  • The Kona N is all-new for 2022, and this fun-to-drive subcompact SUV from Hyundai doesn't disappoint. Similar to the Elantra N, the Kona N is also producing 276hp with 289trq., but when you activate N-Grin Shift Overboost, you receive an additional 10hp for 20seconds.
The Hyundai Kona N is only available in front-wheel-drive and only in automatic.

I bought a 23’ Kona N with the racing red exterior and this little hot hatch/suv is so much fun to drive.

Hello Juliana. A spectacular model! The whole car looks great. Beautiful combination of colors, but also the rear spoiler.I also appreciate the interior space and I am sure that the access to the interior is very good.Sporty model in which I see a good ergonomics of the dashboard. The steering wheel is superb! All the best Juliana👍👍👍

Great presentation skills. You’re a natural. Great eye contact and personality.
    I like your perspective.
However for this car I’d like for you to try some aggressive cornering. Also it’s essential I feel for you to check out its behavior through wet road corners especially as it is putting 300 bhp through just those front wheels.

Thanks Peter! Unfortunately it didn't rain in Florida the week I had the Kona N, but I can tell u when accelerating through a corner a bit more aggressively, it does have understeer, which is common in FWD vehicles, but it's manageable. Thanks for watching. Juliana

I would buy a Kona N in a heartbeat, but unfortunately the US spec is the bottom of the barrel. No heated steering wheel, vented seats, less colors, plus a lot of other things, all standard in other markets around the globe. Super disappointing because I really love the car otherwise.

Those LED reflector headlights aren't that great and not retrofit friendly. I'm going to have to buy the halogen projector headlights for the lower trim to retrofit a good LED projector.

The first thing you buy is the complete spare tire setup.

You are 100% right it's down riggt criminal that The Australian version of the car gets a spare but everywhere else does not. However the Hyundai spare setup is like $800. Looking at equivalent spares that will fit at the junkyards. In fact I think I might to the research and create a database on what spares will work.

    I just got my wife a 2023 Kona N.
    She loves it!
Get compliments everyday from guys lol.
Great idea about the towel to wipe the screens. But that will leave micro scratches and one day a big piece of sand or dirt with scratch the screen really bad. I got a screen protector for both the cluster and Infotainment screens. They are glass and have a Ani fingerprint coating. Works so good!
I don't ever have to wipe it. And it makes the sliding even more smooth cause it's glass.
Good investment for any Infotainment screen these days.
I do it to all my cars.

Great review on the car. I really like how you made it crystal clear that the "N-line" model is just an appearance package only. I think I can speak for most "N" owners that this was a huge mistake on Hyundai's part that confuses customers and even dealers alike.
It's like selling a base civic that looks vaguely like a Type-R and calling it a "Type-R line"
Hyundai "N" is the equivalent to a Type-R. And there should be zero confusion here and I think it hurts sales along with once again North American market manufacturer division flunking on the marketing.
Regardless of the marketing the car is absolutley brilliant.
I have bad roads in my neighborhood. But once I leave my community and get to groove pavement it's on. This is the reason why this car was built. It's FAST! It seems high in the air but it was designed like this. Once you get in the car and drive you feel at home in a sports car and even feel low in the seats but have all this extra visability.
There is no other way to get an exotic Ferrari/Lamborghini type dual clutch experience for $35k that is 100% legit! The car does 13.90s stock with tons of tuning potential.
