In those days, 70s, as now Orchestra Kiam music is in its own class. I am 60 years but still enjoy the music as i did back in 1979. I wonder, can't imagine the reception had these guys made it to Kenya!
Kiam had a very unique way of starting their songs that made it posible to identify their songs right from the start. I believe no any other band had tried that. These guys were really in cloud nine.
Reminds me of my high school days at Ribe Secondary school. Weekends were incomplete without "kajogoo." It's sad I can't remember all those ex-schoolmates. Hope they are alive.
Answer to jm04151975. The rhythmist of this particular song was Lele N'sundi; and it was being referred to as ''Minor rhythm'' whatever that means. It was heavily rumoured that he is the one who made vata Mombasa to flee to ivory coast because he (Lele N'sundi) spoilt his market with the rhythm masterly.
Thanks ! I have researched this band and discovered that Lele Nsundi passed away in Libreville way back in 1985! Also discovered that this band had five vocalists!!! You can't beat that.
Lele nsudi was orch kiams rythimist he was bad news, he made vata Mombasa to seek musical asylum in Ivory coast. Since he Lele was the top of the tops,
@waketch No Wakech, sadly they never made it to Kenya, there was a misconception then that Zairean bands were more popular in West Africa, perhaps 'cause of the French connection but unknown to many, they were by far more popular here. They however composed many songs where they sang of their desire to visit Kenya, we have their CD's however
@jm04151975 Are you sure they came to Kenya? As far as I know, they were in the preparation of coming to Kenya when they disbanded. And this hit Pamuzo was their last production,if I'm not wrong.Yes,the late Oluoch Kanindo was a producer and later an MP.They even mentioned him in this song,@7.41.
the group did come to kenya and there is an Lp out there recorded by Kanindo himself in Kenya. in the lp, they mention all the good stuff they did and got in Kenya. it is here on youtube , i once played all the songs on it. look for it.

Hiyo ni moto zama zake
Powerful rythmst
The rhythm guitarist I believe is "Chomoni"
He is evident throughout other kiam tunes as well as Vata Mombassa of Lipua Lipua.

This band was brought into the country by a producer known as Kanindo circa 1976. They performed at Girango lodge-- Migori town and left the next day.
