- Jonathan visits the Curaçao Sea Aquarium to learn about their dolphin program from George Kieffer, the head dolphin trainer. After taking George's dolphin class, he joins him on a dive with Annie, one of the dolphins that is trained to swim with divers on the reef outside the resort. Why don't the dolphins swim away? That's what Jonathan finds out!
JONATHAN BIRD'S BLUE WORLD is an Emmy Award-winning underwater science/adventure program.

this is one of the few actually good channels left on youtube.
No click bait
Gregor D your darn right
Yeah.. absolutely.. but only few supporting it.. so sad.
I watch this in school and I got the thinking does he have a RUclips Chanel so I looked it up and there he was Jonathan Byrd blue wrld
Yup
That's so great that they let them out for a while, I am not sure I agree with keeping dolphins or whales captive but allowing them some time in the ocean is fantastic!
Shufei nah...
No, they're intelligent enough to swim away if they want.
Me AndMeToo
It actually cant, being raised by humans it doesnt know how to interact with wild dolphins or how to hunt living fish
Yes I am so grateful to learn that Annie and the others are given the choice of environment and interactions with two leggeds ❤🐬
That's such a great way of looking after Dolphins, letting them come and go as they please. Superb.
Steve in Scotland.
As a member of the shark community, I am loathed to point out that it's undeniably specist for George to give the good fish to the dolphins and the bad fish to us.
specist! LOL
I'm a part of the killer whale community. We are kept in a box. It's sad.
sharks enjoy belly rubs and snout scratches.
Come on, that's our job!!! Sharky xxx
@@lsswappedcessna We do indeed!!! Sharky xxx
Now this is what you call an aquarium, they have safety home, theyre also free to swimout. I love this❤
This is what SeaWorld should've been like. What do you think?
Do the dolphin trainers allow the dolphins to swim free in the sea and the dolphins are tame enough to always return to the aquarium?
You are crazy!! Why are orca's attacking humans only in captivity, because they are so happy?? Their stereotype behavior, they only live 1/3 of their natural lifespan in captivity and dolphin's also. Orca's are only big dolphin's!!
They have to be FREE and IF they want to come to you, ok, but they have to catch it you monster!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS, the best of both worlds, this shld b mandatory 4 all dolphin programmes. Ty so much Jonathan 😀
I love Dolphins 🐬so much
i see jonathan's video, i click, i like and i watch :)
This is the good version of sea world dolphins are safe happy and healthy 😀🐬
I took my daughter's swimming with dolphins it was amazing fantastic experience they r so gentle my daughter's even got a kiss from them
I hope since then you have learned how cruel this industry is. While it looks like fun these are still wild animals. SWD attractions are notorious for having injuries from the animals. Stress of confinement and constant human interaction can cause them to lash out. By supporting these places you support slaughter and capture.
Jonathan, your videos are amazing, i watch alot of your videos when i was a kid and i love them.
It’s really hard to believe that this wild animal is so friendly to humans
"Why'd you ascend all of a sudden?!" He gave me the signal after petting the dolphin!
I truly love dolphins and I just want to be one
Be careful what you wish for. Did you ever see the movie "The Incredible Mr Limpett"? He kept wishing that he was a fish and one day he turned into one.
Hi Jonathan!! Love this!! please do more sea turtle videos in the future :)
"HAai I am Jonathan Bird, and wwwelcomt to my werld!"
Annie is the Star , she is so cute
I was on a cruise and we went to Curaçao. We were gonna do the encounter but we did a stingray one
Omg I went to the Curacao Sea Aquarium! I can't believe you were there!
Hi Mr. Bird!I love your videos, and I was recently telling my parents (Mr. and Mrs. Manas, both certified divers, and me this summer) about them. My dad said to me, "That name sounds familiar."Turns out that, not only did you both go to WPI, you both also majored in EE!How cool is that?!
Yeah
(It's what my dad calls it)
Really!!?? Cool. What year did he graduate?
Yes, electrical engineering. "Double E" as we call it.
1989
That's crazy!
2:16
"And selects only the best ones. The other goes to the shark exhibit."
The sharks have no good food privileges.
so awesome love these videos this one made me smile
aww that was sooo cute😍😍
incredible dolphins
Is this a re upload I'm pretty sure I saw this!!!! Amazing video nonetheless
Yes, HD re-release.
Birds doesn't love water!
This is so interesting, I've always wanted to have a Dolphin friend, and go scuba diving, I really like these videos because of the calming vibes and good information, also I'm a junior in high school and my teacher used these videos for assignments before this pandemic, but really, my only wish is if you ❤ this comment so I know you saw it.
I think your teacher must be awesome! Thanks for joining us!! :-)
I actualy like to become a marine life biologist someday and this is reason why it makes me want to be that kind of person(marine life biologist)
6:12-6:13 I’m starting to get dizzy
Love from India 😍😍😍😍
Is this encounter available to the public? I would love to take a trip down to Curacao to dive with a playful dolphin!
