"Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy, Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry, Sunshine on the water looks so lovely, Sunshine almost always makes me high" MAYBE NOT ALL THE TIME. LOL.
Don’t beat your self up. You are one of the most authentic out there. It’s just like when you go out with friends, you are on your best behavior, but it’s when you are at home in private when we let our flaws and idiosyncrasies show themselves. Hope whatever is stressing you can be resolved. You are a gift to all of us who watch. Keep it up!
Big hug to you. Since working on my ED, I found feeling the feelings during stressful times was so much bigger and exhausting then it was when I was unaware I even had an ED I was struggle with. Press on my friend. Not sure if that is helpful to say but perhaps it shows you are making more progress than your mind will have you believe. You got this girl and this bad weather time for you is temporary. I feel sure of it.
Being up in the mountains is so freeing and healing. I appreciate the realness too. Even with the struggles I hope you continue to find the little moments throughout your adventures there that can give you joy and gratitude.
Have fun in Europe and keep grinding Allie! My daughter and I are cheering for you! Life and work and fun and relationships (business, friends, partners, etc) are all hard-all you can do is keep going as genuinely as possible and be true to you. Your honesty and genuineness encourages my middle school running daughter, and no matter what I know you'll be kicking butt wherever you go and whatever you do next!
So love your honesty.Getting sick of watching videos of other bloggers giving the impression every day the "sun shines".I also love the way you like to just randomly run up a mountain and see where it takes you.Stayed in Chamonix a few years ago so many amazing mountains to run up.Stay strong.
So sorry you are struggling right now and proud of you for climbing up mountains and over rocks. Nature really is a metaphor of life. ED recovery and mental health struggles are full of goat trails and right now, you’re moving forward and tackling it. Lean in, learn, reach out for help. Bravo on being you ❤
Thank you so much for your honesty. Social media can be deceiving. I just started my running journey at 52 and can't run for very long periods of time, but I'm just moving forward. You are an inspiration and so genuine! Thank you for your videos..........they are so encouraging to me! :)
Major win that you kept going about your travels & training despite the mental struggle!! This trip looks like a blast & it's humorous that a near death experience is thrown in there! Glad you were ultimately safe!
Hello Alli! The mountain huts are literally everywhere in the alps, you can eat and sleep there to start mountaineering tours to be closer to the peaks (even when the hut is closed they have „winterrooms“ equipped just with the basics in emergencies). The rock ring is a Biwak place for mountaineering, either to save money by not sleeping at the hut or to be even closer to the peaks. So it means you just sleep there with a sleeping bag and no tent 🤗 The tracks don’t end there, they just turn into alpine terrain what means you have no proper ways , sometimes stoneman or poles to find the way. So you need to be experienced in the mountains to go further :) I hope this helps you to understand the great alps better 🙌
Hi Allie, I don’t do any social media other than this but I know most people try to make their lives seem so happy and nothing ever goes wrong. I respect you being real. Try not to sweat the small stuff.
Thank you for being honest! We all go through ups and downs, but sometimes you think you are the only one. Helps me realise its ok to have down times as they makes space for the good times 🤩
Thank you for sharing Allie! We all care for you and worry when you're either injured or feeling blah. Hang in there and keep doing what makes you happy. Prayers from Virginia ❤
Thank you for being vulnerable and showing the lows, too. I’m sorry it’s been tough and I have also been watching enough to know you are incredibly strong and brave. There’s nothing you can’t do. Hoping it eases soon for you. We’re all rooting for you. 🙌
This! Ms. Ostrander, if you do read this, just know that the words everyone is giving to you aren’t hollow- they are full of heart and are being sent to yours. I’m saying this as someone who internally denies compliments because of people not knowing who I actually “am” and the kind words not resonating with me. But does that even matter? I hope that these words resonate with you though!
I’m with you so much Allie! After several months of severe fatigue, and digestion problems I put my whole focus on getting to the bottom of these heath issues. I have been living with chronic stress for so long that my body was shutting down. After many consultations, I’m recovering from adrenal fatigue. Ive has to stop all running and cross training but have kept up some light resistant training. Jig Saw brand adrenal cocktail and Mag soothe everyday have changed my life! I feel the light of life again for the first today in so very long. I hope you get to the bottom of your health issues!! You are amazing thank you for all you do to inspire us all with with you honesty.
A lot of strength to you. On another topic, I must say it’s cool to see you enjoying the Alps so much. I remember visiting the US and thinking the Rockies were special… it shows we value difference sometimes. I hope you can still enjoy the experience!
