The second and third movies were okay, but the first movie was one of the most magical cinema experiences I’ve had in my life. Even hearing the themes causes something inside me just to light up with wonder and passion and courage.

@@Hugo-cn9noThere is not the best and the worst movie of the saga. Every single movie is like the chapter of the story. All of them are epic on their own, but only together they make sense.
I don't care about the critics, I loved the hobbit. It's a shame they overused Cgi, but oh well, in the end they are still very good movies.
Fans are better than critics IMO. There are always be those that will love/hate a movie or film. Fans are the blue collars of cinema.

You can love what you love. But the movies are mediocre at best. Especially compared to it´s predecessor. It has the $30 000 000 shine and production values, but half these moviies make me cringe or are redundant. It´s a 300 page YA novel spread out over 3, 3.5 hour movies. And it shows.

This song is hopeful, when they see the mountain in the distance and in the background they put this song I got goosebumps.

Start of this video with the calm theme of lonely mountain makes me feel so sad. Just like the dwarves felt, when they realised, their race is no more in the golden eras, Khazad Dum became Moria, Dragon sleeps in the golden hall of Erebor... But yet there is hope, hope for these sons of Mahal, that they will rise again and their folk will once again be everywhere in middle-earth. And these big acts will be done, Dragon will die, Fire and darkness will be cleaned from Khazad Dum, the biggest house of Dwarves, Gimli will even found a new kingdom in the Glittering caves of Helms deep... The folk of stone will raise again, gold will form rivers, mithril will be on armour again, sons of Durin will rise!

The dwarves are being treated unfairly, I read that the dwarves wait in Khazad-Dûm until the end of the arda

It's a bit sad and depressing but that's what makes this story good, it's not all happy endings but it's not all doom and gloom either.

Yes!! I am ready cannot wait to take my first step in the middle earth
I try not to watch or to listen(the songs) too much of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, I only watch it when the weather is very cold, it's snowing(a lot) and I have good food and/or healthy snacks to last... and I get a nice fire goin while sitting in the dark with lot of pillows and my favorite blanket. I think that's the reason why I never get tired of it because I only watch the movies when the weather is bad. 🤗☺

Erebor, strongold of thror king under the mountain, mightiest of the dwarf lords. thror ruled with utter surety never doubting his house would endure for his line lay secure in the lives of his son, and grandson. ah frodo erebor built deep within the mountain itself the beauty of this fortress city was legend.its wealth lay in the earth in precious gems hewn from rock and in great seems of gold running like rivers through stone. the skill of the dwarves was unequalled fashioning objects of great beauty from diamond emerald ruby and sapphire ever they delved deeper down into darkness and that is where they found it... the heart of the mountain the arkenstone. thror named it the kings jewel he took it as a sign, a sign that his right to rule was divine.all would pay homage to him even the great elven king, thranduil. as the great wealth of the dwarves grew, their store of goodwill ran thin. it is sad frodo how old alliances can be broken how friendships between peoples can be lost, and for what.slowly the days turned sour and the watchful nights closed in thrors love of gold had grown to fierce. a sickness had begun to grow within him, it was a sickness of the mind, and where sickness thrives... bad things will follow. the first they heard was a sound like a hurricane coming down from the north the pines on the mountain creaked and crackedin the hot dry wind "balin sound the alarm" "call out the guard" "do it now!" "dragon" "DRAGON!!!!!" he was a fire drake from the north. smaug had come. such won-ton death was dealt that day for this city of men was nothing to smaug. his eye was set on another prize. for dragons covert gold with a dark and fierce desire. "stand fast" "(thror losing the arkenstone) NO!" erebor was lost, for a dragon will guard his plunder has long as he lives "run for your lives!!" "here!" "HELP US!!!" thranduil would not list the lives of his kin against the wrath of the dragon, no help came from the elves that day. or any days hence, robbed of their homeland the dwarves of erebor wandered the wilderness a once mighty people brought low, the young dwarf prince took work where he could find it labouring in the villages of men. But always he remembered, the mountain smoke beneath the moon the trees like torches blazing bright for he had seen dragon fire in the skies and a city turned to ash. and he never forgave and he never forgot. hows that for memory?

