I was hit by that realization when I was complaining at one of our tours because of the seat I got on the bus. The tour guide unintentionally, snapped me out of it, when he said that many children go to school hungry and when they get back home they are also being fed poorly. Yeah.... my seat became very comfortable all of a sudden...
Agreed. If my safety or the safety of others is affected, I will say something, but other than that, a bad day aboard a ship is way better than a good day on land. I face planted within an hour of getting onboard an RCCL ship last week, with a half dozen crew members nearby. All rushed to my aid, and wanted to take me to the infirmary. I told them my only concern is that those of us with neurological and balance issues would not see the slope of the floor and others would also trip - please put up a sign to warn us. (Average age of our cruise was probably 50-60 years old, music charter). Next time by that area, there was a caution sign. Good job, RCCL!
Wow! You've either been very lucky, or are simply easy to please/hard to rattle. I've sailed on 37 cruises, and though I try to avoid going to guest services, there have been a few times when I've felt I had to. For example, if I've paid for a beverage package or am supposed to get an onboard credit, and they don't indicate that on my cruise card or TV account balance, then you'd better believe I'm waiting in line for that, LOL.
We had problems with our Princess app onboard. Customer service sent us to the ocean front desk where they sell the medallion accessories. There was a crew member who was an I.T. Specialist who fixed our app 😎
We had a problem with one of our shore excursions in Panama. We did 1/2 of it, saw sloths, butterflies etc but the tram broke down. NCL gave everyone a full refund and told us all while we were still on the cruise bus. This was great because no one had to run to guest services to complain!
I was unable to go to the east coast for my mother's birthday due to covid in her area so went on a cruise with a friend instead. I couldn't connect my call on her big day so went to GS for help. The wonderful young man picked up his phone, made the call and told me to talk as long as I wanted and to wish my mother a Happy 100th Birthday. This was on Caribbean Princess and the entire crew were awesome.
Went on a cruise on the Allure of the Seas 2 weeks ago and I went to Guest Services to ask about a discrepancy with our balance on the App vs on the TV screen in our room. Also, my husband put his hat down somewhere on the ship and couldn't remember where. He went to Guest Services to see if they had a lost and found and they do. He asked if anyone turned in a hat, and they did. He was able to retrieve his hat from from them. Each of our experiences with Guest Services was wonderful!
Hi ilana! I have a funny reason why I went to Guest Services. I went solo on a cruise to the Caribbean back in March and got a bad sunburn on my back (because I didn't have anyone to rub sunscreen on me! LOL). I bought some aloe lotion in the shop and it helped when I applied it to the burns, but I still couldn't reach my back. So I went to GS to ask if they had a suggestion on how I could get someone to do it for me. "Was the Medical office recommended?", I asked. "Actually, try the Spa instead," they suggested. Which I did, and lo and behold they were more than happy to get someone to do it for me! I gave the guy a generous tip and thanked the Spa people profusely, then I let GS know that their suggestion was spot on! (By the way, this was on the Regal Princess.)
One of favourite things to do when customer service isn’t busy is to just ask how their day is going. We usual get a shocked look followed by a big smile.
On our last cruise, my husband accidentally left his glasses on the private island. When he checked with guest services, they had them. We were surprised and so glad they had them!
On the last night of a cruise, I left a shopping bag on the floor filled with items I was carrying off. When I returned, itwasgone, After tracking down the cabin steward, he said he thought it was trash. But he had all the items. Including my jewelry, wrapped presents (now unwrapped), books, etc. I complained big time!
In certain ports it is a good idea to carry cash, so you can get a better price, haggle, avoiding the international fee charged to the shopper for the transaction, so exchange of money might come in hand.
Oh my goodness...I've been following you for months and making a list of items you've recommended. Tomorrow I'm getting on Amazon and ordering everything on my list. Our cruise is in September going to Alaska. I'm as excited as a little child on Christmas eve.
