Thank you one of the best packing videos I've seen. One question that's driving me up the wall is how do you decipher the steering lines from the rest of them when you're not color-coded. Like on navigator student rigs. Or if you start packing sport rigs
A very good trick you can do is to locate your stabilizer on the rare riser “it’s where your slider sit, it has a buck shape” from there, trace the edge of your tail, you’ll run into 4 lines attachments right at the edge of your canopy tail. And once you grab them and raise them you’ll easily see where your D and C lines are. If you struggle you always ask the packers! They can help you a lot and show you many cool tricks.
Haven’t packed since 2007 years after I quit jumping. Very interesting watching this. I wonder if I could still do it and if ‘muscle memory’ would kick in.
isn't it problematic that the d-bag attachment point is coming out the side of your roll rather than the very top, doesn't this rock the canopy (and possibly throw you off heading) on opening? How are the openings with this method?
robertmdrew it hasn’t caused any issues. The line straightens itself out quickly and hasn’t caused any issues. My openings are consistent with how canopies typically open. My pilot is usually on heading and my crossfire will sometimes hunt, but it’s no different than other packing methods.
The third would be relative to the size of the canopy. An alternative (the way my mentor does it) is to just fold in half, and make the roll from there.
This is the best packing video instruction available -- I think I have seen them all. Thanks !
I cannot tell you how many times I've watched this. Thank you so much for posting this =D helped me so much
By far the best video I’ve watched. Just got my A license and still learning. This video was just what I needed. Thank you sir
Great explanation! Not only steps but also reasons why and what may happen, what may not happen, what are the chances and so on
That was explained so clearly and I found it really calming/relaxing to watch. Thank you!
My hands hurt watching this. I learned with a power tool and it does help.
22:51 timing was inadvertently hilarious from that group con the background haha
Liked the idea of having the center cell a little exposed. Gonna try on my Hurricane 150 next time.
Lol I filmed this. Thanks tony. I needed a refresher. Plan on getting current real soon. Hope to see you out in a few weeks.

That flaking trick at 14 minutes seems genius

Any videos of the openings? Ive got a 190 spectre going in a container meant for a 170 and its a fucking nightmare to get in with the usual S folds.
Have you tried it yet? I have a Safire 189 that is new and is also a nightmare. I was wondering if it worked for you well
@@christobe2 I have a new safire 189, did you ever try this technique? How was it?
So at around 22 mins he said divide it into 1/3rd does that mean if it’s bigger you fold again or you always roll after the first fold?

Aren’t there 5 lines not 4 per line set? What about the stabilizer line.
Awesome video mate! Very helpful!