I'm planning my trip to the Dominican Republic for next year to encounter the breeding Humpback Whales and stumbled across your video. That's how I found you! Awesome content!
Yes, available to the public. All the other people on the dive were regular divers.
I Like
Cool
I live in Curaçao
i want to dive with jonathan bird
I wish I could be swimming with a dolphin I really can't not swim I cannot breathe underwater I cannot put swimming at thief and eater deepen
This is probably the most humane aquarium i've seen. But nonetheless - ALL aquariums and zoos must be closed down and no animal should ever have to live in captivity.
If the dolphins don't listen can they be fitted with a shock collar?
Ow!
If they dont obey commands they dont eat. Food deprivation is how they are forced to be 'cute' and 'friendly' with people.
Their organization is so amazing! I love how they allow their dolphins to go out!
You know, it got me thinking. What if Seaworld is built out at Sea?
@@artismbyjoey779 It’s not…Nowhere near as close..Seaworld sucks
@@its_ezralol Then they should move Seaworld out at sea. How's that sound?
@@its_ezralol Also don't act like these Animal Rights Weirdos.
Yeah I’m sure they love being prisoners in an aquarium.
what a beautiful experience God bless all the animals
Ricky Westen AMEN BROTHA!!!
Dolphins are not animals. They are other Zivilisation.
Amen to that
@@angelaapostel5119 as if you dont know humans and dolphins are animals, we are just more smart than others
amen
A dolphin is a underwater doggo
Awesome so jealous. Great video I wish I could have swam with the Dolphins, some day.
raymond overson so you Grammar?
You have no life +im the real fish !
Akechii The Weeb obviously he has life, how else could he type the comment? As far as I know dead people can't type.
sameer mohideen or can they?
I kissed a 'phin, and I liked it.
That place sounds amazing!!! They treat their dolphins well, giving them reefs to explore & so on.
This is still a captive facility that forces the dolphins to interact with people. Did you know that we can pass disease and illnesses to dolphins? Thats one of the reasons why it is illegal to touch wild dolphins.
How do I tag him in my comment below? Someone please help! My son has some mental issues and has loved Jonathon since his first video. That's why no one will show up to his party. He's only 7 and constantly gets bullied. It hurts me so bad and talking to Jonathan Bird would complete his life... Those were his exact words!
Love that the dolphins have a choice!
That made me cry when she basically held his hand and went with him to meet other people
Me too! It was just so precious! they are such incredible animals!
I love how they arent kept inside enclosures and how the dolphins have the best of both worlds..the freedom of the ocean but also the safety and sanctuary of the lagoon ...I wish all whales, sharks, dolphins and seals in captivity had the same opportunity
ᵀʰʳᵉᵉ ᵒᶠ ᵃ ᴷⁱⁿᵈ THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN SEA WORLD........ THESE MAMMALS CAN ACTUALLY SEE THE WORLD WITHOUT BEING CAVED IN A TANK.
Dolphins are such magnificent creatures! Am very happy for you, Jonathan, for having such a marvellous experience.
Thanks for the fantastic video, Jonathan and team.
Jonathan I'm really looking forward for some sardine run videos😜
One of these days!!!
Dophlins are probably the most cutest sea animal I have ever seen and bottlenosed dophlins are my favorite dophlin you have awsome content
How could someone dislike this? These videos make me so happy! Every single one I watch I end up clicking the next video after the next video! I can't get enough of this channel! This is one of the few good channels left on RUclips!
Dolphins are too intelligent to be in captivity for the entertainment.
These animals are smart enough to have their own names, understand sign language, have self awareness, and unfortunately can even commit suicide-not by accident.
It’s even debated(already known that they are at least almost on our intellectual level) that they could be more intelligent than us, imagine being stuck in a small space when your nature is to swim thousands of miles of open ocean with your family, and only living to do exhausting and repetitive routines for screaming people(dolphins are VERY sensitive to sound) , and being fed the same shit every single damn day.
We don’t even do this to dogs, and they are stupid as shit in comparison to dolphins(not that I don’t love those sweethearts)
And to even catch them, they have to use sound torture to freeze them in one spot and catch them separating them from their family.
It’s my dream to swim with wild dolphins, blue whales or whale sharks, but I don’t want it to be supporting a company that keeps them in captivity
@@squidneythesquid2487 Were you even listening to Jonathan when he said that unlike other Dolphins COASTAL (says it all dosn't it?) DOLPHINS do NOT swim the ocean but they DO stay near the Coast? This means it is not their instinct to swim in the ocean. Do not mean to be rude but I feel that this comment was very rude.
# TR1LOB1TE I wasn’t being rude I was explaining why someone would dislike this video. And dolphins may swim near the coast, but they swim for hundreds of miles and sometimes that’s in open ocean, they shouldn’t be kept in captivity, it’s inhumane
# TR1LOB1TE I will say that I was being a cynical happiness destroyer and I apologize, 😂
Just so some of you know, this is an HD re-release of an older episode. Jonathan uploads HD re-releases and original full videos alternatively- he said as much in a comment I read a while back.