California Linda shares we disembarked from the Ruby a few days ago and it was an awesome breathtaking cruise, enjoy the planning and anticipation of your upcoming cruise. Following Illana's suggested must haves will make your trip more enjoyable. Be sure, if your budget allows, to make a specialty restaurant reservation as your embarkation dining option following sail away. As seasoned cruisers it's a tradition we have yet to regret and never disappointing. ⚓️
I have cruised many times before but not in the last five years. Her tips on the heavy duty magnet hooks, the magnetic clips, the packing CUBES, a small fan (Walmart with a clip) worked great on my cruise last weekend. On my next cruise I’m going to get the cell phone protector/lanyard, a laundry bag, and an organizer to hang on the door or something to take the shoes off the floor to keep from tripping on them LOL
Many years ago, I had medication that needed to be refrigerated and went to guest services to make arrangements since there was no refrigerator in our room
I try to avoid guest services, especially at peak times, because it can take a while. For some reason, many cruisers stand and take a while to get to all of their concerns, or even to chat. Generally, I try to resolve many issues before boarding because I don't mind waiting on hold for cruise line employees, but waiting on a line while onboard is detracting from the cruise itself. I really appreciate Anthony's comments about being thankful to be able to cruise, and be alive though.
Guest services is great place to exchange large denomination bills. So much easier than trying to carry around big wad of cash to be used as tips when going ashore for cab rides, excursions and bar tipping in ports. Also if you do find any discrepancies on your shipboard account during the cruise and come forward it’s so much more likely to be handled with positive outcome for you instead of waiting until last day to “challenge” something. A smile and a calm demeanor goes a long way. Always have had good experiences. Love your channel and enthusiasm.
I haven’t lost my cruise card but on my first ever cruise, we got locked out of our cabin (cards inside) when we took our bags out into the hall on the last night. Had to go down in our nighties to be let back in. Have also gone to guest services to book a ship tour on Princess
I only went to guest services a few times but they were always very helpful. Working with the public myself I can sympathize with them cause I think some ppl just like to complain for the sake of complaining. There was a group of guys that moaned about the size of the glasses in one of the speciality restaurants & losing one of the trivia quizzes that took place daily 🤣
I've gone to guest services to get on a wait list for 'sold out' on board activities. It has paid off more than once. I got to experience things that I would have missed if I hadn't asked to be on the wait list.
California Linda shares a great video 👍, I went to Guest Services repeatedly as a newer cruiser until I realized that placing the cruise card next to your cellphone can demagnetize it, and always pack your patience for unexpected changes in itinerary as safety is paramount for the cruise lines.
Our party was big and we were split between two staterooms. We weren't able to book connecting staterooms so I requested additional keys from guest services.
Changing money depends a lot on where you are cruising. In the Caribbean, there is no need. I have an international credit card, but in Croatia, the shops wouldn't take it or my USD....so we exchanged at Guest Services. I suspect that larger stores might have taken the card which I have used literally all over the world. Yeah, lost sunglasses that were left by the pool is a big one. For cruise cabin issues, check with your host first--they often have "backdoor" channels that can get it resolved or get you a new cabin more efficiently than using the front desk.
This is an odd one: I do embroidery while cruising. On my last cruise one of the ladies at the customer service would chat with me about it. Afterwards I would sometimes stop by if she wasn't busy and have a lovely conversation.
Sounds like a lot of these aren't complaints, just requests for help. It brings up a question, though: Would you go to Guest Services to get on the list for restricted access shows? How about booking a meal at one of the specialty restaurants?
We just got off a two week cruise to the Baltic Sea on Sky Princess. We only went to Guest Services once during the cruise. The tour guide on our excursion was obviously sick! She was coughing and sneezing throughout the excursion and on the bus. We just wanted them to know about it.
I spoke with people who had the gratitues removed. One person said while I was in line say they were having it removed because the workers make enough money. During the booking process I automatically add the gratuity along with explaining them to the client I tell them they can also give more at the end of their cruise. There's a big misconception regarding tipping; especially when first time cruises or those who book on line rather then using a travel agent.
I have never been on a cruise, however I do work front desk at a small town hotel. I have been asked all these things. I have changed bigger bills for smaller bills or quarters (for our Coke or Pepsi machines, laundry), Substitute sea conditions for road conditions and travel time to different cities, also add asking for extra (pillows, blankets, chairs, kid's pack and play, ect), Have not been asked for sea sickness meds, but I have been asked for pain reliever (Aspirin or Tylenol )
I go to guest services to flip the percentage from housekeeping and dining gratuities. Because I feel that the housekeepers work harder for their tips then the dining personnel. After all, they don't pick up wet towels and clean my tub.
Never lost card, did have charge issues, never lost anything, Princess always good on directions & schedules, ports as it happens, have removed charges, have had ac (hot room) problems.
