A few questions: Which specific Motherboard model? (Inlcuding BIOS version if you know) Which RAM kit? (Including specific CL & Timings) Have you OC'd the 9800X3D at all? (Including if you used Ryzen Master OC)
Gigabyte X670E Aorus Master F33d firmware. Memory's GSkill Trident Z5 Neo RGB DDR5-6000 CL28 . 9800X3D is running stock in this, i tried just a little OC it was quite disappointing. 5,4 fixed all core and with PBO+AutoOC+200 MHz + CO-30. Haven't tested gaming, but it gives about 3% and 0,5% more Cinebench R23. So decided no need to spend time for couple of percent and instability risk.
I have an Asus pg248qp 540hz monitor , 13700kf and rtx 3080 . I'm getting like 600 to 700 fps in valorant TDM but fps dips to 470 to 550 in ranked. I need a faster CPU but 9800x3d is not that much faster 13700kf with 8000mhz ddr5 so I'll wait for 11800x3d.
@NT101- 13700k is slower than 7800x3d when using slower than non tuned 7600mhz ddr5 but when using tuned ddr5 8000mhz ddr5 13700k is faster than 7800x3d in most games but 9800x3d is the fastest CPU now.
@@Decki777 I do agree some games but I’ve tried that build there is notable fps increases in certain games that is cpu Heavy. And if you added that ram to it’s basically way better than average. No there is no reason to expect huge difference in gaming(6-10% average probably) and if you already have 7800X3D there is no reason to change, if it is for gaming. Though i think there will be big difference for productivity.
@@SteDiGaming yeah the 9800x3d smashes all other 8 core cpus in productivity, even the 9700x. i think it even gets close to the 12900k in some tests which is pretty impressive considering that has 3x the cores (tho its 3 and a half generations old)
@@bal7ha2ar Yeah i saw too it is quite close in some cases, but 12900K only has 2 times the cores and 1,5 times the threads. Frankly really well balanced CPU this time - not the best at productivity, but still quite competent, best in gaming and not so power hungry. @@SteDiGaming we should also wait for the 9950x3d, if the 9950x is already the fastest productivity cpu and if they do give both ccds the 3dvcache that thing will DESTROY any and all other cpus. i mean just look at how much the extra cache helped the 9800 over the 9700 in productivity. its gonna be insane
Specifically for Valorant - probably. For other games its great upgrade unless you have 7800X3D. I've seen in some cases 30-40% FPS improvement against 7950X.

~10% better than my 7800X3D which isn't bad for CPU gains (going off of intel's 2nd-10th gen precedent lol).
