- Rain is always good for Southern California, but can wreak havoc on public tracks. Perris MX stepped up big and re-opened before anyone else last weekend, even hosting their Friday Night Races before their regular weekend practice schedule. Most tracks didn't re-open until Sunday at the earliest. Cheers to the Perris crew for providing a good practice track with a few modified sections for us SoCal practice riders! Technical track with more deep ruts than the GoPro can even portray...

This is my favorite vid so far, you look great on this track
What’s the Kawi like compared to compared to the 17- current Hondas? I’m thinking of making a switch. Love the way the Hondas turn and the rider triangle feel but looking for a more well-rounded package.
Full disclosure: I owned a 2017 Honda CRF450R and sold it to buy my 2020 KX450. It was the best decision I've made in a long time. For taller riders (I'm 6' for reference), the Kawi is a good fit. It's more stable than the CRF and significantly easier to ride hard laps consistently. The ergos are comfortable and it's a light feeling MXer with good mapping and pickup. The Kawi build quality isn't as good as the Honda and there are a few frustrating stock features (250mm rear brake rotor, mismatched lever shapes, QC gremlins, soft fork specs in stock trim, etcetera), but there are relatively easy fixes for them and a good mechanic can keep their bike running solid. My 20' KX450 isn't as fast feeling as my 17' CRF, but I focus more on suspension/handling than anything motor related on my personal bikes anyways. Cheers and best of luck with your decision, Troy!
You mentioned having your suspension dialed in really good on another vid so was curious what your did? Is this the SR model?
2022 was the first model of Kawasaki SR editions, where mine's only a 2020. Simply had AHM Factory Services revalve/re-spring it for me and then Shock Therapy Racing serviced the fluids when I had a leaky seal at a race: Would recommend both suspension shops to anyone in the SoCal area as they know their stuff! Cheers
