* inhales deeply * Shoooow of the Weekend! Ellen gets tuneful with the studio wildlife this week in a Fe-themed animal-befriending quiz, plus Nintendo Labo, your comments, artwork and oh so very much more. Enjoy!
Before this episode was filmed: *Luke*: Mike, we need your help for Show of the Weekend! *Mike*: What do you need me to do? *Luke*: Crouch awkwardly behind the sofa and hold up plush toys? *Mike*: ...I'm in
suikofan Well to be far, Ellen has already done educational English lessons on her channel. Luke can teach us about Ships and Dinosaurs and Ellen can teach us about Animals lol
I spent roughly half an hour smiling, and I loved it. Between the arts and crafts, the singing, the pictures of cute cats, the puppet time and the showcase for submitted art I had to remind myself that this was a show for adults. And I think that's just great. Thankyou guys.
She's a Wood Elf now. She can run up his back, balance on his head and shoot arrows downwards into his brain. Ellen as Legolas. Andy as Galadriel. Mike as Gimli. Luke as Arwen (give us your best "You want him? Come and take him!" impression, Luke). Jane as Faramir. James as Gandalf. A large Alsatian as Eowyn ("Fool! No man can slay m... Oh. Oh, shit ... ").
The stuff you guys make with cardboard could be a revolutionary step in engineering. Sceptical? Well first of all it’s: 1. Recyclable, so the squirrels are happy Also it’s 2. Affordable, so the customers are happy Then of course it’s 3. Easily marketable, so the sales guys are happy And finally: 4. Makes the vroom vroom whoosh noises and goes fast, so mike is happy
That candid photo is almost as good as the look on Luke's face when the guy helping him set up the robot suit hugged him. (3:15 of the labo video) Also, when Ellen finished listing her traits for a good animal companion, did anyone else think "Did she just describe Luke?".
My youngest kitty, Rosie, is actually named Rosemary. She was one of four kittens found in a cardboard box next to a busy road. They were named Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme.
It's a magical feeling to have your comment read by people you admire! Love you guys and your work! You guys can make me smile and giggle even on the bad days, and I appreciate it
I can't think of anything witty or clever, but I do want to say "Hi Luke and Ellen!" Thanks so much for continuing to make this incredible show, it's honestly the highlight of my weekend and your onscreen antics never fail to make me smile! :)
Watched this show, only thing I could think off was Luke saying "we have a very high shame threshold." Great work as always, laughed myself to tears! XD
"You can't sing. You'll never be able to sing. Don't even try to sing. Just stand in the back row and mime." - my teacher, when I was 8. "That was consistently awful, except on the Meat Loaf and Abba tracks you know best, on which your performance was merely poor." - UltraStar, when I next tried to sing, aged 35. "100% awesome!" - Rock Band 3, a few years later, after I sang Bring Me To Life on Hard. UltraStar Deluxe is here: sourceforge.net/projects/ultrastardx/ and includes on-screen oscilloscopes so you can see whether your mic is live and how pure a note you're producing. Performous is here: performous.org/download and doesn't have the oscilloscopes but does guitar and drums as well as singing, and it allows two players to sing two different parts in the same song, so you can do duets properly rather than competing to see who's the better Christine and leaving the Phantom's part unsung. It is possible to install both into the same directory and have them share a Songs folder, as they use the same format. They play .mp3 sound files and read .txt script files, so you can rip tracks from your own CDs (this is still legal in the UK), buy the sheet music and write the script yourself if the songs you love aren't in the game yet. I've added several Billy Joel, Celine Dion and Phantom of the Opera tracks to mine. I was working on Kiss From A Rose for Andy's benefit, but they never responded to my offer and using Seal's sheet music and a Trinity CD was getting difficult, so that one's on hold. Yes, Celine Dion, seriously. This: ruclips.net/video/j8fHNdrZTSI/видео.html Seriously.
I just rewatched the early episodes recently and I just wanna say how admirable I find it that they are still sticking with Luke's rubbish intro. I think that's a really cute running gag.
Guys, launch your Outside Labo. Don't be afraid of the nintendo. Even the name makes sense(Sort of). Edit: Bad food cat name entry - Gluten free bread.
Was expecting Andy to be the last woodland creature, singing wild wild west! Must be once of the cutest episodes yet! Ellen and Luke faces while playing nintendo labo, cats pictures with corresponding names and Ellen singing!