What do you mean by "change money." Do they give you different denominations of bills. Like $5 bills for a $20. Or do you mean exchanging countries currencies. Like USA dollars for Euros. Or do you mean getting cash like an ATM with a cc/debit card? Sorry, first cruise in June and trying to figure out terminology.
On our cruise in April I called guest services to complain about the balcony cabin next to ours. The people were smoking pot. They sent the floor supervisor immediately to our cabin to speak with me. Then they went to the cabin nextdoor and informed them that smoking inside the cabin or in the balcony was a $500 fine per incident. The cabin nextdoor stopped smoking in the balcony and the cabin steward found the remnants of smoked joints inside their cabin the following day. The cabin passenger was given a $500 fine.
I go to Guest Services for my dining restrictions - I've got a gluten free/dairy free diet and I always let the dining staff and Guest Services both know. Guest Services has given me a very good recommendation on a gluten free bread option avaliable to ask about... made most meals and the afternoon tea much more enjoyable! I have gone at the beginning of my cruise...going immediately to Guest Services once aboard and waited in line. Next cruise, I didn't do this and told the dining staff at the first dinner - the first evening & dinner was all taken care of, with maybe even more kindess from my dining staff, and I went to Guest Services the next morning and asked about all the other food options. I'm doing this again for my next cruise. Guest Services has always been more than super friendly, helpful and kind in my situations...you're nice to them, they're nice to you! 😇 (*and with doing this, I have had NO issues with food-crossing/gluten/dairy...making the cruise so much better with no bellyaches!)
Absolutely! If you have dietary restrictions and allergies, Let Them Know, especially the dining staff. Makes things so much easier for those who are afflicted.
Yep, we went to guest services because of a lost sea pass, questions about a bill (correction) and to change a $100 bill to smaller bills, for tips and to ADD gratuities for the staff (they were amazing). Didn’t want to use the ATM.
Hi Ilana, on our November 2021 Celebrity Millennium cruise, Jill went twice to Guest Services regarding WiFi connectivity issues. They had her smartphone up and running in a short period of time. Compliments to Guest Services for all the junk they have to put up with. And with smiles behind their masks. Hi from Bob and Jill in Connecticut
My only visits. Double charged us for wine tasting. 2x. For maintain issues both times cabin Stewart 1st. Then. Guest did exchange. Dollars. For laundry coins
My wife and I are going to Alaska this June with Princess Cruises. We were just notified that our itinerary was changed due to environmental concerns over the ships speed. One port of call arrival time was altered, as well as another being cancelled entirely. We were refunded our excursion payments, but now have to rebook onboard as soon as they are reposted.
Ugghh I’ve been hearing about some changes. I’m sure they will have different excursions for you to book and things will work out, although frustrating
I have never lost a cruise card but my husband had a problem where they would stop working. After the second replacement I watched to see where he was putting his card when we got back to the cabin. I noticed he would put his cruise card on top of his iPad on the shelf below the TV. The iPad Pro has a bunch of magnets in its back. The magnets were erasing the card. Once I got him to put the card somewhere else, problem solved.
We were on the Crown Princess shake down cruise last week and the guest services line was very very long every day. The two main reasons were problems with toilets that clogged because people use too much paper etc and clog them. The pipes are smaller than at home and can clog easier. The biggest reason tho was changed ports because of engine problems (couldn’t run at full speed). So we missed a port and were late to some and some excursions were changed or canceled.
On last cruise had to visit guest services due to noticing after 3rd day they were billing me for gratuities which I had already prepaid. Was taken care of and received a follow up phone call in my cabin the following day.
These are things I've gone to guest services for: 1. Lost phone - fell out of pocket in theater; set it in bathroom so didn't fall out of pocket and left it; set it on a table next to me and someone walked over and picked it up and turned it in...that one wasn't my fault lol. 2. We always break large bills, as they are easier to carry on to the ship, and then get change for them at end of cruise for tips. 3. Not lost cards and medallions, but when cards stopped working due to me putting them near phone and now when medallions need batteries. 4. Incorrect charges on folio. They always fix happily. That's about it. We've had issues in the room, but we just tell steward and they take care of it.
