- Winning gold and silver medals in four Olympics, Russian figure skating legend Evgeni Plushenko is hailed as the "King on Ice" by fans across the world. Best known for his cracking jumps, the Biellmann spin, ballet movements and dazzling footsteps, the enduring skater has presented a number of classic programs including Tribute to Nijinsky, The Godfather and Tango Amore. After announcing his retirement from competitions in 2017, Plushenko started coaching and is still active in various ice shows.

The first time I saw Evgeni Plushenko, I was so impressed and also wondered if he was a Scorpio due to his intensity, passion, and rapidity on the ice. He was, and I also wondered if he was inclined to push himself to the limit and beyond> I learned he'd had serious back injuries with surgery after surgery and he'd kept going throughout until he finally had to bow out. As a dancer who also used to push myself too far, I understand what it's like to have injuries force one to stop performing and I hope Evgeni can find satisfaction in coaching other talented skaters like his son. Evgeni's a legend!

He is a true ice king. Up to today 2022, no one has all the ice skating integrity that he has, technique, artistry, beauty, elegance, speed, foot sequence, flexibility, arm and leg s' extension, posture, body language, facial expression, you name it he has them all.
