Having a woman voice Audrey II is a very interesting idea, although I don't think her voice is right for the role. I feel that casting someone with deeper and more powerful voice could have worked much better
Alan Menken said that Audrey 2 is female. I personally don't buy it but that opens the role to female singer. Orfeh did this song one year at miscast and she was great.
Absolutely agree. It doesn’t get t solidify the evilness and darkness of the plant. A deeper male voice is more menacing and gets the point across better