In my Opinion the best 3 movies with a emotional story i cry in this scene where the dwarfs saw the Erebor first Time after they lose them, at thorins death scene and a last time i saw Thorin arrived at Bilbo baggins House 😢 so sad this Theme

It's incredibly similar to the "Dwarves" and "Dwarf-home" themes from Fellowship of the Ring... I never noticed this before
I wish I could rewatch this for the first time. From seeing Erebor from the Carrack, to The Cliffhanger at the end of TDOS. It’s a masterpiece, and I wish I could relive it, one last time.
Want to see a movie of the dwarfs rebuilding Erebor...
you know, actually some sort of story about what dwarves did after The Hobbit would have quite some good times, although I'm reluctant to want them try it, after they somewhat fucked up The Hobbit, while not a total fuck up, but many times from the movies were a real nope, and it pretty much got saved by dwarves being dwarves.
First we'd have the start -rebuilding Erebor-, and the failed expedition to Moria, I bet my ass I'd cry on that, if filmed.
Second we'd have orcs invading the Iron Hills again, with the emmissaries of Mordor asking for information about certain Baggins.
And while men fought at Helm's Deep, Osigiliath, Minas Tirith and the Black Gates, dwarves were also fighting, against a massive invasion of men of the East,and other servants of Sauron at the gates of Erebor and Dale.
We coul even have an epilogue with the actions of Gimli after the defeat of Sauron, aka, trasnforming the caves on Helms Deep into a new dwarf settlement, and retaking Moria with the help of elves and humans.
In the books they actually mentiond that the dwarves rebuilt their homes and got themselves a new king. (I think the one riding on that pig like creature in the movie.)

In the books, Erebor was rebuilt and ruled by Dain II Ironfoot. 5 Years after Balin's expedition on Moria (which is failed) a messenger from Mordor asked for "Shire and Baggins". Dain did not gave answers but send Gloin and Gimli to Elrond's Council to tell what's going on in Erebor (Bilbo asks for the company if you want to know) After the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, a big army from Dol-Guldur, led by Khamul the Easterling, most powerful Nazgul after the Witch-King, attacked Lothlorien three times and attacked Mirkwood (Battle Under the Trees) Lorien could not be invaded and all of the three attacks were a failure, trees in Mirkwood were burnt by the host of Dol-Guldur but they failed because a massive army from Rhun was blocked by the forces of Iron Hills, Dale and Erebor. The Battle was named Battle of Dale and it was the second great war in the Third Age (First great war was the Battle of Pelennor Fields). King Dain and King Brand of Dale (grandson of Bard the Bowman) were slain at the gates of Erebor and dwarves pulled back to Erebor. After Sauron was defeated, Easterling army retreated. Thorin III Stonehelm (Son of Dain II) led the dwarves and attacked the Easterlings and the battle was won. After then, we don't know what happened to Erebor.

Maybe it is just the story about reclaiming home, maybe it is the whole relationship between the squad members (which was amazingly portrayed in film), maybe it is sense of Bilbo's adventure, but there is just something about it that takes special place in many hearts. I wish the tactical situation of the dwarves of middle earth was more similar to those of total war warhammer, a vast but shattered realm waiting to be taken back, rather then a few strongholds.
There are many Dwarf realms and all of them are quite big so I'm not sure what you mean.
Whole North of middle Earth + Misty mountains pretty much belongs to Dwarfs. Also Dwarfs were common on Rhunic lands.
Also Dwarfs actually settled in caves of helms deep soon after fall of Mordor :D

Overall, I think LOTR is a better trilogy because it had a lot more time for pre-production and it shows (I do enjoy the Hobbit trilogy by the way). However, when it comes to the soundtracks, I think I prefer the Hobbit's soundtrack over LOTR. I just really enjoy the Erebor theme and the Journey theme from the 1st movie more than any theme from LOTR.