Even just hearing the intro music of your videos makes me smile--your videos are such a place of comfort for me. Thanks so much for continuing to post, but sorry to hear that you're struggling. Hoping you get through this valley of life and see the other side soon!
Really appreciated the mountaintop talk. :) I've gone through phases where my body shuts down without easily identifiable reason too and know how frustrating it is. For years I'd try everything to "solve the problem" until realizing that what I really needed was a bucketload of compassion and to give myself however much rest and care my body asked for. Stress really takes a huge toll and sometimes it takes a while before we realize we've been drained for weeks. Sending lots of strength, you got this xxx
Allie you got this! I know(personal battle with Anorexia) how Hard it is. If you need to take a Break ? Do it! You are too important❤ All the Prayers for you🙏🏼
I am sorry to hear you've been struggling with mental health nnd physical challenges. Thank you for your mountain top talk and your openness and honestly about your life. Please be assured that those of us who follow you online love you and support you through thick and thin.
Thanks for speaking out and sharing. It's so hard when you're feeling awful but you feel like you should be the happiest you've ever been. I'm glad you're still doing things that bring you joy and happiness, despite not being in the best mental state.
glad you made it down that hike OK - sounds mega scary. Safe travels home and heres to feeling better back in the pac northwest with your dog in the USA.
Hope you are doing better and thanks for the honesty. Best part of stressful periods is that they pass, and usually leave you more equipped to handle them the next time. Loved the chamonix footage. I've never run higher than the Midi midway station, but I have hiked right up to that cute little rock circle to climb the Frendo Spur and the Arete des Papillons. Nice memories, thanks.
I am totally with u on this one Allie❤it’s perfectly ok to not be ok. We are human and our minds are so so powerful and impact on every strand of our physical being. Please be kind to yourself xx
You're a strong person, Allie, because you can say when you aren't feeling well. Talking it out and knowing that you'll find your way out of it will help, and we (your fans/friends) are confident that you'll be feeling more yourself soon. I love France and really enjoyed seeing a town/area I've never been. I recently discovered your channel and I always love watching whatever you want to show us. Your smiling face just makes me happy! I have never liked to run (I was a swimmer and soccer player) and yet I even enjoy watching your workouts. 🏃♀😆
There was this little house and it was a business and it was adorable 😂😂😂 😍 such a cute description. Had me laughing, cause as a European I forgot how cute those houses are😅
Great video! Thanks for taking us along. Looks like an amazing experience. I hope things start going better for you. Hang in there and "just keep putting one foot in front of the other."
Sorry to hear you are struggling but hoping things get bette for you. This scenery and the experience are awesome and I love getting to watch. So inspiring to see Spencer doing sit-ups and yoga immediately after waking up. He still is a Beast!!!
I’ve said it to you before and I’ll say it again: your videos show something to young women that’s important and real about being a competitor. I’ll gladly take one of these videos for every five happy Allie videos. It’s real. That’s why I keep watching. BTW: I turned my daughter onto LMNT with your code. Hopefully she uses them like I do. 🙂
Recovery is so wildly challenging. Challenges in life stack on top of each other and mental health and recovery can skyrocket stress levels. Thank you for your transparency and vulnerability.
Hey Allie, WOW france looks amazing and I am so glad that you have been having an amazing time!!! Thank you so much for being so open and vulnerable because a lot of people assume that from the outside everything looks perfect especially on social media and that is far from the truth! Your an inspiration for so many people struggling like me and letting them know that just because you see something or someone looks fine you don't know what they are dealing with
Mountaintop talks should definitely be a recurring thing. I personally use your little “thank you running…” TikTok as a little mantra in life. Please know that what you do is very meaningful. I’m a mental health nurse, so I get to see the impact of my actions and words on people. You don’t get to see the effect you have in the lives of so many of your viewers. But it is there. Run the world, have a great summer 🏔️💚 🏃🏻♀️
Thanks for being honest, I struggle pretty bad with anxiety so it really helps hearing stress affects you too. I just ran 5.7 miles today, my longest ever and my pace was decent. Grateful for my fitness!
Great run, I've been off running for some time. Listen to Allie and stay within your limits building slowly. Also after long runs the recovery of two or three days before a sprint is not optimal I tore a lot of muscles one time that way. Good luck with the anxiety your doing great with the running so that's something to build with.
I was just in France, It's such a beautiful country! Being able to see the Tour de France is so cool! your content has helped me a lot, Im a high schooler training for a triathlon in august but have been struggling with an eating disorder and have been trying to recover. I have been struggling a lot mentally as well, it will get better❤
The struggle makes us grow :) as much as I don't want to go through it, I know that it's a part of life and will make me a better, stronger person. Stick with it!
