Awktually, this is an IS-8. They changed the designation because the soviet era and stalin had fallen out of favor or something like that.

isnt that also considered the IS-5? or the IS-5 was the T1-/IS-8 prototype?
@@Donir100 iirc the is-5 is the is-2 hull and turret with a 100mm cannon i think in game its the obj. 248 could be wrong tho
@@mauie8125 No that was one of the variants of the IS-2 witha dif gun, the actual IS-5 was a total diferent tank named OBJ 730, whorever stuff about the IS-5 is almost unknown and some say its the T-10 prototype.
Also, the IS-6 was the original IS-4 if you check the whole IS history.
This comment section is both right and wrong. The T10s changed designations quite a bit going from IS8/9 and ending in IS10 to be changed to T10 due to destalinization. As for the IS5, yes the object 248 was the first IS5 but the soviets do like to reuse designations a lot so was later used for something else, the IS2 woth the 122mm gun we know also isnt the first IS2 they designated as is

this thing is what helped me grind the Russian tree years ago when it came out. was a lot more fun back then. but i do hope to see it's brother the T-10B come into the game at 8.0 in the TT. that'd be nice to see.
i remember when this was around ~$30 and i do enjoy it, i do prefer the T-10M because the A is just a earlier variant, but i do enjoy this tank quite a bit, alongside the PT-76-75 and a few other vehicles

I thought way too long about buying this thing and gifted it to myself a few days ago. Damn, should have bought it long ago, I love the russian heavy deck with IS-4M, IS-6 and T10-A. Thanks to the sale I constantly fight Somua SM and Vidars, got a 81% win rate after the first 30 games with the T10-A. Thank god I don't like Hightier so there are only a very few things I would like to buy and I don't care about the sales anymore...
It used to be pretty bad to be honest, things have shifted around though and "metas" have changed so its in a pretty good place now :)
@@TurnyPlays Yeah, that's why I didn't get it earlier. Should've traded my Leo 2AV for it right after the BR changes last year, now I had to spend 20 bucks and the Leopard.
Never liked the russian heavies (reloadtime...) but it changed.

It is the IS8 but it was made when the Stalin era ended so they changed the name from IS (JS) to T- whatever

Why is the D round terrible?
Angle pen sucks on the D round sadly, more useful to use against flat surfaces, you can take a mix of both if you think you need the extra pen, but main the B round :)
Have you played the Su-122-54? If so i would give it a look its on a T-44 chassis and has a really good 122 @@TurnyPlays

This not getting kill assist for obvious damage is getting on my nervs the last 1-2months. Destroying tracks,barrells,engines and the game does not count it... Same thing with planes. blowing their wing off and while diving to the ground someone else just nicks them with a .50cal after that I only get an assist...come on man...
