I have waayyyyy too many guitars. At least that's what my wife says. Ha! I set them up myself. I find it fun to learn and to do. I just bought a Baby Taylor for next to nothing with a broken head stock that I'm looking forward to refurbishing.
Expensive guitar may not necessarily be the answer. I have a Martin 1999 HD28. Since I struggle some with arthritis I found for me the action was a bit high. I took it to a luthier who said, no problem, he could lower the action a bit to make it easier to play. He did give me a warning though that lowering the action on a Martin HD28 would, what he referred to as “decrease the boom”. Since I don’t compete with banjos or other loud instruments when I play I said “Go for it” and I was very pleased with the outcome and my 74 year old fingers thanked me for it. 😂
