Sven Nero those ridiculous high harmonies are in the original mix. You just have to listen for them really hard. I didn't know they were there until I heard just the vocal tracks by themselves.

If it sounds good with everything else in the song, then who cares how it sounds on it's own ya know? as long as the song sounds cohesive (and it damn well does) then any recording/mixing/mastering technique is all fair game