I only had to go to guests services once in ten cruises. Sunscreen caused my sea pass to completely erase! GS were great…printed me a new card in a matter of minutes. Our travel mates went to explain that their account was credited for the full amount of their prepaid drink packages..although they were using the package. GS were a little confused but happily charged the drink package back to their account 🤣
They are now leaving sea passes outside of the cabin on the first day. Our cabin was opened and our sea passes were no where to be found when we first got to our cabin. I wonder if they might rethink this way of issuing people their sea passes.
The comedian at the end of our 14 night transatlantic cruise went to Guest Services for some material at the end of the cruise. The one that had me going was the question if we were going to have an excursion before we got to our first port of Spain. This seemed funny because where would we have stopped in the middle of the ocean to get off for an excursion. I think they might have meant perhaps the port for which we skipped (Nasseau Bahamas) would it be replaced with another port. That isn't how it sounded unless you really thought what they could have meant. Simeon Kirkilies might have been videoed and put on youtube if anyone one is interested. He said these in such a hilarious fashion.
I can't remember which cruise I was on now, but I had to keep.getting a new cruise card, because it wouldn't open my door. It was very stressful and they.couldnt find out what was wrong.
On my last cruise I went to Guest Services several times. First, I couldn't get the Carnival Hub to work on the ship. It had worked on land. The gentleman on duty got it working for me. Next, I reported a small maintenance issue so it could be fixed before it became a large maintenance issue. I emphasized that I was not angry and that it was not an immediate problem. Last, I reported that my metal door decoration was missing the last morning. (I attached it using several small magnets.) Guest Services couldn't really help me.
January, 2020…Princess. Had a Medallion tech problem. Staff was amazing: kind, professional, patient and displayed a sense of urgency. I truly wish those that berate staff become shark food. 2012, on Norwegian. Had an issue with OBC balance. Corporate issue. Staff wasn’t particularly helpful (out of their hands), but professional and respectful.
On one family cruise (group of 21), we all had to go to guest services after boarding to juggle our cabin assignments. My dad had a stroke after final payment and needed a handicap cabin. Fortunately they still had one available, so we booked it for him and Mom. Our group had more kids than adults, so a nephew had been originally assigned to my parents' cabin. When we booked the HC cabin, it would have left my nephew without an adult - not allowed. We ended up shifting everyone around, but couldn't make the changes until we boarded. As I recall, out of 7 cabins, only two weren't changed. Before we left, I figured out the most efficient order to make changes and put it a spreadsheet for the CS agent.
On my first cruise (Baltic Capitals), I went to the customer service desk when I rejoined the cruise after missing a few days. I had broken my ankle on an excursion and had to stay behind in the hospital while the cruise went on without me. After a few days in the hospital, I was able to catch a ferry to another port and reboard. It was good that the excursion had been through the cruise line, because the guide was able to stay in contact with the ship and help me get to the ferry after I checked out of the hospital.
I don’t remember if you said maybe go to guest services for a print out of your tab. I haven’t been since the new apps have the tab on it, but I remember going to ask about some charges to my room, which they were me. Things add up!
I’ve been cruising for almost 25 years and I’ve never once complained about anything. What’s there to complain about on a cruise??!! Maybe I’m just not fussy…..? 🌺
I do too. I only tip where necessary, especially when I already spend a fortune to get on the cruise and they already add on 18% extra for just about everything you purchase.
Go to your local dollar store and get some lanyards that are very fancy made you can also go to the five dollar below store and get some really cute ones that have some colorful bling on them. They also sell them at the gift shops on the cruise anywhere from five to $15. Cheaper to get them offshore though
I much prefer "looking dorky" to losing stuff. I have a multi pocketed hip belt that I call my "super-hero utility belt". It's especially handy at festivals!
I was reluctant to use a lanyard, felt like I was at work, but I did use one on my last cruise and I appreciated not fumbling around for it. I did find a lanyard that I could unbuckle the card from the lanyard so it could be swiped, and I didn’t have to take it off my neck each time they used it.
The freaking elevator! you have about 10 elevators for a seven thousand person cruise ship. Only two or three are working. Either it is going up when you want to go down or going down when you want to go up. And they are most almost always full so you have to wait for the next one, THAT IS FULL AS WELL!