Watching Luke and Ellen talking to stuffed animals behind a sofa reminds me so much of cebeebies or that kind of thing, so sweet and innocent and very enjoyable :)
You guys need to play D&D with Sam from NODE as your DM. He is insanely hilarious. They just finished their own D&D quest yesterday in fact. Perfect timing. Is it meant to be?
the singing kinda reminds me of the chants from Oddworld: Abe's Odyssey (a game I've owned three times so far) and it brought back a beautiful, happy nostalgia :)
It was thoughtful of you two to make a new car for Mike after his old one was a casualty of Jane's experiments a week or two ago. Glad he likes it so much :)
My cat has been watching the monitor for as long as Ellen was singing. In fact he's clawing it at for the end segment...congrats Ellen you made a new cat friend
So happy to see Ellen happy :) she needs the laughter in her life. I am literally very happy that Ellen was laughing and being so happy on this show :)

Ellen we love you and will support you, chin up, yea! We dont expect you to feel perfect all the time silly we love how endearing you are in every form. ALSO Luke, Jane, Andy, Mike, you guys are just amazing. You help support each other and grow each of your talents in such a welcoming atmosphere. You all make stunningly good looking (and talented) friends/coworkers/pieces of each other, you all are amazing people who are magnetic, kind, and humble. You all bring so much to all of us and each of your evolving personalities just become another reason to love you all. Where else can I get gaming , humor, physics, car jokes, history lessons, dinosaur lessons, infectious hysterics and people who share the love of all things cute and full of wonderment? Thank you all, and Ellen (returning to you because you may never read another thing I write) you , just do you hun, take your time with it, and do it all with every ounce of love and strength you have, we are all here for you, we love you and we got you, just like those other silly guys i mentioned (including the one with the eldritch blast).
Ellen is by far my favorite human on the planet. Her laugh is like medicine for sadness. She's the best, keep her around or I will burn this world to the ground 😂
I often watch you guys' videos and guess what? I think it really helped me with my practice with British accents! Thanks and kisses😜😘 You guys are very lovely by the way.
55 seconds is just the right amount of time for my breakfast grilled cheese to cool down enough to munch on, and then start the day with a wonderful chortle from Ellen.
* inhales deeply * Shoooow of the Weekend! Ellen gets tuneful with the studio wildlife this week in a Fe-themed animal-befriending quiz, plus Nintendo Labo, your comments, artwork and oh so very much more. Enjoy!
I'd've thought Jane's Labo would be a skull
DoomedAssassin 132 or, you know, an orbital death laser.
Outside Xtra A bad food name for a cat? What about "Pu Pu Platter"? Or "Head Cheese"?
>_
The E in FE is pronounced like the E in Elon. Just a minor detail, but I thought it might be fun to know.
"Underwater. I've got it. I'm immediately on board again." It's going better than Sea of Thieves, then, eh?
Before this episode was filmed:
*Luke*: Mike, we need your help for Show of the Weekend!
*Mike*: What do you need me to do?
*Luke*: Crouch awkwardly behind the sofa and hold up plush toys?
*Mike*: ...I'm in
He got a cardboard car for his efforts
I can imagine that Mike stayed behind the sofa after he got the car, playing with it and the plushies until he was needed again.
Nature felt so communed with that it sent Luke a message at 19:34
Ellen: “There are like 6 people watching me...”
Also Ellen: Hosts a channel with almost 500K subscribers.
Perhaps she likes to imagine that only 5 of us are ever watching at once.
I never noticed till this video but Ellen and Luke would be fantastic hosts for an educational kids show.
suikofan omg yes pls im imagining them on hi 5 or art attack
suikofan They don't have the necessary woolly jumpers and Luke doesn't have the necessary 80s moustache.
that's pretty much what they're doing already?
I. Want. This.
suikofan Well to be far, Ellen has already done educational English lessons on her channel.
GhengisJohn haha they're the best right? Seriously the best channels on youtube.
4:00- I'm pretty sure Luke is tall enough to stomp around and destroy a non-fictional town.
Yastaav Padia yes but his morals won't let him
Well if we need to, we’ll just send Ellen to climb him and do the stabby bit
She's a Wood Elf now. She can run up his back, balance on his head and shoot arrows downwards into his brain.
