This is SHOCKING! Chevelle is broke!

- I took the Chevelle out for a cruise and a few important nuts and bolts decided they did not want to go and ended up leaving themselves on the freeway. I limped the Chevelle around town on 3 shocks to just barely make it back to the shop! Let's see what really happened!

The Chevelle is the kind of car where it's not perfect in paint or trim, but built with driveability and performance while still looking great.
My kind of car.
Thank you
I remember watching and seeing you, Mr. Costa, in the background of so many other shows over the years. Sir, I’m glad you’ve been around. Please keep yourself happy with as many “cookie breaks” as it takes for you to put another 25 years of edu-tainment fun into the ethos. Thanks.
Thanks for the support
I love that we found your channel Lucky! You probably remember my dad Gary Svecko from Performance paint!! Glad to see you’re doing well!
Hit me on IG
Watching Lucky fix a shock, is better than shovelling snow!!
😂🤣
This episode was Lucky un-cut
The real shop experience
Just down and dirty. Thanks for watching
I have Ridetech on my 93 chevy OBS. Unhooking the sway bar well let the suspension drop down far enough to get the shock in and out. I put the perload in the shock on the bench. It's easier than trying use the spanner tool on the truck. I'm not sure about a chevelle, but maybe worth a try.
Nicely done Lucky , most people would have got another shock ! That's why your the man ! With the plan lol ! Peace and Love brother ! Like the Benz !
Abusing the “chromie sockets” on the lug nuts. Love it
Welcome to my world.. I too broke down.. halfway to pomona, sitting waiting on towing. Bummer, never attend pomona swap meet.. was going to purchase cadi convertible ive been after for some time. Something different than my performance classics..😢
Watching you reinstall the shock reminded me of me and my father installing shocks on the old family sedan. This work was usually done late at night and my job was hold the flashlight. Unlike Stix I was rather unsteady, my mind would wander, and I would lose my focus and get cussed out for not keeping the flashlight steady. And yeah, the neighbors would come over and hold conversations that would distract us from the job at hand. Yeah, good memories.
😂😂😂
Right on
This is a story of Shock Shaft Redemption.
Loving the content produced on the channel keep it going! 🔥🤘🏽💪🏽🚀
Appreciate it!!
Luckys Chevelle broke on the side of the road still looks better than most cars at a car show!! Real deal street car!! 😍😍😍
Thanks!!
Real world content✊️😎 You break it you fix it
👊🏻🏁
My second car was a 67 Chevelle SS 396. Sadly I totaled it in the late 70s.
Lucky, when you pulled the wheel and dropped it down, the bounce sounded like blap, blap, maybe like 23 lbs,? Enjoyed the brilliant repair,,Thanks !
Lucky your the reason I'm still doing Hotrod. Love the channel. I'm 62..NSDQ....
I appreciate that. Thanks for the support
I'm excited to see you. Love, Dennis.
Its ok, my 66 broke the clutch cross shaft a couple weeks ago, and then filled the fuse box with water again. fixed and running again.
You need to put the lift down on the locks after you raise a vehicle to prevent an accident
Thanks for the video Lucky!
Thanks for the support!
Don't think that ac will get close to what is here in Indiana right now , it's -3 feels like -20 if I didn't have to do stuff I wouldn't leave the house . Lol
What's up with braking with your left foot?
Blame it on the L.A. freeways where trophy truck long travel suspension is required!!!
The answer clearly is that companies need to pay You to test their products tensile strength
Don Hampton?
The content lucky and tony are putting up on RUclips far surpass the motor trend productions. Canceled my MT subscription
What driveline is in the Benz?
Stock.
stock
Because Race car.

#fundriver
Ohhh yeah!!
I love how Lucky doesn't give a sh$t and just leaves the camera on while he goes and takes a crap. Lol😂
I appreciate the real-talk at the end. Actor-Lucky is...aight, but the REAL Lucky is what we all look forward to. 👍
Love the chevelle had a bunch of them most were big block cars had a few elcominos also had a small block 4 speed 66 that was pretty fast on the street in the late 70s love your channel
those steering boxes adjust fairly well on those old benzes, most of them are kind enough to wear on the side of the box you can adjust it out, that won't help with the scraping the door handles on the ground feeling in hard turns though
WHAT'S UP, BRADA LUCKY IT'S GREAT TO WATCH YOUR VIDEO AND CONTENT. I MISS YOU LUCKY AND TONY ON MOTORTREND TV. I STILL WATCH YOUR NEW VIDEO'S IN YOUR SHOP, GOD BLESS YOU BRADA LUCKY AND BRADA TONY. ALOHA, FROM BRADA BEC. FROM: THE BIG ISLAND OF HAWAII.
Thanks for watching! I appreciate you!
THANK YOU, BRADA LUCKY. GOD BLESS, TAKECARE. ALOHA, BRADA BEC. FROM: THE BIG ISLAND OF HAWAII.
The lift switch kills me every time 😂😂😂😂
You like that!🤣
No I don’t. I love it🎉🎉
Loved the candid conversation. We appreciate you Lucky. Truly wish you the best.
First segment is exactly why I won't switch to electric power tools. Pneumatic all the way.
Did you check the drivers side for the same issue?
Off camera, yeah.
I have to be honest here, I love watching Lucky as part of hot rod garage. This is the first episode of his channel that I have watched. Sadly, I found it very boring. Too much downtime. I hope future episodes that I watch have more of an entertainment value. Just my opinion as an ASE and Ford master technician
Glad it was a relatively easy fix, Lucky. It takes some real character to not blame the vendor.
Must be nice to live where it's warm. If we're lucky, we see 40's here in W. Wa state - it's been in the teens lately though.
Cheers!
Thank you!
Yeah now finally back in the 40's w. rain - which I used to bitch about when I moved up here from NoCal but will gladly take over that freezin'
Lucky rollin in the straight six Benz. Sounds really good in the upper rpmz. range. Question is when are you going to boost it with a turbo?? I’d love to see that. 20:32
He has built my favorite old school cars. I had back in the day. Mine was mostly 94 corvette suspension and engine transmission.
Took me a year or so to put it together. I did have a pretty nice paint job on it with a black vinyl roof on it.
Of course I’m old enough to be Luckies father
I worked with this customer in Oklahoma City (Kathy) and during our conversations she tells me her dad is Don Hampton, blower guy.
Watching Lucky struggling to get the shock and spring stuffed back that small space and thinking I could not make video's as the cussing would have gotten me kicked off you tube . Lol
I lost the seal(!) around the map sensor when my FAST equipped Mustang went pig rich.
Probably best to reassess the other side. It might also be on the way to failure
love your shows...I loved the OG version of this episode before the edit...
Lucky needs to talk more to the camera while working on his projects.❤️👍🏻😎🇺🇸🏁🤘🏻🙏🏻
👍
I’m glad the shock was repairable.
You should name the Benz Jeff...Benzos🤣
Glad to see there wasn't much damage. That's a tough shock. Thought for sure you were going to have to replace it.
Thanks Lucky ✌️
Yeah , think I got Lucky

