I have tons of them by me, in IL. Rarely did I see in NE. I've had one on my deck railing, and noticed one on top of one of my bird feeder hooks. I was just happy to see it leave, so I could get my pretty song birds back!❤! That's quite some growth you have on your face, Frank!
Frank, such a great video! I loved all of the information! ❤ Thank you for all of the work and time that you take to do all of your videos, I want you to know it is very much appreciated ❤ have a great weekend.
This was a good one, Frank! Thanks for sharing. I photograph them here in Central Florida, they aren't as common here as they are in other areas and they just make me happy every time I see them. Thanks again!
I would be mesmerized and not able to stop smiling either by the beauty of this beautiful bird and close view. There is so much information in your videos that I have to watch them multiple times to grasp all the great facts. Thanks for all the time you take to make these videos and share your knowledge.
Hawks and raptors are so beautiful and regal. We have a lot in my area, which has a large creek and is part of the Delaware Valley River watershed. I often see them cruising the thermals or stealing peanuts from my perch feeder. Maybe you can talk about the Osprey at some point? They were plentiful along the Rappahanock and Rapidan. Thank you again for another informative video!
Red Tails are Fantastic birds of Prey Hundreds of epic pics of them,Doves,Snakes,Possums, squirrels you name it. Maybe some day I will look into Falconry ?
I love hawks❣️ whenever I go on long drives they always appear, I'm Cherokee Indian native and they are like my guide that I'm on the right path. Thank you for another very interesting video 🙏
Thank you Shayla! Your Cherokee heritage is awesome! I try to dig some background on indigenous peoples uses of trees and plants whenever I can! Thanks for your support!
Thanks Mr. Taylor, that was very interesting. I live in the country surrounded by farms so I can see Red Tailed Hawks everywhere. They are usually perched on a fence line or on top of a hay bale.
Ah! What a great compliment....I am told by youtube experts my channel will never get big because I cover so many topics...but like a true naturalist I love covering all things living!! Thanks for kind words!
200 pounds force per square inch at 5:40 is wrong because it’s a point load and not an area load, so it’s more like a needle and closer to 1000’s of pounds. Red Tailed Hawks are one of my favorite hawks. So beautiful!
What a lovely and informative video. I used to think these were eagles. Lol! While I was out shopping in the city (vey urban), when I got back to my car, there was one of these on the ground just walking and minding her own little business in front of the car right next to mine. I took pictures and a video that I have not shared in my channel, but did shared one of the pictures in my "Community Tab" where in its comments section, I was told that it's a hawk. That's when I learned she was a hawk and not an eagle. Thanks for the share, Frank. Full watched and L73. Cheers!
Thank you so much for your video…tonight this similar bird perched on my balcony since I think it came to hunt for the baby pigeon that fell a few days ago from the balcony above me…its just trying to fly now, hopefully. Poor bird…I hope it will survive once it leaves.
Pretty incredible isn't it! Not just not protected but a belief that predators are bad and we will pay people for their carcasses. Some of the data I saw was absolutely staggering!
We have two of them flying around our garden area Ughhhhh… think they have a nest near us, the noise they make is unbearable to my ears, non stop… plus my neighbors with small dogs are terrified to walk their dogs, I’ve also noticed all my little birds are so few now, and I haven’t seen the lil bunny’s either… Ive had it these dinosaur birds!!!

I'm not particularly fond of most birds, but I absolutely love the raptors. They're so majestic!
They really are! Absolutely regal!

Wow! You're so fortunate to have this opportunity. Thanks for putting this together. I can see why you felt distracted!
Absolutely!
Frank. A couple years ago I was releasing pheasants. For hunting. A red tail took it right out of the air. 😊
Oh my gosh! That is wild! I woke up this morning to a red tail calling out side my window!
1:31 Very true. I saw this red-tail girl going for a duck that was paddling in the Turtle Pond in Central Park the other day. Unsuccessful though!
I just went by that pond a couple hours ago!!!
Taking my swiss nephew on a bit of a usa tour with 3 days in NYC!

There is high mortality among juveniles that are still learning to hunt successfully.

It must have been cool to be that close to a huge hawk like that, those sharp talons and beak are intimidating...

That's horrifying! We can't go back and slap our ancestors in the heads but I wish we could! I love birds of prey!
