3 months try out is very smart. I hope you find what you are seeking. I am looking forward to hearing what is seamless and what is challenging in this adventure you are on. I’m guessing Malaysia - but who knows. I’m sorry Canada is not what makes you feel at home. Best wishes to you both and kisses to the children.
Sounds a lot like the Malaysia I know ❤. We are also moving there from Canada in Nov or Dec. Hope the process goes well! Imigration can be difficult, we also have a few kinks to figure out.
Malaysia is heaven but the visa process is a nightmare for foreigners. But after much political instability, now under the new government it will hopefully get better. Also opening businesses here is easy.
We moved to Karachi, Pakistan from Canada in 2022 for 6 months to test the water. But unfortunately, we moved back to Canada because of work. Our next destination to test the water is Malaysia, Indonesia and Islamabad, Pakistan
Whatever country you choose, make sure you join the expat community there.. it will be a big help to adjust your family to the local environment.. Good Luck!
Really looking forward to explore with you guys and learn about the life style and education system to find a new nest for me and my family. I absolutely agree, this place is becoming harder and harder to live both religiously and economically. Best of luck for your journey! ✌🏼
This is such a good idea and I would encourage anyone to do 3 months stay before you settle and give up everything, especially if you're moving to a place like Malaysia. I lived there the passed 4 months and realised the Visa process wasn't going to work for us. Visa in Malaysia is so difficult and may not be for everyone. Also their private schools are very expensive. Otherwise it is a wonderful country.
I hope all goes beautifully for you. Can’t wait to see where you’re going! No matter our differing beliefs, I respect your desire to find the best place for your family.
Being boots on the ground is ABSOLUTELY the way to go. Pretty much every visa processes much faster if you are actually based in that country (even as a tourist). I'm from New Zealand, and this is my no.1 piece of advice for anyone wanting to move. Yes, it can be expensive and inconvenient and requires a bit of a leap of faith, but it can often be the difference between making a permanent move a reality or not. If you want to wait for the 'perfect time' or perfect set of circumstances to move, it probably won't happen.
Moving to other countries should take into consideration also the health system, safety, and education system if you decide for public school, and ability to have salary in foreign currency to support life
Assalaam walaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh I am so happy to be on this journey with you. My husband and I in our hearts really don't want to be in Canada anymore also.
