@@liquidladdyIt's from an Ace Attorney picture book that come with a disk that plays AA1 music. That book contain an exclusive art and composer's comment regarding all of AA1 music he composed. That's where the fact came from.
Alright, so, fun story. When I started playing Ace Attorney, my house was undergoing floor renovation, and as such we spent the entirety of that year's winter break, all of january, and half of february just moving stuff in an out of the house. As such, I usually only had the time to play with my DS very late at night and in the early hours of the morning. My bed was also moved a bunch of times, usually to empty and somewhat echo-ey rooms, which resulted in the faint sound of the console at very low sound volumes (in order to not wake up anyone) resonating within the walls of the house, like water drips in a cave. I believe that one particular night I got stuck in one of the Silver Samurai case investigations, and because of the few NPCs from that day and the ambientation of the studio where the murder happened (desolate, with everyone on break), with this song being the only one that played (when you met the oldbag), I eventually spent either some minutes or a couple of hours just listening to this song over and over again. Because of that I usually associate this song with the feeling of being in an empty place, alone, in the dark, but happy. Good times. Good times indeed. Nostalgia is a hell of a feel.
Thanks for sharing, saw this about a year ago and never got around to replying. Your story resonated with me so much so that I now always think of fresh paint, empty rooms and your story when I hear this song.
This song always reminds me of two things: Examining different things around the office during Turnabout Sisters and Looking around Gourd Lake, desperately hoping to find Gumshoe.
Weird. When I actually played the game, this song was completely unremarkable to me, but now that I'm actually listening to it I realize it's actually quite good.
My brother always played the WiiWare Versions of Ace Attorney, . He would always sit idol on certain screens after beating the many times . This music hits me with heavy pain/nostalgia for my brother that I had a falling out with,., ..i miss Ya man!!
Did you guys make up? When I was a kid, I had two friends that fell out. They were super close. Like brothers. I'll just call them G and C. They let a girl come between them. They went from hanging out almost daily to not talking to each other. It went on for a year. G sustained a horrific injury at work. Was damn cut in half by a train. C rushed to the hospital to be with him. By the time C got there, G died on the operating table. The way it was told me, C was crying hysterically in the waiting room. That he kept yelling "Why was I so stubborn!?" So, now he's stuck with no resolution. It still hurts him. I can tell. After seeing that, I force myself to resolve any issues at least within a few days. So, yeah....