1. Did not ever lose cruise card but went to guest services cause my cards did not work…pre medallion days😊 3. Oh yes i just went to guests services over a bill…got it corrected 4 i always go to break down big bills for extra tips and envelope 8. my last cruise the toilet flooded for no reason at all and someone threw up on the side of the stairs so i went to guest services for that😩. I think these are reasonable things to go to guest services Unreasonable: remember Illana i had a lot of pre cruise trouble with my app, did not want anything extra because of this, but one man was trying his hardest to get an upgrade because of it..😂😂😂 ha ha don’t hold your breath. Thx Illana for the discussion
Never exchange money onboard. Always get a better rate going through our bank and can return unused money at similar exchange rate However, we were recently transatlantic from Fort Lauderdale to Spain with no internet. Guest services did all they could to contact my cousin in Spain with whom we had indefinite plans to meet!
On our Princess Baltic cruise a couple of years back I had to go to guest services to request the Cruise Log. The service I received was Excellent. Now it looks like Princess has stopped publishing the log on longer cruises.😭
In 16 years of cruising, I’ve only gone to guest services twice. Once for Dramamine and once when I had lost my camera. Sure enough, someone turned it in
I don't know how but somehow I start watching you on RUclips.. and now I'm hooked.. I want to book a cruise to the Caribbeans.. I also want to use a travel agent.. but how does that work.. I would need the book round trips to Miami from California.. going in one day early so I would need a room in a hotel.. and of course booking the cruise.. So who do I pay ? The travel agent takes all the money.. or do they set it up so I pay everybody individually.. I'm just afraid of getting scammed.. love all your videos cannot stop watching them.. thanks in advance
Thanks so much! I have a video that will be helpful to know how to find a TA that you gel with as well as what questions to ask, costs (if it’s a free service) etc. Hope this helps ruclips.net/video/QkriwxAYIf8/видео.html
I am a travel agent. I do not take money! I can however apply payments to your cruise line. There is an authorization form to fill out before I note down your credit card info. Shredded immediately after by the way. Or I can just open up your booking while talking to you on speaker and I input the info directly. It shows up nowhere visible to me and is out of my brain the moment I am done.
We wander and eat outside of the tourist area and having local currency makes it easier and locals offer additional services many times. Changing currency on the ship works for us.
My first cruise, I kept putting my card too near my phone and it wouldn't work. I also went to get change for bigger bills ( go to the casino instead), and I was double charged by spa for a manicure. While getting my bill fixed, I complained that the, using in one of the venues was so loud, it was not enjoyable.
It always surprises me when people remove tips. They feel all that excellent service they receive should be free. They don’t have a clue about how hard those people work and how nice and helpful they have to be18 hours a day. Besides the daily tips we alway tip people for the service they give. Usually about $150 per cruise.
One of the other commenters said that they prefer to give the tip directly to the steward. I believe the charged tips are pooled and shared, but could be wrong on that.
I'm doing #9 on my first cruise bc I have yet to find a explanation on how tips are distributed. I even read another comment stating you'll be charge gratuities for main dining, even if you didn't eat there? I will tip for my group in cash. Didn't know this was controversial.
On my last cruise to Alaska, it seemed like all Guest Services did was hand out sea sickness medication. It was a rough couple of days getting up there. Lol.
I ask guest services to break large bills for onboard tips and during port call to haggle with vendors. **Never pull out your wallet and always carry smaller bills when making purchases in port.**
Have a question for you and your subscribers. We are going to Alaska on the Majestic Princess in July. I’m wondering if anyone has seen sugar-free pancake syrup on-board? I’m wondering if I need to pack my own. I live in Vancouver so it’s no problem to bring it along. Thanks for your help!!
Personally, I would contact the cruise line to see if it’s available. I would also inquire if you are allowed to bring it with you (likely you are, but just in case).

We try to avoid complaining because we realize how fortunate we are to be alive and be able to go on a cruise ship. Give thanks every day 🙏
Great perspective

Amen to that!
I lost an earring it was a very special in your room and I went to guest services and they had that someone did turn it in I was so happy
I am a Carnival cruiser. And yes I had gratuities taken off, because they added the captains dinner which we never attended.
After watching your video, I can happily say, I never had to visit guest services for any reason with 30+ cruises. I guess I am an easy passenger. lol

@@calcham1 I guess I have been lucky. I think I only went to guest services once in 1979. I certainly would if there was any issues you mention.
