I want to thank Andrew for taking the time and showing me the MIDI Goblin. If you are interested you can pre order the Midi Goblin here: midi-goblin-www-kickstarter-com.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders/668392
ah thanks man! Was a great hang. Worth noting for everyone - the replay wasnt dumping all of its parameters(seems like it doesnt dump values that are zero) - so those initial patches we're quite correct. The values received were indeed being saved, but it wasnt all the values - Wiggling the sliders and pots of the replay prior to saving the first patch is always best practice - alternatively, you can use goblins midi controller app to send midi number 20 with a value of 127 (this a a unique quirk of the replay that forces it to dump all of its parameter values) ...or you can simply load any previously saved patch to sync up the replay and goblin's parameter values. also running the arp and sequencer at the same time - there was a note hanging bug for anyone that could hear it- also fixed (turns out it needed a 10 micro second delay between the note on messages..weird fix, but it worked!) other than that, freakin amazing little synth
@@luisbarrera5740 it can! all of the apps (patches, arpeggiator, autochord, arp-note, sequencer, midi cc lfo, patch morph, remap and controller ) can be assigned to individual midi channels. You cant really load patches for multiple synths at the same time, but its possible to do it individually (you just need to drag your saved patch files into the same folder, send one to one synth, change the channel, send the other to the other synth)..you just need a routing device or a synth that can pass midi messages thru to channels other than itself(chain em up)
@@luisbarrera5740 Oops i thought I responded to this already but i must've forgot to hit the reply button - sorry bout the delay. Yes! You can set each of the midi goblins apps to individual midi channels. You can change the midi channels through the settings menu, and your settings can be saved and will automatically load when you start up the goblin. Each synth you add to the goblin gets their own unique settings file so you can have some wiggle room with configurations n such.
@@midigoblin that's really cool. So how would I connect two synths into the midi goblin? I have a minilogue XD module with Keystep37 and a Bass Station 2. I use a quadra thru to run a Toraiz SP-16 as the master clock. Would I need any peripherals?
@@luisbarrera5740 I dont personally own a quadra thru but I've heard theyre quite reliable bits of hardware. Connect the midi goblins output to the quadras input. Set up the quadra to output to each of your synths respective channels, set the output channels for the apps in midi goblins settings and thats pretty much it. From there your quadra should start firing out the messages to each channel the goblin is transmitting on Midi Goblin listens on all channels but only differentiates between CC messages and Note messages when it comes to routing. It wasnt really designed to have multiple things connected to its input, but in theory, you cold use a midi merge, connect a controller for note messages and a synth for cc messages and midi goblin will not care one bit what channel theyre received from, and it will be able to transmit the notes or cc messages on channels you specify as well. Bit of a limitation but still...kinda cool and possibly useful. A midi clock thru channel could be useful as well..I may have to add that down the road. but for now, it cannot transmit midi clock messages, only receive them.
odd, the link seems to work for me. Perhaps it's been fixed? At any rate - thanks! Really excited to get the goblins out into the wild. Taking a bit longer than expected, but its a complicated device and best not to rush things. If you dont mind me asking, which synth are you interested in using midi goblin with and do you have any questions about how it works?
4:44 … Polybrute and PRO3 have patch morphing … Which is the weird Behringer synth that morphs waveforms only? 🤔 Edit: oh, you mean the Prophet VS-based ones … the Mini and the Victor?
❤ not only did I learn a lot about midi but they way he explained how we can transmit arpeggios and goblin can arp received morph feat cool 😎 and how other synthesizer have the arp built-in made so much sense. 🫡 I seriously don’t need more gear but this is actually feature packed unique priced right and a solo dev I’m in there a list of synths currently that omits midi cc on startup or mapped already ?

Hi Andrew. Can the midi goblin control multiple devices? If not, do you plan on making a dual midi goblin?

This is incredible
ive been wanting to buy one for a second, and that I know andrew being toronto based makes me want to support even moe
Backed this on kickstarter and looking forward to getting a chance to play with it. Quick headsup the order link above is broken.

The link in the pinned comment and description both work for me

yeup, pro vs mini I believe (i have one laying around but it mostly just collects dust)
I'm looking for something that will do in-chosen-key Glissandi
What am I missing here? I can't hear any of the synth patches (other than some hi end sizzle)!
