I have only Been on two skis once. First time I tried and got up. Went outside the wake on both sides a couple of times and let go so I could try a single. Got up first try and single skied for years and for miles sometimes twenty at a time. Got rid of my boats and changed to snow skiing for years. Skied last year at 81. Haven’t been this year yet. I never needed water ski instruction but this is a good video. I have introduced a number of folks to water skiing. One of the pleasures of having boats. Very rewarding. It’s all frozen water now. Around 75 mountains including two glaciers in Europe. Stay active folks.
One tip. I was taught, when the skier is ready for the boat to go, not to use the word go because it sounds too much like no. Say, the rope got rapped around the skiers hand and the skiers yelled out NO, the boat driver may think go. We use either OK or hit it.
Wow!! I did not know how easy it was to water ski!! You made it very easy and fun for me, thank you, I will now water ski thanks to you!!! Thank you so much!! 💜
The problem for both the skier and the driver is that immediately after "punching it," the boat has to continue at almost full power for a considerable distance, during which time, it will scare a beginner skier. So a beginner needs to expect a fast run "at first," and look forward to hearing the motor gradually back off to a reasonable cruising speed.
I get so close and then the ski comes off and throws me into the water...I have no idea what's happening, like it's almost too tight to get on but it pops right off when I try to get up
Getting up on two is stupid easy. Getting up on one, not so much, but depends on the driver, the ski, the speed, the skier, the prop, and the conditions of the water. Dropping is easy, slalom is more fun, but must go at least 22 mph, depending on weight, ski length, etc... 22 for me slalom is doable but slower than should be. 22.5 foot pontoon with a 115hp and power prop made for faster starts. Slalom should be 26-36 depending on skill level.
You need to keep your weight back and make sure the boat goes very fast. Before you try though stay on 2 and put all weight on one ski and lift the other one up about a cm. Remember you do not have to but the other foot at the back you can have it as a trail foot to your side
Who else though the girl in the thumbnail of the video had no arms and was balancing on a board handsfree before they turned the brightness up on their phone

Cannot agree enough. Errant ropes will seriously mess you up. We use "punch it!"
I thought the same thing when she said go** we say *hit it. Never mistake it
we say hit it
this is the best beginner water ski tutorial video i’ve seen. thank you!!
We always said, "Hit it!"

I was able to get up in my first few tries. Just have to work on balance once I’m up now but other than that this vid was actually helpful!
@Trooper Jaxon Walker what’s good
@Dare Master oh
Amazing how different getting up feels from boarding. The water pulls your feet apart
Thank you for this! I’ve taken 4 tries so far and I haven’t got up so I’ve been kinda down. I hope this helps me to get up! 🤞
Did it?
Took me six
skill issue,
Good video, right on. I've found that the only way to learn is to just do it. It's like riding a bike - once you got it, you got it.
Great video! Going to give it a try
My cousin tried to do it with one ski it's hard to do but he was close after 20 or 30s tries
I would like to try waterskiing. It looks fun.
That is going to help my buddy
Yay thx I am trying today

I know how to water ski but I just wanted to improve on it
I got so much water up my nose, how do I stop that and also how do I get up faster
Idk if this will help but you should try to look above the tree line or to the horizon, not down at the water 😊
This looks so fun but scary also
Do you need to attach the rope to the top
No unless you are going off the wake next to the boat
nice bruu
Nice
thx for this video very helpful
what is that video
I got up my second try ever