We had problems with our Princess app onboard. Customer service sent us to the ocean front desk where they sell the medallion accessories. There was a crew member who was an I.T. Specialist who fixed our app 😎
I go for the free ship postcards and to hand in the forms for staff who have made my cruise memorable
Love this
We had a problem with one of our shore excursions in Panama. We did 1/2 of it, saw sloths, butterflies etc but the tram broke down. NCL gave everyone a full refund and told us all while we were still on the cruise bus. This was great because no one had to run to guest services to complain!
This is great to hear. Good customer service

I can't love this enough. We need more people like you. 😊
I work in Guest Services, this was fun to watch.
On our last cruise, my husband accidentally left his glasses on the private island. When he checked with guest services, they had them. We were surprised and so glad they had them!
Wow, amazing how many people actually return things. Nice to know
I have used Guest Services to change money. And add specialty items like excursions. Thanks.
Iv'e always wondered why "GUEST SERVICES" was always packed!!!! 😇I NEED TO LEARN THE HUSTLE.
On the last night of a cruise, I left a shopping bag on the floor filled with items I was carrying off. In certain ports it is a good idea to carry cash, so you can get a better price, haggle, avoiding the international fee charged to the shopper for the transaction, so exchange of money might come in hand.
We had an excursion cancelled....we went to guest services.
I love your insights
I’ve complained every time the cabin next to me had people smoking on the balcony. The last 2 cruises we didn’t experiment this - thank goodness.
Oh my goodness...I've been following you for months and making a list of items you've recommended. Tomorrow I'm getting on Amazon and ordering everything on my list. Our cruise is in September going to Alaska. I'm as excited as a little child on Christmas eve.

Good to hear how they managed it

Also if you do find any discrepancies on your shipboard account during the cruise and come forward it’s so much more likely to be handled with positive outcome for you instead of waiting until last day to “challenge” something. A smile and a calm demeanor goes a long way. Always have had good experiences. Love your channel and enthusiasm.
I’m so glad you mentioned this. I was wondering about it and of course it absolutely makes sense 👌. Thanks for your kind words :)
Haha those are funny complaints to hear 😂
I've gone to guest services to get on a wait list for 'sold out' on board activities.
It has paid off more than once. I got to experience things that I would have missed if I hadn't asked to be on the wait list.
That’s a great one!
California Linda shares a great video 👍, I went to Guest Services repeatedly as a newer cruiser until I realized that placing the cruise card next to your cellphone can demagnetize it, and always pack your patience for unexpected changes in itinerary as safety is paramount for the cruise lines.
Haha that’s true
I think you covered all I could think of and more!! Thanks for sharing 😎⛵️⛵️⛵️
This is an odd one: I do embroidery while cruising. On my last cruise one of the ladies at the customer service would chat with me about it. Afterwards I would sometimes stop by if she wasn't busy and have a lovely conversation.
Haha love it!! You never know who you’ll meet on a cruise and what you’ll have in common
Our door wouldn't open on Princess. Our medallion was fine but battery in the door needed replaced.
Oh my!
I go to GS to get tipping envelopes to thank my great crew members.
We’ve gone to guest services to change big rocks in to small rocks. Changing a $100 in to $10s and $20s. Small tips can go a long way.
True not everyone understands or is informed of this
I have never been on a cruise, however I do work front desk at a small town hotel.
This is great!! Thanks so much for sharing
Typically when folks say change money they are converting from one country’s currency to another.
Wow!!! Thanks for sharing this 😬
On my last cruise (I've only been on 2) we skipped a port because of rough Seas. Each passenger was refunded $17.00.
(*and with doing this, I have had NO issues with food-crossing/gluten/dairy...making the cruise so much better with no bellyaches!)
I've lost my sea card a couple of times before the ship even left port. Most likely I didn't pick it up in a restaurant or in a bar.
Question: what is your take on the automatic gratuities vs offering tips one on one?
I didn't lose my cruise but the magnets on my small purse neutralized all the info on the xars.
Oh yes this can definitely happen :)
Wow. That’s too bad, I hope you had a good cruise anyway
On last cruise had to visit guest services due to noticing after 3rd day they were billing me for gratuities which I had already prepaid. Was taken care of and received a follow up phone call in my cabin the following day.
Good find!
These are things I've gone to guest services for:
Lol 😂
He said these in such a hilarious fashion.
when we go on shore we will get 10's 5's and 1's for the markets so they do not have to make change.
I have never been to guest services. Have been on at least 10 cruises. No complaints.
Thanks for sharing
Only been to guest services to purchase Vibe Club passes - Only aboard NCL. I’m on vacation and don’t get ruffled about anything.