Thank you for being open - social media is a tricky b indeed. Also, so glad to see you are still kicking around in the alps! I just got back - while you were in Chamonix I was a tunnel ride over in the Courmayeur area. Also, aren't rifugios the best???!!! (french: refuge, german: hutte). Running up to a rifugio is my favorite mountain activity in Italy - it's seriously a travesty we don't have this here in the US :) Also the trails there are so well marked (which we also lack).
Appreciate the authenticity. Relative to fatigue, a thought crossed my mind that a lot of caffeine (the coffee looks delicious btw!)might be making you tired (when it wears off?) Hoping you get some answers.
Hey Allie, I've been watching a lot of your videos and you are so inspiring to me! And I can relate to loving running in the alps and feeling at home in the mountains! (I ran in the Swiss not French alps but... ;p) Anyway, I truly appreciate your authenticity, kindness, diligence, and wit. Your vlogs feel so much more real and informative than most other RUclipsrs'(especially fitness RUclipsrs' vlogs)-so thank you! You've been making a big impact on me, and I just wanted to let you know that your athletic success and performance are so incredibly impressive and inspiring, but I hope you know that your individual worth is not tied to your athletic performance or ability. My parents-in-law were both amazing long-distance runners in their heyday and still are great athletes in their own right-but they don't have the same acclaim today that they did ~20-30 years ago. But nevertheless, it's their examples that continue to inspire my husband and me to prioritize our health consistently (getting adequate sleep, nutrition, exercise, and rest-along with nurturing healthy, deep relationships with others). You could take a break from racing or posting online or even move on to a different career at any point (if you want or feel like you need to) and I believe people (at least your true friends and fans) would think just as highly of you as they do now or if you continue on this career path as far as it will take you. I believe that every human being has inherent worth, and when I've struggled with my mental health (depression and anxiety), having the people closest to me (including myself) remind me of this has been super helpful! Our fundamental worth is not tied to what we do or how well we perform but it's based on who we are-and it's inherent and unchanging. And Allie-I think your worth is only enhanced by the kind of person you are and the goodness you share with the people around you! Fame and top athletic success/ability will eventually fade, but true, deep friendships and relationships-as well as healthy habits and a healthy lifestyle-can last a lifetime. I hope this perspective helps even if just a little, but you can also take it with a grain of salt.
I am constantly trying to work on the person I am, the way I make the people around me feel, the way I treat myself, and forming a sense of self worth outside of athletics. Everything that you said was so kind and just reinforced the life I've been trying to live. I obviously care so much about performance and athletic achievements, but I realize that solely focusing on those things will only make me feel empty in the end. Thank you for the beautiful sentiments and taking the time to write all of that!
@@allie_ostrander You are so welcome! Thank you so much for your kind words as well and sharing your thoughts on this perspective! I think you are truly setting a great example for the rising generation of professional (and non-professional) athletes and even RUclipsrs. I am excited to continue following your journey to be inspired to push my own limits and capacities while still prioritizing what matters most to me! You're amazing, Allie!
I thought that was you and Spencer in the TdF crowd. Just kidding; I didn't see you. Hang in there, Allie. Life is not all rainbows and puppy dogs (although Georgie is adorable). Keep your head up. You are stronger than you think. Best :-)
It’s kind of crazy because I honestly feel like you have reached life goals, and that just shows us how social media can be so deceiving. I really hope you can do whatever you need to do to be happy and mentally healthy. Thanks for sharing the truth and everyone here supports and wants the best for you ❤
I think sometimes reaching goals is hard too because once you reach them, you realize that goal didn't actually fix everything in your life. Not to say that goals are bad, just that they can't be the sole focus of life.
yes, France in July is ideal. You can watch the tour and do some insane trail running and also eat so many pastries and have great coffee. Literally couldn't get better...
im sure you have alot on your plate often with your professional running career i love how honest you are with all of us. How can we help you as viewers push threw the hard times when your struggeling mentally. I am happy to help how ever I can. I think its great that you got to see the tour to france that is cool. Looks like you both are having a good time and making the best of it even though your in a tough place at the moment. How much longer are both in italy and france for. Have a great weekend oh how is gorgee doing.
hi! Thank you so much for the kind comment. I think that the best way for my audience to help is just to show support, which so so many of you did! Reading through the comments made me feel so loved and appreciated :)
I know that feeling. When everything should be going right but it reallly isnt. When you seem to have everything going for you but you're not truly up to par. I'm dealing with the same thing.
