I once got a resume where the candidate had written, under Achievements, "Came third in tug of war interhouse competition in 2007" 😂😂😂 Wish I could attach a photo here of that portion of the resume

I have done hundreds (probably thousands) of interviews so far in my life. One thing I can say is that one needs to make it brief when comes to resumes (like you don't have time to read thousands of lines for others, so doesn't the interviewer). If one can't put their thoughts together while documenting their own work experience briefly, then it shows the person is not clear on what s/he is good at or what his/her skills are. Talk about your experience, not write it that's the mantra.

Oh my God.. Neville’s explanation on the hobbies part was so accurate.. 2 yrs back when I had published a paper in tech and all the shit but was asked to edit my CV by placement cell because I didn’t had my address and photo in it😅

yes the last session was really amazing especially the girl in the woods.
In my case, it was the opposite: There was an entrance exam for International Relations which I didn’t ‘crack’ but I didn’t have to give an entrance exam for UG Sociology because our batch was the second ever batch, I guess.
After a few years, the entrance exam for UG Sociology was introduced.
Varun is still preparing the character of 83 movie to get selected. This time he is trying for Srikanth.

Bawas point on people coming to interview call without any basic preparation is bang on that pisses me off as well while taking interviews
14:09 I remember this from our summer school. We were visiting a business school and we were told to make a HELTER-SKELTER using Dried Spaghetti. Some of us tried but it was impossible, which was the whole point of the exercise: Quit while you’re ahead.
41:41 It’s a practice that should definitely change. I’m not saying that there shouldn’t be boundaries or professionalism but it can’t be this nightmare that employees walk into for hours on end.
A random advice but has helped me a lot
Trying going through the blogs of the company you're interviewing for. They are easily available on their website and help you with a few jargons which uses.
Your interviews become a discussion which the interviewer would appreciate.
Even though nobody asked, here was my experience with BMM in 2013.
I applied in three places - Wilson's, Xavier's, & Don Bosco. In each places, we had to start off with a entrance exam. Since most (or i think all) colleges take in just one batch of 50 - 60 students for the year, the competition is stuff. And the amount of people that apply is massive.
Since digital marketing & events scene was booming, more people applied. At Xavier's, I gave my entrance exams besides hundreds of people in a massive hall. And they had more people coming in every 30 minutes and it went of for a Week! Weirdly, i think they gave preference for science students which, now that I think about it, makes no sense.
Got shortlisted in DB. Gave an interview.
Got in.
Also BMM has been renamed to - Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia and Mass Communication (BAMMC)

I have a simple formula with CVs: Just go to Pages and get a template. Usually, they look good.

While I've made dozens of resume for friends ever since the first lockdown, I was kinda nervous about mine. Immigrating to Canada next month, your thoughts and tips really helped me ease up on myself. I'm a professional writer and a newbie comic, but I also want to explore my tech support skills in a new country. I realized, I'm doing most of the things right and now I have a networking strategy in mind and I'm a lot less stressed about presenting my best self forward. Thank you Varun, Kautuk and Neville.