Yes absolutely
I’ve been cruising for almost 25 years and I’ve never once complained about anything. What’s there to complain about on a cruise??!! Maybe I’m just not fussy…..? 🌺
Cancelled ports for non safety issues.
I almost never remove tips, however, my last cruise was abysmal. I removed tips but gave cash tips to those who have good service.
how did you remove the tips from your bill
@@ericrezk2714 you go to or call guest services and ask them to be removed. As I said I have never done it until this past cruise.
I do too. I only tip where necessary, especially when I already spend a fortune to get on the cruise and they already add on 18% extra for just about everything you purchase.
I had to go to guest services to make a maintenance request for a shower that wasn't draining.
Leaving June 5th for first cruise. You answered my question about lanyards. I’m glad to know you use them. I was wondering if we would look dorky.
Go to your local dollar store and get some lanyards that are very fancy made you can also go to the five dollar below store and get some really cute ones that have some colorful bling on them. They also sell them at the gift shops on the cruise anywhere from five to $15. Cheaper to get them offshore though
I have one from Lilly Pulitzer that is really cute and perfect for cruise vacations.
Almost every cruiser wears them.
Great video 🌼🌻🌼🌻
Thanks Linda :)
@@LifeWellCruised 🤗🤗🌼🌻🌹
You can ask guest services for playing cards, needle and threads, etc.
On my Gem cruise on March 30th, one port was eliminated, guest services told us we would get our port charges credited, did not receive yet.
Oh too bad, was it as an OBC maybe?
1. Did not ever lose cruise card but went to guest services cause my cards did not work…pre medallion days😊
3. Oh yes i just went to guests services over a bill…got it corrected
4 i always go to break down big bills for extra tips and envelope
8. my last cruise the toilet flooded for no reason at all and someone threw up on the side of the stairs so i went to guest services for that😩. I think these are reasonable things to go to guest services
Unreasonable: remember Illana i had a lot of pre cruise trouble with my app, did not want anything extra because of this, but one man was trying his hardest to get an upgrade because of it..😂😂😂 ha ha don’t hold your breath. Thx Illana for the discussion
Requesting a different debarkation time
Good one!!
We have gone to guest services to reserve seats for a show because I am legally blind and need to be close so I can see at least some of the show. 😎😎😎
Oh yes. Out of curiosity, can you have this noted on your booking so that they can accommodate you at every show (to save you time)?
@@LifeWellCruised That’s a good question I should ask my PVP. If anyone can make it happen Linda can. 😎😎😎
We had to use guest services to find our daughters teddy bear that ended up in the bed linen laundry. Tears but success!
Awe so glad you got it back
We lost our sea pass on our last voyage. It happens.
I forgot my clothing items on carnival Liberty and even after filling out form they did not respond me
On our Princess Baltic cruise a couple of years back I had to go to guest services to request the Cruise Log. The service I received was Excellent. Now it looks like Princess has stopped publishing the log on longer cruises.😭
In 16 years of cruising, I’ve only gone to guest services twice. Once for Dramamine and once when I had lost my camera. Sure enough, someone turned it in
Wow!!! Nice to hear
Yes, I lost my room key before we even got out of port...who does that..😯
😂 many of us 😬
I don't know how but somehow I start watching you on RUclips.. and now I'm hooked..
My onboard credit was not applied to my account. They fixed it.
Great list!
The temperature in a cabin (too cold or too hot) and to see what time it is, before leaving the ship.
So true!!
Ok how do i shoot for an upgrade?
I went to guest services so I can get stanps to send postcards!
Great idea
I'm doing #9 on my first cruise bc I have yet to find a explanation on how tips are distributed. I even read another comment stating you'll be charge gratuities for main dining, even if you didn't eat there? I will tip for my group in cash. Didn't know this was controversial.
It’s because the tips get spread around and waiters who work in the buffet will also work at different times in the MDR. Up to you of course
On my last cruise to Alaska, it seemed like all Guest Services did was hand out sea sickness medication. It was a rough couple of days getting up there. Lol.
Oh my!! Lol
I ask guest services to break large bills for onboard tips and during port call to haggle with vendors. **Never pull out your wallet and always carry smaller bills when making purchases in port.**
I had severe noise during the middle of the night. Nothing could be done. The guests obviously had too much to drink.