I am "recovering" from several months of much too much mental and physical stress, and I hear you on the exhaustion. I've been resting for several weeks and not much has changed and it's hard not to push myself. Also I'm extremely jealous because I have a knee injury and can't run or hike during our few short months of "mountain season" and it's driving me crazy. I guess I am the person sitting at home moping, though I think I can at least cycle now. Hopefully my knee will heal by rain season. sigh...
Hey, sorry that happened, I wouldn’t fully understand bc my one injury was before I was passionate about running. But one thing I learned is that it really just makes running so much greater when you can be grateful for the act itself and your health.
Trauma is physical. Being able to say you're not okay is so great! You're awesome. Keep up the good work!
I appreciate it!
"Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy, Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry, Sunshine on the water looks so lovely, Sunshine almost always makes me high" MAYBE NOT ALL THE TIME. LOL.
We love you Aliie! Keep going!
Thank you! Will do!

yes, this is definitely something that I've noticed. Actually fully feeling emotions is so scary, and I still don't fully know how to handle them..
Sending you love and strength, Allie. It’s little solace but just remember; tough times don’t last, tough people do. This community loves you!💛
I will keep reminding myself of that!
Being up in the mountains is so freeing and healing. I appreciate the realness too. Even with the struggles I hope you continue to find the little moments throughout your adventures there that can give you joy and gratitude.
the mountains are my happy place..definitely healing.
As someone who's struggled with depression, I just want to give you a hug and let you know it'll get better.
thank you :)

HI!!! Have so much fun and thank you for sharing and getting vulnerable. All the love and hugs!

Major win that you kept going about your travels & training despite the mental struggle!! This trip looks like a blast & it's humorous that a near death experience is thrown in there! Glad you were ultimately safe!
yes! I'm glad I didn't hold myself back from having these experiences.
We love you, Allie O! I’m praying for you right this moment.
So it means you just sleep there with a sleeping bag and no tent 🤗
The tracks don’t end there, they just turn into alpine terrain what means you have no proper ways , sometimes stoneman or poles to find the way. So you need to be experienced in the mountains to go further :)
I hope this helps you to understand the great alps better 🙌
it does! Thanks for all the insider info ;)
Thanks for being real, and very best of luck.

@@allie_ostrander thank you ♥️
I was just in France, It's such a beautiful country!
The US definitely needs more refuges and well marked trails!
Allie - you got it girl - I believe!!!
It’s so ok to not be ok. Hang in there. We all struggle.
Best :-)
haha you actually can see us on the live stream if you put it in slow mo and squint ;)
@@allie_ostrander LOL
Big hugs!
You're not alone Allie.
Stay strong and be happy
It’s kind of crazy because I honestly feel like you have reached life goals, and that just shows us how social media can be so deceiving. I really hope you can do whatever you need to do to be happy and mentally healthy. Thanks for sharing the truth and everyone here supports and wants the best for you ❤
I think sometimes reaching goals is hard too because once you reach them, you realize that goal didn't actually fix everything in your life. Not to say that goals are bad, just that they can't be the sole focus of life.
"water it down by 80%," wisdom galore.
You hang in there Allie. People love you and want to help and support you. Save yourself.
that rly is such a beautiful track alongside maybe the one in paris right next to the eifel tower
hope things get better for u we're all in ur corner!
thanks :) I always look forward to your comments! Also love your new handle lol
@@allie_ostrander thank youuu a friend i met on minecraft coined it haha
heads up, you will get through this soon! talking about it is already a big chunk forward!
Allie we’re with you! 🤗
You never told me who you were rooting for :O! But omg I am so doing this next year!
yes, France in July is ideal. You can watch the tour and do some insane trail running and also eat so many pastries and have great coffee. Literally couldn't get better...
I hope it's going better. It is hard to travel, train, compete, etc.
Hoya saxa! Cool Georgetown shirt!
im sure you have alot on your plate often with your professional running career i love how honest you are with all of us.
I hope you'll be able to find a way to feel better. We got this!
Sending you love Allie
We are cheering for you and you are our little butterfly. we love you so much
I am "recovering" from several months of much too much mental and physical stress, and I hear you on the exhaustion.
But one thing I learned is that it really just makes running so much greater when you can be grateful for the act itself and your health.
hopefully we will both be on the other side of exhaustion soon!
Sorry there are some struggles, but I think keeping busy is a good idea❤
yep, I've gotta keep myself accountable for making myself feel better. And that means doing things!