Ellen as Legolas. Andy as Galadriel. Mike as Gimli. Luke as Arwen (give us your best "You want him? Come and take him!" impression, Luke). Jane as Faramir. James as Gandalf. A large Alsatian as Eowyn ("Fool! No man can slay m... Oh. Oh, shit ... ").
Sableagle, I'm sure Jane will prefer to be Boromir.
Is she that into Viggo Mortensen?
Was Doom-guy's song the jigglypuff song?
glad i wasn't the only one to hear that :P
I thought that too xd
I don’t know, I fell asleep watching it while on the treadmill.... damn Ellen’s perfect Jigglypuff rendition
MrSquark it definitely was
Jigglypuff is, of course, a distant relative of Doom guy. Now we know what war Lt Surge was on about!
Wont lie that pic of Luke in full destruction mode was kinda badass
Ellen's StudLust profile: "Must be adorable and want to spend time with me."
Those tables were Ellen size.
On the subject of food names for cats, my cat is called Broccoli, which always makes the vet giggle.
If Ellen ever gets a new cat companion in DND, I request it be named Salad!
The stuff you guys make with cardboard could be a revolutionary step in engineering. Sceptical? Well first of all it’s:
1. Recyclable, so the squirrels are happy
Also it’s
2. Affordable, so the customers are happy
Then of course it’s
3. Easily marketable, so the sales guys are happy
And finally:
4. Makes the vroom vroom whoosh noises and goes fast, so mike is happy
im now picturing mike holding one and playing on his own custom made f1 racetrack he somehow made from cardboard while goinh whee
60 quid for cardboard is still a rip off no matter how you slice it!
As a squirrel, I can confirm, we are happy with cardboard engineering. >.>/
I hope you'll feel better, Ellen :)
The All-New Oxtra Labo Rocket!
Where shall we go?..
What's that place called?..
That upper atmosphere-y place..
Say it with me..
!!!!!!SPACE!!!!!
Gibsonmaniac57 Baghdad Ah Yes the only place uncorrupted by capitalism. Thankfully Oxtra's still there.
Gibsonmaniac57 Oh I love you for that XDDDDD
Surely Doom Guy's song would have been a song from Ocarina of Time?
MrDudeshutup123 sounded more like Jigglypuff's song to me!
i would have gone with Epona's Theme
That is exactly what I’ve been thinking!
And the Oscar for Best Dramatic Performance goes to..
Pikachu! As brought to you by Mike Channell
Doomguy was pleased?
Don't you mean Link?
I thought Luke would say that XD He was the one who uncovered that secret afterall.
At 4:24 Luke's posing skills are movie poster worthy. why hasn't anyone hired Luke to do superhero movies yet
Ellen you now HAVE to make those noises whenever you talk to an animal in D&D.
Ellen is life.
True. I cannot get over how perfect she is...
That candid photo is almost as good as the look on Luke's face when the guy helping him set up the robot suit hugged him. (3:15 of the labo video) Also, when Ellen finished listing her traits for a good animal companion, did anyone else think "Did she just describe Luke?".
Luke: Let's see how you fare at winning over some of the woodland creatures here in the studio.
[Exit Ellen, pursued by bear.]
I have a new theory: Doomguy is Link is Jigglypuff. Any takers?
Hi Oxtra! Will you guys PLEASE continue your "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning" let's play?
Please, please, please.
Warhawk Yes! The people demand more Orca! Tie Luke to a chair with Clockwork Orange things on his eyes if you have too!
My youngest kitty, Rosie, is actually named Rosemary. She was one of four kittens found in a cardboard box next to a busy road.
They were named Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme.
Yay! Early for show of the weekend! *Nintendo seizes the video for Ellen making labo sets*
r0bw00d What a massive douche bag. lol
r0bw00d Get a life.
r0bw00d chill mate. Who even cares.
r0bw00d I already have one. You should still get a life though.
r0bw00d I know what the word means, and I can use it correctly, and I don’t care: therefore your argument is formally invalid.
Ellen's uncontrollable gigglefits never fail to be contagious. 😆 She starts squeaking, and I start laughing!
Who is this Doom Guy you are talking about? That is the Hero of Time! Get your facts right!
I spat cereal milk on myself when you said Salad the cat and showed that picture, thanks guys!
