That’s really cool! I really think they accomplished their goal. I had to get stills from the movie for an animation i’m working on and it was super easy because every shot was stunning! I even noticed more beautiful scenes that time around compared to just watching the movie!
the true love can wake her up if u think about it like this - actually all the love from her parents (sacrificing the textile industry & giving aurora away to be raised by the fairies), the love of the fairies raising her, the love of prince philip in familiar and romantic sense & the love of the kingdom (which have to bear the burden of the effect in destroying the spindle which distrupt the textile industry and being there when she is born & celebrating her return) all of that actually the thing that manage to break the curse of Maleficent. the kiss at the end is just the final result of years of effort of love to aurora that finally bear fruit. All of Walt Disney works is more symbolic imagery and hidden theme in the stories, like on surface it felt llike the kiss from philip is the one who break the curse but underneath it is actually the true love of everyone that saves aurora in the end. plus its an adaptation of a FAIRYTALE which requires no logic and bizzare events, they are more on morals/life lesson. and there is nothing wrong with romantic sense of love and the movie not only shows that but also shows various kind of love like parental love, sisterhood love (from 3 fairies), friends/companion love from the interaction with animals and of course the romantic love. this kind of stories do need more in depth watch/review rather than surface level due to various symbolic imagery and hidden theme, which again shows more depth and care in crafting timeless fairy tale which 2014 fails and only a shallow shadow of a narcissistic big celebrity self indulgence project and mediocre studio reboots
That’s a really cool analysis! And it does make sense that this is a story of sacrifice from multiple areas (especially her parents sending her away for 16 years, and then having to marry her off immediately). And i think the 2014 was there to tell a new version of the story, rather than just a live action remake. But it did end up undermining the sacrifices of the community and vilifying characters who weren’t really villains, which felt a little out of place. Nowadays, it’s about money rather than genuine creative storytelling so yeah I get what your saying there. Multi-layered stories take time and dedication, but time is money and that’s the driving force nowadays. Thanks for the new perspective though! I’ll be sure to take that into the other classics when i react the them!
The whole music is actually from Peter Tchaikovsky. From the Sleeping Beauty ballet. And the whole awkward, but wonderful "Once upon a dream" is actually based on the second act of the ballet. The prince gets a vision from the princess (the good fairy sends him literally a dream, in which both dance together), and later (after the awakening) both recognoize each other from the dream ...
Oh wow! No wonder why the score was so beautiful! That version of “once upon a dream” actually cements the whole true love/destiny themes a lot better. Glad to know the original fleshes that out a bit more!
@@AMYAMATA Actually, there are lot of musically references to the ballet plot. The music of Once upon a dream is actually the Garland waltz danced by the peasants for Aurora on her birthday. That is why, Aurora and Philip are meeting now here as "peasants". The fairies' birthday magic preparations is a part from the music of the "Precious stones pas de quatre", where three fairies are dancing on Aurora's wedding, and sometimes now their colors are chosen as green, red and blue, in honor of the Disney movie ruclips.net/video/E8O5ulysjlU/видео.html (Opera de Paris). The most intriguing reimagining is "I wonder"/The Bluebird. Aurora is singing with the birds (and a certain bluebird), Prince Phiip rushes to her on his horse. This is actually a very sweet version of the Bluebird pas de deux. ruclips.net/video/W8K8HMisnS4/видео.html (Bolshoi Ballet). The princess Florina, closed up in a tower, calls for her in a bluebird enchanted lover Prince Charming, who is flying to her (based on a French fairy tale). In the last act of the ballet, there are many fairy tale guests, along them Florina and the bluebird. And now it is necessary to listen carefully. Princess Florina starts with a twittering tune to call the bluebird, and the bluebird's flattering is expressed in a jumpy motif. Both motifs reappear in each solo, and are reunited in a closure. Florina's song is Aurora's song; Philip is storming to her with the bluebird's jumpy flight motif. And if you listen very closely to the ending of the Disney scene (where the prince falls into the water) and of the ending of the "adagio" (the first, slow part before the solos).... Another fun fact is that almost no music apart from beginning and ending is expressing the same idea like in the movie and it is mixed up in the order. Maleficent's theme entering music is actually the "Pas de caractere" (Puss in Boots!) and it took a long time for me NOT to think of Maleficent during the ballet piece (;
Wow! That’s awesome! Didn’t realize there was so much story behind the score! It really adds a lot of depth to what can appear to be just a simple fairytale.
@@felicity1877 I love how they used the Puss in Boots as Maleficent's theme. It was so much fun to finally see the ballet and be like 'wait a minute...' :p
"You know it's a Disney villain when you've got the green and purple color scheme" Ah yes, Scar, Shere Khan, Jafar, Gaston, Cruella De Vil, Captain Hook, Hades, I remember such a color scheme on them so well xD
This is one of my favorite Animated Disney films. The Villain is great, the fairies are great, the kings are great, the climax is great, the animation is great, the score especially the Battle With The Forces of Evil track is spectacular! I think they should have spent more time developing Aurora and Philip. While I was surprised when I was little when I heard the word Hell in this film the whole last segment of Fantasia has literal demons and nude harpies been risen out of Hell.
