I love my ‘blue’ 2020 z900!! I have had 5 bikes in my 54 year old lifetime and this is the best one of all! I enjoy keeping in ‘Rain’ mode just because it’s more sane! Very powerful bike. I get so many compliments on this best!! Absolutely love it!

    • @GR8Tmate

How’s the bike Dennis? My local bike shop got one in this week just because I wanted to look at one & sit on it. I have a spine injury, so I need something that has an upright riding position & it felt okay to sit on but I’m not sure how compliant the suspension will be.
      What are your thoughts?
I love riding in winter, the throttle feels crisp and I love early morning rides with the cold trying to penetrate the layers of gear I’m wearing, tipping it into nice sweepers whilst everyone else is still tucked up in bed 😂
Interested in what you think of it?

@@GR8Tmate I love this bike. The posture is perfect. I too have a lower back problem (herniated disk). The posture is just right though, and I have never gotten off after a ride with a sore back. Did make some changes. Bar end mirrors, slip-on exhaust, and radiator guard. $325 total. I have to admit, the seat needs more work..lol After 45 min its like sitting on a plank. (new one on order). Dealership will not recognize it when I bring it back in for service..lol

@@18830dc Thanks for reply brother, I really appreciate it. I’m glad you’re happy with it.
I dropped past the local Kawasaki dealer about a month ago but he had no Z900’s. I’m new to this area so he doesn’t know me. He offered to order one in for me and asked me which colour I liked 👀. I explained about my spine & told him I just wanted to see how it felt. Dropped past again on Friday and there was a brand new Red one 😍
My only issue with it was swinging my leg over the seat, but painful but not nice I was on it it felt good except the insanely HARD seat. My wife sat on the back, she’s tiny but her seat was like HARD PLASTIC 😂
So would need to order some seats, radiator guard, Akroprovic slip on & I need to find someone to PPF it for me.
I was mostly concerned about the suspension, how will I go with my pain 🥹
I’ve been off bikes for 3 years since I was injured, it’s killing me. Nice only ridden 5 or 6 times since then and I actually dream about riding. People don’t understand but when you ride for nearly everyday of your life for 50 years then stop it’s like some sort of withdrawal and I’ve had enough. Just need to hit the roads again.
I’m really jealous of you. I’m not sure if I should pop in and just ride away on it or wait until my new shed gets built……. I need to ride but trying to fight the bike on and out of my car shed won’t be much fun. 🤔
Did you have any trouble dialling the suspension in?

I bought this when it first came out in 2017, great fit for me as I’m only 5’5” I bought the performance model that has a slightly larger screen & I have no problems with wind blast, no extras only the ABS.
I love it, it’s great for throwing around the roads here in the UK & in particular here in North Wales, but Ive also toured it including down to Lake Como in Italy & the south of France, I had no issues riding along side my mates on their adventure & sports tourers, it came into its own on the mountain passes etc.

I feel the opposite to be fair. Had an mt07, upgraded to a 2018 z900 performance. And kinda wish I’d gone for the mt09 instead. It feel like it lacks in the fun torque department and I’m always left wanting something after a ride. Lovely bike but just not entirely happy with it

@@ScoutsOut yeah I’ve toyed with a few ideas. I do love the bike itself, sounds nice and looks beautiful. much more refined than the mt. Maybe it’s the weight difference and the fact the acceleration is so linear. Where as the mt is snappy and you can throw it about, may see what next summer brings and decide from there

I own the Z900 and have ridden the GSX during a demo day. If you are a new rider the GSX is a fine choice. If you have ridden before then go with the Z900. Both are a fine choice.

See if you can get a test ride on both, I test rode an MT09 & this bike back to back, this one every time.
I think if you bought the 750, you’ll out grow it & wish you’d gone for this, its not scary & it delivers power smoothly without effort, go for the benefits of the bigger engine & power.

@@ScoutsOut mt09 gets power sooner, its torquier... i sold it and got a 2018 gsxs1000 and that was even faster and very torquey too. Best bike i have owned and my mt09 had custom suspension and full exhaust but the gsxs1000 was more stable and faster while feeling more composed. Ultimately, downgraded to the mt07 as too much power was making me ride faster everywhere . i feel with the mt07 i found a sweet spot.

@@trailrider1980 the z900 makes a Dyno tested 66 ft lb of torque at 8 k rpm
The MT09 makes 63 at 7k, but only for a peak of torque exactly at 7K rpm.
Everywhere else along the torque (and HP) Dyno curve, the z900 makes more torque and power
      www.motorcycle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/900-nakeds-shootout-torque-dyno.png

I guess the only con with the Z900 is that its does not come stock with an quickshifter. You can only go for an aftermarket quickshifter for this bike. This seems particularly strange considering the MT 09 ( which is the Z900 main competitor) comes stock today with an quickshifter. Having said that this is an supercool bike.
