Girl please no. You literally just fried your hair, heat protector or not. Please blowdry DAMP clean hair. Your blowdry will be much smoother and result like your “straightened”hair thus making your straightening process much easier. You have beautiful hair, please don’t damage it for a video

@@xiacapretta There are safe says to straighten your hair but this process just wasn't it. You should wash, dc, apply the correct heat protection. They have some specifically for the flat iron process that isn't oily. Then blow dry. For people with very thick or a tighter curl pattern in the salon they will do both. Hair can release moisture even after we think it's dry causing a poofy flat ironed look. Then use a good flat iron on small sections passing through slowly only once over that section of hair. Never do multiple passes with the flat iron over a section of hair. I only straighten my hair in the winter when it's cold and I won't sweat 😅 it out! In the summer my hair will revert to an afro as I walk out the salon door money wasted.

Hi !’ I love that you attempted to straighten your hair. But if ya want silkier results you should dampen you hair put it into sections and blowdry it with a paddle brush until you got it as straight as possible. Then take small sections and straighten your hair. Your hair will be less stiff and last longer. I understand that you don’t want as much heat damage but if you use heat protectant and don’t straighten your hair often you’ll be fine !
The shrinkage usually applies to more coil-ly textures like 4a-4c. Normally when you have a looser curl pattern as she does your hair doesn't add much length. But if straighten properly it would have laid longer and flatter. It's a process to properly straighten natural hair. She just needs to do some research. No need to hate! (To whoever said it only got a half inch longer)
my hair is 2c/3a with a few 3b strands here and there (only been on my curly bae journey for about 8 months so it'll prob get curlier as it has been since i started) and i definitely get 4-5 inches just when i brush it
