Hey, you started doing 3 miles a day. It took you 5 days to do your first 15 miles, now you are doing 10-15 a day, that is amazing. Sure, other people are doing 20-30, but I bet none increased there starting mileage by a factor of 4 or more. You are improving, and that is the real goal. Now, it would be killing your self to do 15+ miles, but at the start that was 4_ miles and that is a massive improvement. Keep up the good work.
You are likely already past it now, but I just did ~24 miles heading south on the PCT heading out of Horseshoe Meadows near Lone Pine, it is stunning in that area.

Do a reality check on your pace and daily distances. Those hikers logging 20 plus miles a day are hardly regular people. They are mostly young athletes, pounding down the trail too fast to see much except the trail right in front of them. Lots of them will develop problems that force them off the trail. Ten miles is a long way. Invite any of your friends from the real world, to come do even one leisurely 10 mile day. They will be asking you to slow down, take a break, their feet will hurt. And they won't be carrying the extra 100 pounds that you carry 24 hours a day. You are doing amazing. Your still out there. Thousands of fans and followers are really impressed are what you are accomplishing. You are the man

Over 23 thousand subscribers and this being his first long distance hike definitely puts him ahead of the pack. Most long distance hikers have to have at least one of the Triple Crown hikes (AT, PCT, and CDT) under their belt and attempting the second leg before that get even close to that amount of subscribers. Speed and distance per day isn't important to most of us. It's his tenacity to stay on the trail and keep trying to reach his goal, which in the beginning, wasn't to be a thru-hiker (complete the whole trail) but to lose weight and gain back his health.

Don't concern yourself about what distances others are doing! Only think about what you are trying to do. You do need to push yourself to achieve your goals. It is great that Little Bee is there to keep you moving when the miles on the trail seem long. That IS what you need when you need it! You should be thankful that she is there to help.
Look what you have done and how much you can now do! Keep going and you WILL be making twenty miles a day. Stay strong.

Wooohooo! 700 miles! The quote on today's page of the Best Self journal that I use says, "It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. - Confucious" Clearly that was placed there just for you on this video's release date, Corey, and for all of us that are drawing courage and inspiration and group power because we relate to being slower, carry more weight or baggage, dealing with the extra complexities that our situation brings to the journey. Watching you navigate when to push yourself and when to honor the pain and take more care is a beautiful gift. Thanks for sharing yourself so openly so that we can learn along with you!

There is no where else you could have met so many interesting and wonderful people. I am just so thankful you allow me the excitement of following you on this adventure. Your laugh is infectious, that and your tender soul is what drew me to watch along.

My first knowledge of the PCT is when my friend's mom did it in the late 80's. I wish that I could ask her questions about it but I lost track of her. I would buy the book if Andrew publishes it. Don't worry that you're slow. You're not slow. There are people that walk faster than you but the trail is about you and the trail along with those that you meet. Thank you for sharing your journey. Hike on and be safe.

Your second victory was to get this far! 👍👏✌ The slowest on the trail? Did you want to be the fastest? Set a new record time? 😮 And let's face it, you were slower at the beginning! 😉 It would be a pity if you forget what you have achieved! And you are way ahead of millions of people who never just try to hike the trail!!!

Continue to listen to your body and try to enjoy the journey instead of worrying about miles. And don’t listen to the haters. Enjoy your burgers when you get a chance. You’ve earned them and can worry about healthy eating when this is done. Through hiking is not about healthy eating. I’m sure you will work on a healthier diet when you return home. It’s not really easy to eat healthy on the trail and you should be able to enjoy good food along the way. You look great:)

One more thing---the dry heaves thing could be an unbalance of electrolytes. When you sweat a lot in the heat you lose a lot of salts. The seaweed was definitely a good thing to help counteract that.

@@johnhouchins3156 off the trail it usually involves "the lure of fumes": perfume. On the trail there is not much perfume unless it was a female you meet at a trail head.I have to admit I miss the richness of the odors that hikers give off- to a point. I have never heard the term "pink blazing"- I do like it.

👍👍👍👍👍You know, for the last few years I have watched some heavy folks start the trail. It is a dream of mine too, so I was hoping to see someone else be successful. They always did a few videos and then fizzled out. It is great to see someone like you who has the determination and great attitude. Makes me feel like, if I can get it arranged in my life to go, then Ill make it too. I am going through a healing process from an injury. It sucks, cause my energy levels are ahead of what my body can do most of the time. But pushing beyound what one is ready for sets you back in the long run. Go at your own pace, trust your instincts, they have been right on so far. I know it sucks, but you may just have to let them go on ahead and hope youll see them later. If it is meant to be, it will happen. And you have a bunch more folks to meet anyway. Keep on trekking!

G'day from Australia. I've been following for a while now. I'm a slim reasonably fit guy, and the PCT would whip my ass completely. The mental and physical strength to do it would crush the vast majority of people, even outdoor types like me. The fact that you just cleared 700m is crazy. Keep on keeping on dude.

Congrats on 700 milestone. You are carrying some extra weight. Remember the inches are melting off of you. Listen to your body and act accordingly. Stay safe, well & hydrated. Enjoy your journey. That was one monster size hamberger. It was interesting watching you attempt to bite into that beast. WOW a travel trailer shop. The People Project...wait for the book to be published.
