Love the “Cs get degrees”!! That’s how I got through all my schools. Also now understand that I can’t get better until I get out of my overwhelming environment.
I tell my self, that implementing new habits, is like beginning to take vitamin pills. Taking ONE is not gonna cut it, but that you build it up. Each vitamin pill is a building block. Important, no waste of time or action. In time you will feel more and more advantage. That seems to make super good sense to my mind. Likely because I have had good experiences with vitamin pills 😊

I’m Palestinian (not in Gaza or anything) and obviously these past 9 months haven’t been easy. I’m also starting to wake up to many other injustices and genocides in the world such as Sudan and Congo. Do you have tips on how to manage this? I get stuck in the freeze response and I start being unable to feel anything, and I feel guilty for it. I also can’t show up for the people like I would like to. I know as a fellow SWANA person you are feeling this too. What can we do??
thanks for this have some clarity of whats happening to me since i have that bad experience its like when it crosses my mind i freeze and feel unwell and trying this helps me somehow to process it thank so much i hope you create more value videos 🥰
Hi! Thank you for your videos! I feel ADHD (state of paralysis, executive dysfunction) looks like a freeze response. Could ADHD be an expression of the freeze state? Thank you!
What about if you are finding it really hard to get back into your window of tolerance? Like when youre in hypoarousal and you try to get out of it and go into panic and then it just keeps bouncing between the two? And what about with emotional flashbacks, or when your like down that shame spiral? What can help with them?
As someone who has lived in the freeze state for over 15 years (due to cptsd, dissociative disorder) I can also recommend stimuli for your senses if it is really accute! Like cold cloths or muscle cream that gets got, certain smells etc. And definitely: walk it off! Mindful walking really is magical! Sometimes it feels like I am starting to float once the effect kicks in! Sending lots of hugs to all of you out there! You got this ❤🫂
