2:12 For those wondering why Deckard recites passages from "Treasure Island" when he first sees K, that moment is a very subtle reference to Dave Holden (the Blade Runner Kowalski shoots at the beginning of the first movie). In a deleted scene from the 1982 film, Deckard visits Holden in the hospital, finding him reading "Treasure Island" as a way to pass the time. Keep in mind that Holden was the closest thing Deckard had to a loved one before he met Rachael. In fact, both men used to meet frequently to share their sorrows and drink alcohol until they decided to stop seeing each other to prevent the efficiency of the other from being affected in case one of them died in the line of duty. When Deckard sees K after spending decades isolated from society, he at first can't tell if the man he is seeing after many years alone is Holden (who probably would have searched him in order to see his old friend again or just kill him for betraying the Police Department) or someone else, so he recites passages from the book to study his reaction
Hahaha.Lmao no. You're not even remotely close. Where did you even get the idea that Rick and Dave were old friends? Nothing about that kind of relationship is mentioned in the movie or the book. Go back and check your sources lol, and maybe pay attention to the material for once 😉
It's been a year, and I still come back here from time to time. This is probably my favorite movie edit ever. God bless whoever made this. And God bless each and every one of you who feel alone and learned to live like this.
For real, it is special in a weird, but good weird, way. The scenery talks more to you than the characters, the lore slowly builds up and honestly it's something I've never seen in movies before. Maybe because I'm just getting into this stuff but yeah its an amazing movie
I think most of the reason for that is Villenueve’s directing + the score. Most other directors would cut a lot of scenes out, speed up the pacing and focus on the most action packed moments, whereas he let the audience get absorbed by the world. When I look back at the movie in my head most of what I remember are those long, slow exterior shots while some beautiful piece of music was playing. I think those are the moments that make you truly immersed in the world and thanks to them we can connect to the story, K, and all the other characters more easily and feel like we are on the journey with them instead of just watching it. Or maybe I’m just talking about stuff I have very basic knowledge of. Anyway it is one of my favorite movies of all time and that’s the conclusion I came to when trying to justify my love for it
@@erenzu the original blade runner was the same, and both films are always focused on scenery, specifically the 1982. the 1982 directors cut was more about Ridley Scott showing off what kind of world he created, rather then developing a typical narrative for the time, eg star wars and indian jones, hence why its a cult film and disliked by others as it is unclear to what it is going on.

Her spinning at the end laughing with joy then back to him fading away of life really caught me off guard..the things we do to make others happy just to have as a memory of peace.🖤
*Fun fact:* Long before Blade Runner 2049, the original film already had in the nineties three sequels in novel format called "The Edge of Human", "Replicant Night" and "Eye and Talon", all written by K.W. Jeter. In fact, the first sequel novel was scripted under the name of "Blade Runner Down" in order to make a movie adaptation, but the project ended up being cancelled. In those novels, in addition to including elements previously exclusive to the original book by Philip K. Dick (such as the character of Isidore), a lot of crazy sh*t happens: -Deckard leaves Earth and participates in a biopic about his confrontation with Roy Batty's gang. In fact, Jeter predicted with this part the use of CGI to replace the face of the actors. -Holden is rescued from the hospital and receives biomechanical organs by another Roy Batty replicant (whose memory is transferred to a briefcase after he dies), being then killed by a Leon Kowalski replicant in a recreation of the opening scene of the original film during the filming of Deckard's movie. -Rachael is killed by Sarah Tyrell (Eldon Tyrell's niece and shaper of the replicant) and is supplanted by her killer as Deckard's lover -Sebastian resurrects Pris (who is discovered that she is not a replicant, but a demented human) as a zombie and loses almost all of his limbs due to his degenerative disease. Later, Sebastian meets a sect of humans who worship replicants, which turns him into the God of a pocket universe so he can find happiness. -The sixth replicant mentioned in the original film and the fact that Kowalski safely walked into the Tyrell Corporation carrying a gun turn out not to be plot holes, but part of a conspiracy by the United Nations and the Tyrell Corporation to exterminate the blade runners Also, there are unrelated products (such as the Paul W.S. Anderson's movie "Soldier" movie, the "Bubblegum Crisis" anime or the "Total Recall 2070" series) that are considered by the fandom as unofficial continuations of Blade Runner
Soldier is one of Kurt Russell’s most under appreciated films. He provided a very solid performance barely saying a word. It’s right up there with Karl Urban’s Judge Dredd.

This movie made me buy a black trench coat
Nice edit. 2049 is so cruel to it's protagonist.
Him asking about Rachel reminded me of me finding out for 30 years of my life my father wasn't my father. And I went and searched for my real father.
Edit foda mano, bom trabalho!
This is amazing
Parabéns edição top. Uma pena não ter tantos filmes de ficção cientifica tão bons como Blade Runner.
the whey you used the beats to change scenes ... good job! this film has a profund meaning to me and i love that music.
Real editing that shows all the power of Ryan Gosling and the soul of this movie. Great !