I suppose you couldn't find stealth hippo again. That damn hippo is too good at his or her job.
It's a magical feeling to have your comment read by people you admire! Love you guys and your work! You guys can make me smile and giggle even on the bad days, and I appreciate it
Surely, the oxtra labo kit should be called boxtra
Yes! The Oxbox one would be... Boxoxbox.
Yeah, that doesn't sound as well as I thought it would,.
I was at the vet once with my cat and a couple came in with two cats whose names were Pasta and Noodle. Another amazing name pairing for two cats.
I'd like a version of Labo version Kerbal Space Program please!
Mark Henderson why do you think Luke made the rocket!?
I can't think of anything witty or clever, but I do want to say "Hi Luke and Ellen!" Thanks so much for continuing to make this incredible show, it's honestly the highlight of my weekend and your onscreen antics never fail to make me smile! :)
What would Ellen and Luke's Labos be? I'm thinking a cat for Ellen and probably a dinosaur for Luke
The vibrate could be a purr
I think Luke's would be a ship.
Watched this show, only thing I could think off was Luke saying "we have a very high shame threshold." Great work as always, laughed myself to tears! XD
Who else was expecting Delsyn the Badger to appear?
I actually did... lol
GhengisJohn he's still training at the mountain
Ellen’s animal communication songs are adorable, great episode as always
Oh gosh.. Luke playing 'Jump Up Superstar' on cardboard piano
Justin Timberlake, take notes mate.
2 👍
Justin Timberlake and notes?
Ever see a blind clay pigeon shooter?
Nothing makes me more happy than watching you guys while I'm sick 💓
I can't sing so Fe is going to be hilarious for me to play cause I'll want to sing along.
"Jumpin' up and down the floor
My head is an animal"
"You can't sing. You'll never be able to sing. Don't even try to sing. Just stand in the back row and mime." - my teacher, when I was 8.
"That was consistently awful, except on the Meat Loaf and Abba tracks you know best, on which your performance was merely poor." - UltraStar, when I next tried to sing, aged 35.
"100% awesome!" - Rock Band 3, a few years later, after I sang Bring Me To Life on Hard.

Yes, Celine Dion, seriously. This: ruclips.net/video/j8fHNdrZTSI/видео.html
Seriously.
Nothing will ever match up to the look of pure joy on Luke's face when the piano started making cat noises.
did i hear *HECKINS*
didn't your mother teach you not to swear?
No she gosh-darned didn't!
Excuse me gentlemen this is a Christian server, you better fricking behave!
*clutches my pearls*
oh my word
dragozal
did i hear the f word?
This reminds me of a bit by comedian Sean Morey.
I just rewatched the early episodes recently and I just wanna say how admirable I find it that they are still sticking with Luke's rubbish intro. I think that's a really cute running gag.
18:11 Actually his name is link
5:00 Luke's eyes. The essence of purity and happiness! Like a child on Christmas.
Doom guy's song sounded oddly familiar...
*DOOM GUY IS JIGGLYPUFF CONFIRMED!!* 😲
I love how I can just type "Oxtra" on youtube search and find you lovely people :D do keep up the hard work, and can't wait for more D&D
They should have used a Zelda song for doom guy I mean link
Ellen's Fe singing was magical! And not to worry, you two were great at the live D&D session!
Guys, launch your Outside Labo. Don't be afraid of the nintendo. Even the name makes sense(Sort of).
Edit: Bad food cat name entry - Gluten free bread.
I think most bread related names aren't fantastic. Even just Bread isn't the best.
Loaf, Roll, Toast, and Baguette are good though.
"Egg" and "Innards" are also ok ^^
How about "Long Pork"?
No. "Long Pork" is cat food, not a food cat.
Was expecting Andy to be the last woodland creature, singing wild wild west!
Must be once of the cutest episodes yet! Ellen and Luke faces while playing nintendo labo, cats pictures with corresponding names and Ellen singing!
Doomguy is not a woodland creature? I thought he descended from Hylians?
Watching Luke and Ellen talking to stuffed animals behind a sofa reminds me so much of cebeebies or that kind of thing, so sweet and innocent and very enjoyable :)
Ignoring science and playing video games, sounds like me in 8th grade.
I love that Fe was played overtop one of my favorite songs of all time, "Dirty Paws" by Of Monsters and Men
I would REAAALLY like to know what Mike was doing lying behind the couch...