@@AMYAMATA It is one of Disney’s darkest moments ever put on screen followed by one of the most uplifting and beautiful scenes put to film. The segments are Night on Bald Mountain followed by Ave Maria.
No offense but this film could have done better because my biggest problem for the film is the voice cast for King Stefan and they could have picked a better actor for him and I’ll tell you later. Two kings, while funny, did not lead to anywhere in terms of story so they’re good but not great and don’t have anything about them, along with Minstrel, Lord Duke, and Samson. Their scene in the middle was so unnecessary and their song in the final cut was lame and unmemorable. I would have liked it better if they put the scene in the beginning (like the original cut) and keep the deleted song, It Happens I have a Picture, while still retaining a funny fight. The biggest mistake of this film is the voice cast of King Stefan because Taylor Holmes had replaced Hans Conried for the voice role of Stefan and that created a voice mystery of Lord Duke, though his voice is kinda like Conried but in higher tone. Stefan would have been a great character if Taylor Holmes would have turn down the role and that Conried would have been better as Stefan, though I tolerate Holmes as the singing voice but not the speaking voice. Not being rude but I’m just explaining my criticism towards this film. That’s why I give this film 7/10 stars
Her waist is smaller than what a corset would offer (unless she’s extremely tight-lacing, but then dancing in the forest would be painful lol). Her waist is only a few inches larger than her neck (which is already small) so it just reads a little off (kinda like barbie doll proportions). I had to learn standard body proportions for my degree so I’m hyper focused about those things now lol
@@AMYAMATA I get that too. I think it's s easier for motion as well or so it seems animation wise I mean. I animate as well (just starting out) and it seems easier to move in diff angles. Philip caught Aurora dancing around with his clothes, which were just stolen from him. For all he knows, she was directly involved in the theft and pulling a prank on him. I can understand why he would want to do some playful payback by swapping places with her dance partner (who is *still* wearing the stolen clothes). He meant no harm by it, and he's clearly not a bad person. Here's a fun take on "Once Upon A Dream" and the Aurora/Philip relationship: Aurora says that she has see and spent time with her dream prince "so many times." When she and Philip cross paths in the forest, the latter tells the former that they have met before; they've met "once upon a dream." One could argue that he was just going along with Aurora's game, but if that's the case, why did he repeat the phrase in front of King Hubert? Why would he tell his father that he met his true love "once upon a dream" when Hubert wasn't there and wouldn't know what Philip is talking about? SLEEPING BEAUTY takes place in a magical world where fairies and curses exist. I don't think interacting with people via dreams is outside the realm of possibility. What if Aurora and Philip *have* meet each other through their dreams long before Aurora's sixteenth birthday? That would explain why they warmed up to each other so quickly.

“Haha wow if a gust of wind came she’d snap in half” god people used to say that to me in high school all the damn time I liked your reaction tho dude
Aww i’m sorry to hear people used that in a mean way. I only meant it to her because of how disproportionate she was. For a real, living human that wouldn’t even be realistic (I’m sorry if my words hit a nerve!) Otherwise, i’m glad you liked the video despite that though!
(Edit for misspelling)
@@AMYAMATA Oh you diddnt do anything! I'm sorry I was just remembering stuff
@@sirenskin5304 No worries! I just wanted to make sure I didn’t hurt your feelings. Messages can’t communicate intent unfortunately. Glad to know everything’s okay! Wish you the best!
Fauna is my favorite out of the fairies. Do you have a favorite fairy?
They're all so fun so it's hard to choose! I'd probably say Merryweather though, because she's adorably stubborn!
So like, you know how in old Marx Brothers movies you'd still have a breeding pair for a romantic subplot who are ostensibly the "heroes" but we all know the true stars and main protagonists are the Marx Brothers?
That's how Aroura and Philip feel to me. The Fairies are clearly the stars. It's *their* movie.
I can see that! The movie definitely spends a lot of time on their hijinks lol. Cool observation!
When referring to hell as a place, it isn't (or at least wasn't then) considered a curse word. Not like wth

Can you react to Cinderella 3 A Twist In. Time?
Yeah! I’ve got a few other videos planned so it’ll be a second between then and now but I’ll check that one out (most likely after I do the original Cinderella too)
@@AMYAMATA Okay!
Why did she gag him
that kind of brothel was weird
The characters in this movie are ally fictional 🤪
Thumbs down for stupid OVERTHINKING of the plot. This is a cartoon. For kids. Stop it.
