God.
It's like keeping important documents next to the paper shredder.
