Great stuff! This month I have been obsessing over the string quartets. Perhaps I'll even change my MuseScore template to say "Violin I, Violin II, Big Violin, Giant Violin". 😂 (lol my bad, I see that it is a double bass in there so I guess it should be Violin I-II in treble clef, Violin III in alto clef, and then the Big Violin in bass clef). 😅
amazing little documentary, very inspiring thank you ! would you mind to name the last string quartett in the video ? it very much reminds of john williams star wars battle themes, i think it is the rebellion theme ...
When I was younger, I preferred symphonies. Now I prefer chamber music and string quartets in particular.

Lots of love for the violas, we can call them the mid size violin
Great summary. At some point would love to hear your take on extensions to the format, i.e. string quintets, sextets and octets!
I recorded mine right before the pandemic. Great Videos, earned a sub.

Imagine if they had included Hydn in the film Amadeus😮
Beethoven wrote 16 quartets, not 15.
I believe 15 plus the Grosse Fugue.
