      They do love it for sure. I don’t know that I’ve ever fished with anything better for channel catfish. And yes it does stink. Every time my wife walks by the barn she says she smells something dead 😂

      I learned that trick many moons ago. I can fish in any wind with that setup. Just don’t want to get it under any roots lol

      PS, after watching video I dug out my Uncle Buck's collapsible pole (exactly the same) I used to catch hybrid bluegills in neighbor's tank before 2011 drought dried it all up. Could get out past the weed line with it. I'm going to give this a try on my local lake if it ever stops raining.....

      @@rickneyhard7795 hey Rick thanks for the comment. If you put one in front of the other the back one will dig down into the bottom better. It’s the same concept as using a heavy chain but the chain probably gets hung up less lol

      @@CATCHAHAWGoh yea tomatoe sauce based gravy. You can make it as mild or pepper as u want it. The key is the let it cook long time. 4,hours before adding fish. Will look you up tho, thanks for the video!

      Hey Bob thanks for the comment. Basically you need access to a bunch of old cheese and some cattails. A little bit of time to let everything rot and ferment. There’s a few other ingredients that I use but I’m not ready to disclose those just yet. Lol I’m trying to figure out how to make it in large quantities. Everyone that has used it can believe how well it works.

    Oh my goodness this brought back great memories. A group of 6 of us in two boats would fish Choke Canyon Res one weekend in February for about 10 years in a row using stink bait like that on a little treble hook with the same small split shot sinker. We'd clean about 200 catfish that weekend, come back home and do a April fish fry for the 6 families. Absolutely the best times! Thanks for your content!

Lol we used bills cheese and rays pure chicken blood with a porcupine quill as a float. Very good memories. I’m headed down to choke canyon in June to do some bass fishing. Looks like it’s only 30 % full

      Thanks Desull. If you can reach 2 to 3ft of water it should work fine. If there’s deeper water close by that’s even better. Fishing it along riprap also works great. Let me know how it goes 👍

      Hey Jeffrey, I think 20 lbs is the biggest I’ve personally landed. I have however caught a bunch in the 10 to 15 lb range.

      @@jeffreylankford6240 unfortunately this is my personal recipe however there are some cheese baits out there that work well. They work good in shallow water until the weather gets really hot. Then you can move to 20 to 25 ft and really smack them.

    What kind of cheeze you useing, would love to catch a few like that . Some people dont like channel cats but when you 70 you dont get to be real choosey. I have two of those rods from the late 70's caught many a bluegill on crickets an a few cats also.
