On the Slate Trail at Blaenau Ffestiniog - Explore Abandoned Cwmorthin, Conglog & Rhosydd Quarries

We’re back on the Slate Trail in Blanaeu Ffestiniog, exploring the history of these three quarries on the northern edge of town. From Tanygrisiau, we head up the track to Cwmorthin to take a look at the remains of Cwmorthin Quarry. Our walk then takes us further up the valley to see Conglog Quarry and its infrastructure, before heading up to finish the day at Rhosydd Quarry. Learn about the history of slate mining and life in these three quarries, from housing, to religion, to the changing fortunes of the slate industry. 🌳🌊⛰️⛅
