I remember as a kid we'd get so hot and tired after a day at Disneyland in Anaheim CA. We'd head over to watch the birdies sing and cool off. Great memories of growing up in the 70's in California.
This attraction will always be one of my all time favorites the original show was magical. The under new management one took the magic out of it for me.
in november of last yr, i came and saw the tiki room. and i ate a dole whip, it was pretty hot but not terribly hot. i must say having a dole whip and eating it while watching this was nice to escape the heat for a while :)
well America Sings IS still there (just not in the location it used to be and those chararacters are singing "Zip=a-dee-doo-dah" now. yeah i miss the bears too. in fact my two favorite bear shows arn't even shown in the U.S.anymore (yes in case you hadn't heard WDW ditched the Christmas show in '06) fortunatly Tokyo still shows both Vacation & Christmas although both are slightly different than what we had here in the states.
@andrewvickers1992 that is correct. there was a fire in the attic of the attraction that caused major Damage. the Atrtraction was closed for around 8m months and during that time it was decided to bring the original attraction--albeit altered, back to the Magic Kingdom
My lovely Tikki Room! Goodness gracious this is my favorite place in the entire park! My grandma loved the Tikki Room and we'd call her so that she could sing along with us everytime we went ;') Its not the same without anyone to call now but its still my favorite place ever. If they dare take it down or remodel it like the one in Walt Disney World I will be so mad!!! It's the best thing I have left of her (: lol and plus whenever the thunder comes my sis and I scream really loud and that's fu
four years later! You'll be fine. the only reason they redid the one in florida is because it caught fire so they tried something else for it. Nothing will beat the classic.
the sing along portion with the boys giving the words made this song even better than the theme song. I grew up with this at DisneyLand, but I could never whistle along. But it was great to hear the whistlers try to keep up. WDW needs to put that back. I'm glad its still at DisneyLand. I miss the Country Bears though. Need Florida for that. America Sings is no where! :( Thats a real crime! thank God for video tapers and youtube.
What is this? This is not the one from Disneyland that I grew up with. There was no Bing Crosby in that show and a bunch of other changes. Is this Disney World's version?

My Grandfather would play this song on the piano and sing in his barbershop quartet voice while I danced around the room as a child 🎈🐳🛰🛸

WDW cut the Sing-along part out of the version that just reopened.thank goodness it's still in the Disneyland version