Correct.
That's what I've been telling people..."how do you know if a dolphin don't like living in a park getting "free" food. That's cool they let out the ones that want to go out to the reef. Surprising that some rather stay in the cove pool.
amazing man !!!!! , am a diver too and i whis to dive with this beautiful dolphins😍😍😍, im so exsited to play with them in this fantastic place 😍😍😍, greet jop jonathan 👏👏
Finally a new episode I love this channel cause I love the ocean too
this wasn't new it was a HD reupload brand new episodes are usually first week of each month.

I love watching your videos, keep up the good work!!
Cool! I had the oportunity to dive with 4 wild dolphins few months ago in the red sea, I can say it was the most amazing xperience of my short diver life. 70 minuts of dive interacting with them, only 8 divers... Just a gift, a huge one.
Love your channel.
Oh my gosh that looks so fun im also in mexico and im going scuba diving so i might see dolphins to and its really fun just to watch so nice video
You shold swim with orcas!
I love that they let the dolphins do what they want 🥺❤️
Awesome
Annies like, "haha human with your ridiculously long cochlear tubes; lets see how dizzy I can make you"
LOL
Government should put more funding on this kind of project. If the org could train them and loosen them out there would be great. Very friendly sea creature. They get attached to humans that loves and cares for them.
keep up your awesome videos m8. it is ALWAYS interesting
Amy dream is to scuba dive with him and snorkel with my family
I am ten years old can I do the 🐬 program I swim
I've been wondering something. What specialties do you have experience in or been trained to do? I know for shore rebreather and EANx, since you use a rebreather, but other than that, I don't have any idea.
Not that many. I have an advanced open water certification, O2 provider, rebreather, Nitrox and I'm fully cave certified. That's it.
BlueWorldTV Honestly, I was expecting more than just those. I don't know what I was expecting, but it was more than that. Currently I'm in the open water course. Doing exams tomorrow, and I'm almost certain I'll pass.
What about rescue diver?
Great video Jon!
You’ve had so many great experiences but this must have been so fun! Love your videos.
Dolphins are shy too. I had a very early morning motor boat ,far from the beach. There were so many dolphins that swam away from us due to the noise of motor boat. It was only when we stopped the noisy motor (and our boat stopped moving) that they didn't mind swimming around our boat. It went on for some time until they swam away. In all it was a peaceful experience being around dolphins:):)
l thought your big adventure was diving Antarctica again.
Come IN INDONESIA more diverse species, especially on the island of Bali and Raja Ampat Papua, greetings from INDONESIA
I'be seen a video about Annie before, did you do a remake?
This is an HD re-release of an older episode that was only released in SD originally.
I just love 🐬 ‘s they are the BEST
Sea dog....i love dolphins😘😘😘😘
My mom did this. . I would never .. sea aquarium "aquarium " , how about in the natural habitat?
I would love you dive in the uk 🇬🇧 Jonathon I just love ❤️ your vids keep up the good work I would love dive with you it is AMAZING 👻
that one moment that your going to the baltimore aquarium but you have went there
Don’t much care for using animals as entertainment or tourist attractions
Is ur show ever gonna be on Netflix
Not sure. We are on Amazon Prime.
How much dolphins have u encountered before? Just wanna know :3
I saw a dolphin walk in person it was so funny I even saw a seal
😄 she's so cute! I wanna be friends with her 😍
I would really like to go diving with you and one day I would like you to teach me if you can
I went to sea world and they let me pet a dolphin. It was so cool. I always wanted to swim with a dolphin
Michael: So, Annie are you ok?
I just go ahead and click like right at the start because I know I will!
:-)
Is no one going to talk about the fact that the dm messed with JONATHAN BIRD’S tank valve?
The nerve!!!
It’s not a huge deal in this case, but experienced divers tend to get touchy when people mess with their gear - at least that’s the trend I have heard! Thanks for the reply!
This is where sally the pilot whale is from right??
Yes! Good memory!
they spit in there goggles so they dont fog up and they wont become part blind
Don't you know that
Dolphins IQ is higher than my IQ lol😂
I wan't to dive with the dolphins to
Just come to wales uk, they are everywhere. Though we tend to leave them alone
I like how the dolphin feeder separated the kinds of fish grades to feed dolphins and sharks separately?
I like how that dolphin instructor was giving special detailed instructions. Very intimate and professional friendly.
I love to see people share experiences that show playful acts with dolphins.
Thank you so much💙💚❤️
Thanks for watching!
2:31 lol thanks I always wondered what the texture of their skin felt like.
i love all kinds of dolphin
Me too! Fried, sauteed, baked, ceviche...
@@seikibrian8641💀💀
That dolphin reminds me of a dog.
how ironic his name is bird yet he is associated with the sea and not the sky.
A Dolphin is a wild animal and was not created to be trained for a source of income for man. Kept in enclosures or restricted! People like these men should be ashamed of themselves!
Great video
