League probably wasn't EWC ready and only sent two teams from only 4 regions it's the smallest team count out of all the other categories there the tourney is happening during summer split so yeah. this will be advantage for teams that will match them up once they go back to their respective regions. and EWC will be huge if this is a success as this is will be like a ranking of the best teams ranking from different games combined.

They only gave this the okay because they want to contract their production fully out to the saudis in a couple of years. That way, Riot gets to keep all the revenue generated from the micro transactions they sell thru the marketing of their esport without any of the costs associated with running multiple leagues and international tournaments.