Good day lucky. Ain't it something sometimes but we get through. Im glad things worked out brother your the best lucky
I want your Chevelle Lucky!
Remember constantly breaking shock extensions back in the day. Much better design now. Oh yeah, Happy Birthday.
Yes! Thank you!
Lucky nearly blow a gasket putting that shock in.😊
Seriously!
Go lucky!
Shocking? not really it is a GM product.
Ridetech aftermarket...
First thing I do when I hear hardware hitting the pavement is turn the radio up.
LOL! So true!
Name worked with this one, got it back without disaster-then flatbed. Caught video cuz it reminded me when driver's side upper ball joint snapped on my 70 in front of a gas station. Used his floor jack to get it in the shop. Anyway, I lost a header bolt once, then got Stage 8 set and never again. Also have same Fel-pros 18 yrs. now. Well worth it!
Well im glad. Always nice when its a small part.
Thanks for watchin!
I like Lucky's channel better that Hot Rod Garage. The youtube channel is like the R rated HRG. Not that it needs to be R rated for me to like it. I just like the freedom to say what you want and be yourself. Thus seems more genuine.
Whilst you were explaining that little rod you needed to size up ,for just a brief minute i thought you were going to part out Sticks Mc Gann as a internal piece. Phew
And Lucky - on the sketch lift controls, it's called the " all or none principal".
Looks like your tire is doing some clearancing on your sway bar end link.
The question is, Do you remove the driver's side shock and check it out???
The question is,what did you do to make your car fall apart like that 😅
Rollin' the Mafia Staff Car on camera today... 😁
Just business nothing personal😂
I have those same rims on my 2004 Element
...and I thought I was the only person that had trouble finding my tools to take a tire off....too funny!!! LOL
lol!
That was porch, not Porsche.
Hey lucky,where did you go?
MTL uncut, love it.
Lucky Time.
While putting the shock back in, it was almost like you heard me saying, that might be easier with a pry bar 😁Hope you're well Lucky. BTW that Benz is a Rocket!
Thanks for watchin!
Make Mike P give back that Caddy!
He doesn’t have the caddy
Right , the guy with the guitar has it, the Prius driver 😂😂😂
Is he the guy you were referring to in the last video???
Much love from Guam/ Washington state 🤙🏾🇬🇺🇺🇸🍻
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video Lucky! Good times Ha
Thank you!
You are dieing me Lucky! Safety first 😅
You know the saying!
If that Chevelle is broke, I guess it's time for it to get a job.
🏁🏁🏁🏁
Great video lucky 👍
Thanks for watchin
Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching and the support!
I have just one question. Was Tony anywhere in the greater Southern California area when this happened.? 6=8.
Good one! But no!
@@luckysgarageshow I mean he does kinda have the reputation for "testing" parts to their limit.
@@willydavid I'd pay good money to see that.
How many engines are under the shelf?
Just a few 🤣🏁
I didn’t know Lucky knew some of those words 😏
What I like about Lucky's channel is that he shows himself building and driving cars, while his sidekick just interviews her father. Why HRG didn't hire Emily or Emelia to replace Tony is a mystery to me.
Lol
I like Lucy's garage show, fuck hrg!
It's called advertising demographics ( or it used to be).
Hey lucky, the 57 pushtruck you are building on hot rod garage, the front wheel bearings get torqued to 35 ft lbs. the axle grows with the heat of the ball type wheel bearings.
You didn’t show it, so just a reminder.
Also u have a 6 cyl truck. U need a V8 ign switch because 6 vehicles had a foot starter, and ign switch is just on or off, no start position
I had the wheel lug nuts dumping out at HWY 101W many years ago on my Trans Am. Got off Laurel Canyon with only 1 lug nut holding the wheel to the car.
Been there - those shank lugs on old slot mags were on my Chevelle when I got it. Took one from each wheel so I could get home...got rid of them wheels ASAP
U ever fixed the shock