Benny Kwaakwah He wasn't behind the couch, he was in a magical land of cars and explosions whose entrance just so happens to be behind the couch.
Oh god, I was trying to get Jump Up Superstar out of my head since your Nintendo Labo video... aand now it's there again 😄 thanks guys! 😄
As a swede I can (almost) help you with the pronounciation. Just say "Beer" but replace the B with an F and remove the r.
As a Dane, that sounds spot on. Was wondering how to explain how to say it.
You guys have the best and definitively weirdest job ever. Keep up the awesome work!
CARDBOARD COMBAT!
DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN-DUN. DUN DUN DUNNA DUN DUN.
2 months later and i still think Ellen was robbed of that Pikachu victory.
You guys need to play D&D with Sam from NODE as your DM. He is insanely hilarious. They just finished their own D&D quest yesterday in fact. Perfect timing. Is it meant to be?
Closet Nerd Gaming What if we managed to get someone from the Oxbox/Oxtra crew on critical role?
Closet Nerd Gaming they're a bit of a distance apart though.
Like... an ocean's distance apart.
It can be played by Skype, you know. There's even a map-sharing program you can use to get the "tabletop" on everyone's screens.
Ok, I legit had to pause the video so I could breathe in between Ellen's plushie serenades I was laughing so hard. Encore!
Ellen Seems Fine. Who said She was sick? I Demand Justice.
She's not sick. She's depressed. sub her channel. icklenellierose
Adding the pictures after the cat names made them come to life. Perfect.
It is just sad that Ellen can sit comfortably at a kids table
M . A Campbell sad and adorable
Sadorable
Sadorable portable Ellen... I could make a song out of that.
The SOTWeekend Quiz is the highlight of my Saturday!
We here at AEOAR hope you feel better guys and we are glad you're back.
the singing kinda reminds me of the chants from Oddworld: Abe's Odyssey (a game I've owned three times so far) and it brought back a beautiful, happy nostalgia :)
I love the OX channels. Just a great way to disconnect from it all a couple times a week and laugh.
The bass part in the background music has brought back horrific flashbacks of the moan the monsters make when they are coming towards you in Deadly Premonition and then of course the haunting "I don't want to die..." as you kill them. No, just me? Thanks for the nightmares guys!
Ellen, you did a great job befriending Link at the end of the video! Especially since he was wearing his Hellbeast Slayer outfit.
This video makes me ridiculously happy. All of my love goes to OXtra.
I love you guys. You make me smile every video I watch.
this episode contains too much cuteness... AND I LOVE IT
Ellen is by far my favorite human on the planet. Her laugh is like medicine for sadness. She's the best, keep her around or I will burn this world to the ground 😂
I can't stop picturing Mike behind that couch fighting his urge to laugh.
Thank you Luke for the cat photos and Ellen for cat names it really bright up evening
Still not trying smile
And I failed :(
Hi!! Today is my birthday and watching you guys is the first thing i wanna do :D
(After petting my cat :3)
Glad to see you're taking good care of Theodore! Clearly haven't been feeding him maple syrup after midnight.
It's great when the quizzes are so funny that even James brakes up laughing.
Feels like they made sure that Ellen had the best time during filming this since she's been so sad lately. Good Work guys :)
I often watch you guys' videos and guess what? I think it really helped me with my practice with British accents! Thanks and kisses😜😘 You guys are very lovely by the way.
Nothing better than Ellen's laugh to cure the groggyness of a saturday morning. feel much better now
The Woodland creatures with Ellen's singing is the best thing I've seen and heard today :)
"From playing with cardboard to playing with nature's cardboard" ... Luke Westaway, master of elegant transitions.
Clearly Ellen has super powers as mike drives off on her handmade car
also Ellen singing Fe style is sooooo epic! and adorable
They say it’s for kids but man, that look of wonderment on Luke and Ellen’s faces is so pure.
55 seconds is just the right amount of time for my breakfast grilled cheese to cool down enough to munch on, and then start the day with a wonderful chortle from Ellen.
Did anyone else notice Luke's "Nelson and Murdock" shirt? Why didn't anyone else tell us he knew Daredevil?!
Oh my god, Ellen. You always make me laugh! Your reaction to dogmeat, priceless.
