Bicycle shorts have elastic with gripper loops on the inside that keep the legs in place so they don’t ride up. You could add the elastic inside the hems.
So love the comment on making😮 a skort out of left over print. 👍🏻👍🏻 But mostly I jumped on to say that is wonderful news about your mum. So happy for you all.
If you have enough floral fabric you could make a simple elastic waist skirt to wear with the Dara to get a dress look. I love the idea of the knit shorts under the skort, so much more practical. Can't wait to see the plaid dress!
You should make a matching skirt with that flower fabric to wear with your planned flower top, it would look like a dress if you wore them together. Both would also work well on their own with other tops or bottoms.
Love the fabrics & th3 makes. Skort looks very nice on you. I’m playing catch up with sewing & housecleaning from being sick last week. Doing much better and I’ve had a couple of wonderful days in my sewing room.
Your makes look great! I can't wait to see the Dara blouse when it's done. And the trousers for your daughter too. Glad you're out having fun with your mom. :) BTW, your hair looks fantastic!
I live in skorts! I wouldn’t go golfing with out them. So glad about your mom. My mom, aunt and grandma all had ovarian cancer. We went on a beautiful vacation when my mom was in remission to Sanibel Island with all my siblings, spouse’s, and grandchildren. A wonderful memory. So happy you can make lots more. Peace, Chrissy
Yay. The Seamwork top. As soon as you were talking about the lace I thought of that pattern. I can not wait to see that on you. I am so interested in sewing that up, as well. Also, if you don't have enough left over for a dress, what about a lovely skirt that could be put together to look like a dress? That would also be super cute, imo. Have fun!
I just listed on destashify a cotton sweater kit in this peachy color! It ended up not being in my color palette 😮 but I love seeing you make up items with my previous dream fabrics/yarn. ❤❤❤
Love your makes. I made the Tinley out of drapey twill(?maybe). I made the flowy version, but I think I like the straight look better. Very nice. Please let me know how it works with that fabric as a golf skirt. I am the same as you, I have used wicking athletic fabrics, but I do LOVE linen.
I really like the linen top! Looks perfect for spring/summer. I have a question for you - I thought I remembered seeing a video where you mentioned using a loop of elastic with a button (instead of twill tape/ribbon) as a waistband closure… does that sound familiar? I’m working on the Closet Core Fiore wrap skirt and would like a little more give in the waistband and am trying to come up with options. I thought this was something you had done but now I can’t find the video. Perhaps I’m wrong! I figured it was worth asking - either way, thanks in advance. 😊
Oh I just love that linen so much! It looks so good! Fabulous job on both! How does the straight Tinley short compare to the ITS Belize shorts? Have you made that Tinley version? I don't know if you have heard of Jones & Vandermeer but I ordered some Robert Kaufman linen from them. Its a perrywinkle gingham! 😍 Can't wait! Its not cheap but hopefully worth it.
That's a great question! I haven't made the straight shorts on the Tinley yet, but that would be a good comparison. I'll do that this summer and let you know. I do like the skort version of the Tinley better than the skort version of the Belize. I like that the shorts underneath are a more fitted bike short on the Tinley. Ummm, periwinkle gingham sounds AMAZING and is going to be such a great color on you!!! I'm going to have to go take a look as I haven't heard of that shop before!
I have discovered a new RUclips channel, Color Class, which focuses on color theory in fashion. Whitney, have you invested in PEACH FUZZ, the Pantone color of the year? Your peach linen made me think of it and it is a great choice for your Copper Spring. In their review of Pantone for this coming fall & winter is totally autumn, as a Moonlit Summer (Hi Jenny!) there was only one color in any summer palette. It's will be a great opportunity for your fall wardrobe planning video to take on the age old question "How to be on trend when Pantone says your not." Love your work!

good suggestion!
Button up/down blouse is very flattering. Especially the blouse/shirt length you have with long pants is a flattering proportion.
Thank you so much!
I started wearing skirts when I was in high school. I started again last year when we went to Hawaii. I love them!
Yes! I love that!
So love the comment on making😮 a skort out of left over print. 👍🏻👍🏻

Thankyou!
Love the Skort!! I can not wait to see your new makes!!! Thank you for always inspiring us!!!
You are so welcome!

That could work with the leftovers!
thank you for the idea of a linen skort. When I think skort I always think athletic wear. Definitely grabbing this pattern for this make.
I'm so glad!

Great idea!! that's the fun part of having a wardrobe in a pallet where everything matches!
Love the fabrics & th3 makes. Skort looks very nice on you. I’m playing catch up with sewing & housecleaning from being sick last week. Doing much better and I’ve had a couple of wonderful days in my sewing room.
Glad you are feeling better and back to the sewing machine!

Thank you so much!
That Seamwork pattern is gorgeous, and how perfect your seller included lace!
it was such a perfect surprise!

Thank you! It was a wondeful trip with my mom and sister!
The floral rayon challis will absolutely coordinate with the Tinley skort you have.
Yes!!
From here, that fabric looks like it will go great with the skort.
It actually matches quite nicely!
I love Pattern Scout!
They are good!
I will be anxious to see the Seamwork top you make. I am a member and don’t make up nearly enough of their patterns.
They have so many good patterns to work through!
Tammy at love notions made the Tinley to match a blouse. It was so cute. I had enough fabric to match a Vivace and it will be my new go to .
Sounds so cute!

Stay tuned for the blouse!
You look great in coral shirt!!! You look great in shirts period!😊
Thank you!
Also love all your projects and new fabrics and plans! So spring inspiration!🎉
Yay for Spring!!
I'm just about to cut my first Made 4 Mermaids Tinley! Thanks for the inspo!
wonderful! They have so many good patterns!
I just listed on destashify a cotton sweater kit in this peachy color! It ended up not being in my color palette 😮 but I love seeing you make up items with my previous dream fabrics/yarn. ❤❤❤
I love destashify so we can all find what works best for us but also have good places for our once loved fabrics
I love the skort on you! Did you make an adjustment to make it more of a pencil silhouette? The others I have seen online, look more a-line.
No, I cut it out as the pattern was drafted. It's just how it lays on my body.
Orange red shows out more from here! Cannot wait to see everything made up!!!😊
Me too! I love the floral!
I love your hair so much shoulder length, it is very becoming! :+) So glad to her your mother is doing well.
How is Joyce's husband doing??
Thank you so much! It's been a while since it's been this long and I'm enjoying the change!

It's just the little change int he fabric that changes the garment so much!
From a distance, the red lace matches better.
❤️❤️❤️

The loop of elastic trick wasn't me, but now you have me curious! If you find it, let me know! I often want just a bit more give in fitted waistbands!
@@TomKatStitchery thank you for your response, Whitney! If I figure it out I’ll let you know!

I actually filmed a video about peach fuzz a month or so ago! ruclips.net/video/RNqGfetWz5c/видео.html
oooh pattern release-I'm hoping its that wrap dress. I cant stop thinking about it-have my fabric all ready to go😀
Stay tuned!!
Stay tuned!!
Can you cut the skirt part on the bias to avoid having to match the plaid?
Good suggestion, I hadn't thought about that.
Fun plaid 🎉😂
Very Summery!
Hi Whitney will you do a Protea tutorial please?
Paradise Patterns Protea? They look cute!
@@TomKatStitchery yes thanks
Boho blouse ❤
Yes!
